It's called Find the Typos and Awkwardly Worded Sentences in My Last Post.

And.....

GO!!

P.S. That's a favorite game of the AMK crowd.  Lee this is a challenge to you.  I know you can kick their asses!!

I found a few.  Most are spacing.  They are in red.

"Where have you been?"  "Why don't you return my messages?"  "Waaaaaa, I can't live without you?"..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

OK, enough.  I'm baaaaaack.  For the last few months I've discovered another internet pastime that has kept me so busy that My Space has been neglected.  It's the world of the blog.  It started with Perez Hilton (how I love thee) and the other gossip blogs.  Then I stumbled upon blogs more intriguing and more addicting than any other I'd ever read:  the Anti Mary Kay Cosmetics blogs.

On average, I'd estimate that I spend one to one and a half hours on the computer throughout the day.  Before I found these blogs, most of this time was spent on My Space.  Now my hours are spent reading the AMKs (as I like to call them).  There are THAT many of them!  Some blogs are kept solely to refute and make fun of other blogs.  These I call the Anti-AMKs.  These aren't to be confused with the Pro MK blogs who generally don't attack the AMKs.  Then there are the blogs that make fun of the A-AMKs.  I guess they would be the Anti-Anti-AMKs.

Then there are the players in this crazy world.  They all have clever names like NoPantyhose and ThrowingUPink.  Most of them have their own blogs, and they comment on each others too.  The posts are titled things like "Why Mary Kay Sucks" or "You Will Lose Money in MK".  Then there is a general discussion about the article presented in the comments section.  THIS is where it gets interesting.  Frequently the "discussion" degenerates into a free for all full of name calling and mudslinging.  It's better than Days of Our Lives.  It's AWESOME!!

Most of you will be asking yourself how I came to be interested in the AMK's.  I'll tell you though I'm not proud of myself.  I…… I used to sell Mary Kay.  (EEEEEKKK!!!)  I should say I used to TRY to sell MK.  I sucked pretty bad.  It was back in 2002, and I was pregnant with Josh.  A few months back I thought maybe I'd try it again.  Maybe I didn't succeed because I was hormonal and lazy.  This time I did something that I didn't do the first time.  I researched the company.  After a couple of Google searches I hit upon a website called pinktruth.com(PT).  This website is the major AMK blog.  As I read through the site I found out a lot about Mary Kay that was not so good.  It was interesting information, and it kept me from signing up again.  What kept me coming back was the viciousness with which the commenters would attack anyone who didn't agree.  I noticed that some of the most frequent visitors to the site had link to their own websites.  These sites were even worse!  I was fascinated!

Not one to believe everything I read, I then googled pink truth.  I came up with a site called My Pink Truth.  This site seems like it was set up  to make fun of pinktruth.com.  The blog owner, simply known as "Me", posts quotes from pinktruth and argues against them.  Then all the ProMK (as they call themselves, I call them Anti AMKs[confused yet]) make fun of it.  Logic is pretty much thrown out the window.  Usually it is personal attacks about the owner of PT and others who agree with her.  To her credit, the PT website rarely gets involved in these fights.  But don't worry!  Some of the frequent posters on the PT site have taken it upon themselves to start blogs to get there side of the story told.  Usually that consists of calling the other people "crazy" and claiming they spend all their time on the computer when they should be doing other things.  (This argument always makes me laugh.  Obviously we are ALL spending too much  time on the internet!)

Most of the time the arguments are pretty bland since a lot of the people on these sites have no sense of humor.  (You'll get this later.)  Sometimes they can get quite mean.  As I mentioned above, they do love their cute little nicknames.  For some reason being anonymous is really important to them.  With that in mind, the opposing sides delight in "outing" each other.  They will post employer information and full names.  Both sides of the argument claim that they do this because it was done to them or someone they know.  While being anonymous is not a worry I have, I can understand that people feel uncomfortable with their personal information being published for people who obviously have a beef with them.  What if one of the AMKer's  really, really, REALLY hates MK and decides to go find some of these people?  What if MK corporate is like Scientology and decides to "get rid of" the AMKers?  It could happen…..yeah, probably not.  Nobody's as scary as the Scientologists.

I've posted some comments on the sites I've visited both AMK and Anti-AMK.  Now most of you that know me know that I do and say things to entertain myself (because I think I'm friggin' hilarious.)  If others are subsequently amused by my ramblings is just a bonus.  Here is the link to my most recent conversation:  http://neverpantyhose.wordpress.com/2007/03/14/kaybot-needs-to-relaaaaaaaaaaaax/#comment-1239

My codename is  Duh.  They don't think I'm so funny.  I've even been mentioned on other blogs!  I'm famous!  A real celebretard.  Note my subtle mention of My Space.  I tried to friend request the owner of the blog so she may stumble across this entry.  Maybe they'll make fun of me again.  Eh, maybe not.  You can only call somebody crazy so many times before it loses its "oomph."

So here are the two things I've learned:

  1. I desperately need attention from anonymous people over the internet because I am lacking something in my real life.
  2. Those Word Press blogs are NICE.   One more reason why My Space sucks.

Jessica found six.  Anybody want to top that?

I couldn't figure out how to get that code out of there.  Everytime I'd copy and paste from MS Word it would do that.  Help please.
