For those of you who read through the last blog and wondered about the numbers towards the end, I've posted this blog to go through line by line how it would work. Again, this is the chart for how many TOTAL disciples we would have after each year, assuming that only ONE person was a disciple to start with, each disciple trained up TWO new disciples, and each year only NEW disciples were made (no re-discipling). Here goes...(it's pretty amazing)
*After year one, one disciple trained up two new disciples, ending the year with a total of 3 disciples.
*After year two, those three disciples trained up six new disciples, ending the year with a total of 9 disciples.
*After year three, those 9 disciples trained up 18 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 27 disciples.
*After year four, those 27 disciples trained up 54 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 81 disciples.
*After year five, those 81 disciples trained up 162 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 243 disciples.
*After year six, those 243 disciples trained up 486 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 729 disciples.
*After year seven, those 729 disciples trained up 1458 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 2,187 disciples.
*After year eight, those 2,187 disciples trained up 4,374 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 6,561 disciples.
*After year nine, those 6,561 disciples trained up 13,122 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 19,683 disciples. (After this is where the numbers start really growing)
*After year 10, those 19,683 disciples trained up 39,366 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 59,049 disciples.
*After year 11, those 59,049 disciples trained up 118,098 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 177,147 disciples.
*After year 12, those 177,147 disciples trained up 344,294 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 531,441 disciples.
*After year 13, those 531,441 disciples trained up 1,062,882 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 1,594,323 disciples.
*After year 14, those 1,594,323 disciples trained up 3,188,646 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 4,782,969 disciples.
*After year 15, those 4,782,969 disciples trained up 9,565,938 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 14,348,907 disciples.
*After year 16, those 14,348,907 disciples trained up 28,697,814 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 43,046,721 disciples.
*After year 17, those 43,046,721 disciples trained up 86,093,442 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 129,140,163 disciples.
*After year 18, those 129,140,163 disciples trained up 258,280,326 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 387,420,489 disciples.
*After year 19, those 387,420,489 disciples trained up 774,840,978 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 1,162,261,467 disciples.
*After year 20, those 1,162,261,467 disciples trained up 2,324,522,934 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 3,486,784,401 disciples.
*After year 21 (if there were enough people on earth to support it), those 3,486,784,401 disciples trained up 6,973,568,802 new disciples, ending the year with a total of 10,460,353,203 disciples.
So yeah, as you can see, the potential is HUGE. And this is just starting with ONE disciple. I know there are more than ONE disciple out there...could we be extremely conservative and say there are 177,147 true disciples on the planet right now? If so, basically cut out years 1 through 11, and start in year 12. That means that we have the potential to dramatically disciple the whole world in how long? 9 years. Wow.
What are we waiting for?
