The Kings first road test of the 2008/2009 PASL season, was a hard fought match between two, second year PASL Franchises. Piasa FC is new and improved, coming off a tough 7-5-road loss last week to the Springfield Demize. The Kings vs. Piasa FC where the 2nd leg of a PASL double header, which featured the Demize beating Fuerza 10-5 at 7:00pm.
In front of a very boisterous and supportive Piasa crowd, the Kings prevailed with a 7-1 victory. What turned out to be a very tight and defensive match, which included many Kings rookies seeing their first PASL game day action.
The first quarter was very tough for both teams, with Piasa FC showing how much they have improved in the off-season. The foul total started to rise which proved to be a turning point in the match in the next quarter. The Kings lead 3-1 at the conclusion of the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Kings pull away with 3 Power Play goals, all on Piasa FC players 6th foul accumulations. That was the difference as Josh Schreck and Jason Jacob, pulled a clean sheet for the 2nd, 3rd & 4th quarters (45 minutes). KC only added one additional score, in the second half for the final score of 7-1.

KC is now 2-0 on the season leading up to the big 7:00 pm, January 3rd home match-up, which features a rematch of last years Midwest Division Championship, between the Kings and The Spirits of Springfield Illinois. The Kings and Spirits split the regular season, with each team winning their home match. The championship match was played in front of a packed crowd @ the Soccer Dome, with Kansas City pulling out a thrilling 16-14 fourth quarter victory.
This will be the Spirits first PASL Premier game of the season, as they have played two PASL Pro matches vs. Detroit Waza Flo Pro splitting the season series 1-1.
