R.I.P. Proof, J-Dilla & Blade Icewood

After attending funeral services for Proof earlier this week, I realized that we need to support each other while we're here. I've recently learned that Proof was buried on the same day as Blace Icewoods death a year earlier. I want to acknowlegde Proof, J-Dilla and Blade for their contributions to the game, my career and what they meant for the city of Detroit. I wish I had the chance to tell all of them that before they passed.

Rumors:

I normally don't address  rumors, but since so many of you have inquired about me getting "jacked", allow me to clear this one up. Allhiphop has a vivid imagnination, but no, I was not and never have been jacked. A few months ago, I was in Toronto shooting a video for "Unexplainable Hunger" with Choclair and Classified and haven't been back since. I've been in the studio working on my new album and ghost writing for...oops, can't tell you. Toronto, i love y'all!

Truth heals ALL wounds...

With that said...I must say...
Although Proof's passing is inexplicable and unfortunate, I also think that the real loss is being underlooked by those aware of the situation. Another man's life, like Keith Bender Jr., was also taken during this horrific tragedy. In my opinion, Proof's actions that night are completely inexcusable. The consequences were soon to follow. Now, I am not accusing anyone in particular of ignoring the "true" issue at hand, but I'm concerned that the death of Proof will pass without an acknowledgment of wrongdoing. After what Proof did and has done, does anyone honestly believe (as insignificant as it may seem) he should/will R.I.P? Is that even important? I've listened to "Death Is Certain" probably more than 5'9" himself...

I say that 2 say..."Everybody Goes" and Keith and Proof both made decisions that night, which cost them their lives. To shine a positive light on that catastrophic event would only be to cover up its darkness yet to be revealed...

First of all,and most importantly,RIP Proof! Secondly I saw you at Capital City Music Hall in Ottawa not so long ago,and you were godlike on stage Royce,I really do hope you come back soon! I just finished my collection of your works via Ebay,and have now legalized all of the albums you have dropped.I am sooo happy to have them,they cost a pretty penny,but were very much worth it!! I heard about that rumor as well,and thought,that it was pure BS from the start! Keep doing your thing,from a big fan north of the 49th!

If somthing like that WOULD have happened I still wouldn't have lost any respect for you cause I know shit happens. As for the Proof/Dilla/Icewood thing I agree with you 100% man there are alot of haters in our city and when you see someone riding down your block in a brand new 2007 escalade man congradulate that man he doing it good. if some one in your hood just dropped a demo thats not as good as he could have done. don't tell him he wack. give him tips on how to step his game up. no one wants to be living on food stamps and shit but on the other end no one wants to make money by them self. lets get this money together and bring our wonderful city of BOOM to the top.

Dudes been talking that, "We need to work together" crap for years, but everyone is trying to be puffy or some shit here in the "D".  Way too many circles of cliques, and you can't get in that shit.  You know this.  We've been trying to get at the D12 cats WAY before Proof died.  Been trying to get at the Slum dudes well before dilla died.  Shit, we've been trying to get at you, and nothing happends yo.  Even before houseshoes Left the "D", we've been trying to get at ANYONE.  In all honesty, I can kinda understand why it's like this.  This is what were around.  Even my team has a circle to it also.  When Niggaz get shit on a few times, you kinda don't want it to carry on. So I'm with you Royce; yea, we need to work together, but it ain't gonna happen.  When dudes can put their ego's down and nod their heads to something that they didn't create, then we'll be ok, but instead, if niggaz hear a song that othey didn't make,they force themselves not to like it.  And don't sell a few thousand cd's.  Niggaz really don't like that.  You personally know about this yourself! Nahmean!  If we can change that mentality, then shit would be smooth.
