....................

Whats up everyone! Sorry for the long period of nothingness
with this band.  I know many of you have been wondering, are they
writing?, are they touring?, are they doing a new record? Whats going on??? And
I feel that you guys deserve an explanation and an answer for all of your
questions.  ABSOLUTELY nothing bad happened between us, we are all still
the best of friends and always will be.  I
just think a lot of ways we and our label went about doing things wasn’t the
best.  I don’t mean to shit talk, but the
music industry is a lot of bullshit which we all pretty much learned the hard
way.   With that said I feel we all needed
to move on for the time being, find ourselves, and our place in the
world.  So unfortunately and sadly I have to announce... Sound the Alarm is
on an "indefinite hiatus"... yes i know, it seems like thats the cool
thing to do anymore.  But I truly think thats what it is and feel there
will be more STA in the future.
As to when/if that will happen, I do not know.  We are all pursuing
our own things right now and trying to figure out what each of us want in
life. Some of us are still  persueing music, some going to school, but all
being productive. Personally Brian and I have both seperatly moved to Los
Angeles in recent months and are attempting other bits of work. Brian has an
awesome gig (www.myspace.com/orianthi) Myself, I have been writing music constantly
with a very good friend of mine and will have demos up very soon (within a week
or so, myspace address for them will also be posted on the STA page), please
keep checking back for those. Rick has been working with a friend doing the
Possum and the Muskrat (in our top friends) so check them out as well. But yes
in the end.. you wont be hearing much from STA any time soon but you might see
STA in the future again and I hope for that.  But until then, from myself
and all of us, I just want to thank each and every single person that made the
past 5 years of our lives completely fucking amazing you guys are what made me
love music more than anything.  Thank you guys all so much and we will all
see you soon!

peace and love,

Cody

and all of STA<3

Give To Give

It's sad to hear, but hey, it happens to every band eventually. I'm just glad I was able to see you guys twice at The Elks Lodge. You guys seriously are some of the most boss people I've met, and you are definitely right that the music industry is a tough one. I will definitely cherish my signed CD. But also, it is good to know that you guys are still friends, you know? It takes a group of great friends to realize when something needs a break. Life can throw many things at you, rough or easy, and I think by what I just read, you guys definitely handled it maturely.
It is also great that some of the band is going to school, and I also can't wait to check out the new projects!

A little recollection I wrote:

I went to my first show way back when at The Elks Lodge in Peekskill, NY. I thought, I probably won't enjoy this. As I walked up to the back of the room, I noticed that the amp stacks had SOUND THE ALARM written on them. I asked my friend who they were, and she didn't know. So bands played, some good, some bad, and I was getting tired, but I was determined to find out who Sound The Alarm was. Finally we hit the final stretch. Tokyo Rose had just finished their set, and next up was none other than Sound The Alarm. As they set up, I sat watching, itching to hear this new sound....The set started. Immediately I was drawn in, so much that I felt my self humming the songs I didn't even know, trying to determine what the next line in the song would be. Needless to say, it was the best set in the whole show, and I think one of the best sets I've seen in my whole life, and after that I saw bands like Metro Station and Good Charlote and The Maine. After the set Brian walked up to us and asked us how we liked it and shook our hands. I was definitely really happy about that, haha. My friend and I both bought their album and got them signed. I ended up seeing Sound The Alarm again later on that year, and they didn't cease to impress me. They are definitely a band I will never forget.

All in all, for the time I knew you, you all rocked my world, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
And when you rejoice and visit New York, I will be first in line to meet and greet!

Love you all!,

Ethan.

I wish i would have come to more shows, I miss and WILL miss you guys like crazy.

Maybe in the future, we'll see eachother again! Woohoo. Let's hope for that.

I was reading this and everytime i got furthure to the end, I just kept sulking and sulking more and more. I remember, and I would specially like to THANK you guys with everything i got. You gave me my life as it is today. No lie. witrhout you i wouldn't be the way i am! Dur of course people say that meaning your music but I mean, legit. I seriously wouldn't be who i am. At my frist show, You guys played with Stay and Lansdowne and without meeting them and you guys, my life would be dull and boring. Thank you guys for being amazing people.

Really. I honestly can say, thank you more than life itself.
