To me enlightenment is awareness forgotten. If we do nothing to find our inherent "beingness of light" it will come anyway, eventually. Sometimes it's fun to search for it, and sometimes our very "will to live" drives us to remember it. It always comes suddenly but not always dramatically. By doing, taking action, striving for it, we can trick ourselves into finding it. Suddenly, when we are so busy searching, we can relax and it comes. Or, we can wait, it's our inherent beingness, it will come eventually.
