Hello MySpacers!
If you are feeling neglected from a lack of blogs lately don't feel bad. You are experiencing what it is like to actually be my friend/family member right now. I have turned in to a true workaholic.
I have been working on my new movie Walk Hard. The movie is a fictional music biopic. It centers around John C. Reilly playing musical legend Dewey Cox. (Yes, we make "Cox" jokes all day on set.) I play Darlene Simmons…the love of his life. And, I have to tell you…I am having the time of my life. John C. Reilly is the most amazing man…both professionally and personally. He's really been sweet to me. We did a movie together last summer called Quebec. But we only had a couple of days work together. Doing Walk Hard with him as been such a treat. I've learned so much from him. Our director Jake Kasdan is incredible. I wish I could tell you some of the things we've been doing. I'm actually sworn to secrecy. Like, I had to sign an agreement! But, I've been keeping a diary of the shoot and I'm told I can publish it around when the movie comes out...which I believe is February 2008. Pretty cool.
Other folks in the movie are Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell and Matt Besser. They play John C. Reilly's bandmates. I seriously thought I couldn't laugh more than on the set of The Office. But these guys are like insanely funny. There is one scene in the movie with John and the band that is without a doubt the funniest thing I've ever watched being filmed. They were improvising and the stuff was so funny that crew members were laughing and ruined some takes…which is like a big no-no. I didn't even have to be at work that day and I stayed to watch the scenes being filmed. It's that good. You will also notice a few Office fellows in the movie…Ed Helms, Craig Robinson (who plays Darryl) and Dave Koechner (aka Todd Packer) all have small roles.
Anyway…that is where I've been. Sorry for the repeat of The Office this week. Next week is all new. We have a bunch of new ones coming up. They are all great. My personal favorite is Women's Appreciation. Michael takes all of the ladies to the mall. It's great. But, the one not to be missed is Beach Day. Seriously. Don't miss it.
