WHAT'S GOOD Y'ALL!!!

aye, i know it's been a minute since i hollared at my peoples, i sincerely apologize for my absence...

...i pray that all is well with everybody, i really appreciate all the love and support, y'all holdin me down, checkin for me, lettin me know how you feel about what im doin, keepin up with the comments on the myspace, comin out to the shows, ACTUALLY BUYING THE RECORDS !!! [i especially appreciate that therre] and just basically stickin wit me through all the crazy music industry politics and stuff...

i just wanted to take some time out and thank all of y'all, thank you so much!!


i also wanted to let y'all know about a couple of things I been workin on..

...first of which is a "Christmas Album" im havin a whole lotta fun with, tryin out some knew things, spreadin my creative wings a little bit, all in the name of the holiday season, actually i know some of y'all been waitin on me to do one, so come this christmas, i got you..

...but most importantly though i been workin on this new album, my 5th one as you know, and i think this is gonna be my best one yet, i mean don't get me wrong, im not in no way knockin the other jawns, im very proud of the work i put out through the years, and with the help of all of you folks out there havin my back on it and makin it all such a huge success, i don't know what else to be but grateful about it...

...thank you..

however...

...there are many sides to my creative ability that i think it's time to showcase them a bit, just to introduce a few to you, maybe bring somethin new to you're attention...

...you know, just tryina keep it fresh!!

I mean look, there's so much music out there, and there are so many people who listen to so many different things, and i know i probably won't get to do it ALL in my lifetime, but, i like to think i make music for everybody, so i think it's time i start doin some other things...

...i'm definitely gon keep makin the same music that i know you know and love, it wouldn't be wise to not continue to do so, i can do that all day [no ego, i promise] but i just figure with so many other things goin on out there, and me being the creative person that i am, i know i could come up with some fresh good music for you to dig on, and i really think you gon dig it..

...and speakin of which [or i should say as we speak, or as i speak that is, or is it as i write, anyway...] right now y'all should be hearin my new single on the radio [ironically called "Radio"]

...now i gotta give you a heads up on this one...

...it all started when i was out in ATL [where i recently moved] and i was in the studio, and this producer played me this beat i thought was kinda fresh, and im always gettin beats from cats that be real real dope, all kinds of beats, fast beats, slow beats, hip hop beats, beats with samples, beats without samples, ofcourse the r&b neo soul beats [can't forget those], beats with a rock feel, beats with a jazz vibe, down home blusey soundin beats, dancehall beats, concious roots reggae beats, reggaeton and salsa like beats, church beats, club pop beats, 2 step house garage beats, funk beats, electroic beats, spacey wierd wtf beats, beats that sound like other beats, even a few i aint never hear nuthin like it change my life beats, all typsa beats, wuteva, you name it, i heard it...

...but i wont ever do nuthin wit'em cause i always be thinkin {nah, i like it, it's hot, but "Musiq Souchild" can't do that, people won't get it} or {they gon think it's too far} or {they gon think i went nuts} or {they gon think i done lost it} or any combination of words that make the same point, im sure you've heard them all before..

..except this time i thought about it and said "man, forget that, ima just do it" [and for the record, this was probably the funnest song i ever recorded] and even though i know it might shock a few folks [which was definitely my intention, just not in a negative way, think of it more like an artistic leap from a cliff on same sh!t mountain]..


..feel me..

..i just think it brings another perspective to the point of how different people dig different things, and i just wanna make music that people out there are diggin on..

..meaning, if i hear some folks diggin on somethin, and i dig it myself, and if i can do it, i say why not, if people like it, i wanna make it too, i figure that way i get to make music or more people, in the style that THEY like, and, i get to learn somethin new about music!!

so, check it out, listen to the words, and honestly give it a chance, im sure you gon like it, if not, aye, i did my best, i still love you and we still cool, ima just keep pushin, and keep tryin to inspire you with new stuff, there's just way too much to do out there!!!

and on that note i just wanted to let y'all know im mixin the album, it's comin along real nice, just finished a song called "So Beautiful" this one is kinda special..

i should be done with it and you should have it by early September, and i been workin real hard to make this one extra fresh for you, i know y'all gon love it!!!
