how do i add music to my page?

originally contributed by: Logan Sakai

to add background music to your page, you will need to have the url to
the music file (wma, asx, mp3.. etc.) from either another site, or from
your own host.

this will create a music player with controls that a viewer can control:

<embed src="url_of_song"  width="280" height="45"></embed>

Step by step instructions:

  1. Download a song
    winmx.com
    epitonic.com
    google.com

  2. Hosting a song
Search for a host (google.com - free webhost)
Make sure the host allow music download (.wma .mp3 .rm .ram .mov .wav etc.)
Make sure the host allow HOTLINKING (if not, you're out of luck)
    Upload your music
    Get the URL (http://the.host.site.and.your.username/music.file.mp3)
  3. Putting the song up
Have to use the right code
Make sure the code has no mistake

  4. Not working?
    Check all the step above
  5. STILL Not working?
    You suck! Stop trying!

*note: recent changes in the way myspace handles embeds will change this code to a more complicated looking set of codes that essentially does the same thing.  At this time, this new set of codes does not fully support autostart or loop as valid parameters.

*FIREFOX users: if you are finding that you can no longer view your player after myspace revises it's code into object/param tags, you may need to install active-x for firefox.

I do not necessarily recommend this, but is seems the only fix that works for this right now.  :(
