I just ran across a message to the Henry Bowman Society about some idiot I ran across a few years ago named Vince Diehl.
Here's the link to my response.
This is the guy who showed up at an event I attended in the Tijeras area back in January 1996. He was passing out flyers that covered his persecution at the hands of feral, state and local gooferment. Also covered in these flyers was how a satellite launched by the Peoples' Republic of China was going to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere in November 1996, crashing into a weak spot in a natural gas deposit. The resulting explosion was supposed to have wiped North America from the globe.
Skimming through Diehl's site piqued my curiousity: what are the rest of the idiots in Albuquerque up to?
So I ran a Google search for Geraldine Amato. Here's one of the links that popped up. While reading through the stuff that came up about Amato, I discovered that she's a "candidate" for Bernalillo County Sheriff -- a Democrat this year, it seems. Which should make my own campaign a bit more fun.
Here's the others I can think of off-hand:
Don Schrader AKA "The Naked Guy" -- Schrader is a blast if you think of him as a stand-up comic. Word of warning -- if you know that he's going to be in the area, grab a pair of those foam ear-plugs and use them to block up your nose. I've taken to referring to Schrader as "Captain Caveman," after the NBC Saturday morning cartoon character. See also the Wikipedia entry for Schrader.
Scott "the Go'auld" Goold -- I had a brief run-in with this character back in late 2002 and early 2003 - he and I were both elected to the Board of Directors of NM-NORML. He wanted to use NORML as a recruiting ground for his anti-tobacco buddies here in ABQ, pitching the anti-smoker rhetoric even as most of the other Board members where switching back and forth from cigarettes and joints. Then his little stunt of inviting pedophile-rapist David Siebers to live at his house was a misunderstood "gift" to NM-NORML.
Christina M. Vahlsing -- This is the socialist twit who kept bugging me to raise her a million or two so she could run for governor in 2002 after I ran into her at Channel 27 (at the Tennessee and Phoenix NE location -- that was in 2000). Sure, I'll just take it out of petty cash. Kind of funny that she kept wondering why she never got the LPNM nomination in 2002.
