VINCE VANCE
RETURNS TO MS GULF COAST
SILVER SLIPPER CASINO main stage-Lakeshore, Ms.
July 6th and 7th, 2007
Recording artist and master showman Vince Vance will return home to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the first time since Hurricane Katrina. He will be starring for two big nights at the Silver Slipper Casino on July 6th and 7th and appear in two shows nightly at 7:00 and 10:00 PM
Vince Vance's home and 35 years of photos, press stories, video tapes, films… virtually the entire history of Vince Vance & the Valiants with the Valiantettes, were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Longtime Coast favorite Vance had played at many casinos and events in the area. Since the storm, Vince has worked out of Dallas and only appeared on the coast for a benefit show for Katrina victims. "I use to play regularly in the areas casinos as well as playing for Cruising the Coast," stated Vinnie, as he is known to his close fans. "My song, "Cruising the Coast" was the event's theme. "Since the storm I haven't had a place to play regularly on the Gulf Coast and it's my home. This could be the start of something big. Come see me on the July 4th weekend for patriotic show and a good time."
Vince has a long history on the Gulf Coast. "We used to play for the late Gene Jernigan at The Vapors. The Gulf Coast has helped make me a star. I've traveled all over the world, played at the Whitehouse twice and met 2 Presidents. I owe it all to my fans on the Gulf Coast who have supported me and come to see my shows," Vince added.
The Silver Slipper Friday and Saturday concerts promise to be shows to remember with Vince Vance pulling out all the stops. Vinnie's will feature Biloxi Resident Melony Abelon AKA Vixie Valianette.
"My experience with Vince Vance has been wonderful," said Melony. "It's going to be wonderful to do a concert and then be able to go to my
own home. I've got such great friends on the coast," added Melony who was glowing with excitement. "I have played shows all over the country with Vince. I've met great people and been spotlighted in some major concerts. My work with Vince has opened many doors for me."
The legendary concert with the Allman Brothers at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum made Vince a hot commodity on the Gulf Coast. During the Iran hostage crisis Vince released "Bomb Iran," a song that captured a national mood and expressed the anger and frustration of the American public more than any other public statement of the time.
Vince's composing and recording career and his place his place in music history has been set in stone with the release of the now Christmas Classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You!" This Vince Vance chart-topper is now a Christmas standard.
"All I Want for Christmas Is You!" expresses as no other song that Christmas is not about things but about people and our relationships with other people. Vince has gone on to release albums, singles, videos, and has written the family book The Vince Vance Rock and Roll Reader, an illustrated book with stories, poems and fun things for children of all ages.
"I want to personally invite all of my old friends, new friends, and fans I haven't met yet to come out and see the shows, I miss seeing my friend and neighbors for the rebuilding Miss Gulf Coast," Vince added.
