I have been doing some reading and praying this week. Both the bible and just other books. I want to share 2 keys that has really hit home to me! Note: I believe this is a word for a handfull of people that need to hear this right now! Unlike the past two posts that by response let me know spoke to hundreds. I believe this post is for a smaller portion that is ready to receive this! I will be posting more soon, I feel I have alot in my spirit right now so please Keep me in your prayers ;) Key 1. " Those without your dreams or goals may never understand your decisions " Dr. Mike Murdoc I have heard it said that a man can live months without food, days without water, minutes without air. But a man can not live one second without a purpose! Without reason why are you here? What are wanting to do? What do you feel called to do? If you are reading this then you are STILL ALIVE! If you are still alive its a for a purpose a reason. God has a plan for each one of you. But just to warn you ahead of time. Everyone doesn't understand your dreams and your purpose. Therefore they wont understand all the desicions you make to pursue it! I want to incourage you today or whenever you read this to pray that God would reveal to you your purpose. Hope this verse is of some help ;) " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6 The lord says, " I will guide you along the BEST pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you" psalms 32:8 key 2. " The clearer your goal- The greater your faith " Once you pray for God to reveal his purpose for you. Once you find your dream. In order to pursue it you need to remember it. Its so easy to put things on the backburner, DONT DO IT! PURSUE IT! hope this verse helps and I will end this post with it. Blessings, Ryan " Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it WILL SURELY COME, IT WILL NOT TARRY." Habakkuk 2:2,3

That truely touched me and I really appreciated this post. Ive been persuing my purpose ( or I should say what I think my purpose is) recently. I feel that I got called to vocational full time ministry when I was 14 but only now at 18 have I truely started pursuing my call to youth ministry and youth in general. I just have such a heart for the youth of America and the awesome power they have to do good in God's name, and just how awesomely beautiful being young and having the world ahead of you. Im only upset I didnt pursue my call earlier because it would have been interesting to see where God may have placed me. Your post was just generally encouraging to me and I think something very important that we all need to remember. God Bless!

"to do good in God's name"

I accept your beliefs.  It's awesome you believe, I wish I did but I don't.  I simply ask, why can't youth (and people in general) do good for the sake of mankind, why does it have to be in the name of God?

Do you think it's possible to have a dream/vision/purpose at one time and because of cicumstances of mistakes a person makes, have that particular dream/vision/purpose be removed or changed? I had a particular revelation of God's plan for my life. Is it possible to derail myself far enough from that to where it won't come to pass? I feel almost like Joseph. At one time, he was so confident in the dream God put in his heart. But then he was betrayed by his own brothers, enslaved, and imprisoned along the way. I often wonder, throughout those long years, did Joseph ever loose faith? Did he ever tell himself that he must've been crazy when he had those dreams? I'm to the point where I question if God Himself actually spoke those things to me. I question the credibility of those dreams along with my sanity. The difference between Joseph and I is: Joseph isn't the one who got himself into that mess! I am totally responsible for my circumstance. That's why I'm wondering, do particular dreams get changed? Do they vanish? Or could it be, there is a time when PURSUING them is out of the question? Would it be wrong to "put things on the back burner" (or try and forget them) for this reason? Thanks for listening! I appreciate all input and understanding! ~Jen Btw, I'm thankful for the opportunity to be a part of a group like this! What God is doing here is great!

Jen,

Read your words. I know my words of response are three years late, but it's hard for me to be you or Joseph when I'm not going through such a change. I am amazed by you question of whether particular dreams get changed or vanish? Intriguing. Provoking.
In my life, man have I screwed up. I question God all the time. And sometimes...sometimes God speaks in ways I cant fully explain. I hope and pray that whatever was eating at you two years ago, has found some sense of peace in your life.

Christ be with you,
Jeremy

Jen,

The Holy Spirit is with you.  So just relax and let the Spirit lead.  When the time is right everything will come together.  You will understand the path and take the right one.  Too many times we try to force a direction when it isn't the right time.  Let your faith hold you over until things become clearer.  God loves you and is always with you.  In His love Luke

hey i just wanted to encourage you again i too hope you have found peace on this subject, and i hope god has drawn closer to your heart in your jorney to find answers.

i too, have pondered on that very same question, my biggest thing is money. i'm not the best at managing my finances, and i felt that has been a big hold up in my life. i was blessed to be able to read a book called "prisioner in the third cell." what a great book. it tells the story about the life of john the baptist, and his jorney though out his life. i would encourage you to read it, and see what all he had to go through to finnish his porpouse in life. what i liked the most about the book was when it came down to it john himself had to ask the question, " jesus, are you the on we seek or is there another" to go though life with the porpouse to lead the way for christ and then have to ask that question you have to wonder what was going on in his head. well to make a long story short john had been thrown into prison and found out that god was not going to come to his rescue, because his porpouse was to be there, and what i geuss i'd like to say is this, when you find your self willing to die for that porpouse than i think  you have arived. so when things of this world are coming agisnt you don't give up hope. "blessed are you if you are not afended with me."

in his glory,

daniel

Hello, Jennifer :)

I am new to this whole my space thing.  This is one of the first things I read, and although you posted your concerns in March (a lifetime ago, right?:) I felt touched by it.  I hope you have found an answer to your questions. know that God will never leave you, he will never forsake you. Scripture says that God works in all things for the good of those who seek after Him.  In my experience, God is not spurred on by anything we do or don't do.  He is the same, and He comes to us when we have done everything right, when we have done eerything wrong, when we have done nothing. (Carlos Carletto).  Our behavior does not limit what God is able to do.  It is a response made out of our love for God. He even says not to do things just because we think that we "ought to", do it because you love Him.  Trust me, nothing you could have done is going to cast a shadow on the fat that God loves you and He has a plan for you. Read Jeremiah 9:11. God bless

Write back if you like:)

Cassie

"But just to warn you ahead of time. Everyone doesn't understand your dreams and your purpose. Therefore they wont understand all the desicions you make to pursue it" Oh man! This couldn't be truer!! It gets so tough when everyone you know and love is questioning you and why you are doing what it is you're doing. But sometimes people simplay cannot understand that God sometimes requires us to take a step of pure faith- you can't tell them where you're going or what exactly you're doing 'cos you don't know yourself!! All we can is I am being obedient and going for His will alone. Don't worry about what others think or say because it is not for your reputation but for His glory. He will vindicate you- let HIM be your reward and your passion. I like this bit: "wait for it; because it WILL SURELY COME, IT WILL NOT TARRY" Wait for Him- HE WILL COME!! it's the hardest part about God's plan for our lives... waiting!! but that part teaches us and stretches us so much so that we can be ready for what God has coming to us! Didn't mean to preach (that's what youth pastoring will do to ya!!) God bless you all beyond all you can ask or even imagine... Rachel xxx He is our DADDY- not a divine vending machine!

hi kayti :

my name is David  I just wanted to say that i have alot of admiration and respect for the stand that you took .you had to make some hard decisions. Many people would have caved to the pressure. But your right if things of this world stand in the way of your relationship with god , then its important to put some of those things on hold untill your standing on solid ground, wearing the full armor of god.

I am 49 years old ,and i have made my share of mistakes. but praise god that everyday is a new day in the site of the lord . we can humbly ask god to forgive us our sins , and start this day anew. Your young but it sounds like you have your head on straight. God Bless

O MY GOSH! k..wow..that right there just touched me. I guess i will give you a short background about my passion and what i feel God is calling me to do. (sorry this is long but read it if you want). After re-dedicating my life to Christ during my senior year in high school my passion for music grew soo much. only this time i wanted to use it for God. I applied to go to Central Bible College to major in music/drama/youth ministries..i was accepted but i had to turn it down cause other doors weren't opening and i felt lead to go to Pittsburg State University. I declared a major in Biology Pre-med. During my freshman years in college there was a monthly held open-mic night. i just started singing at the open mic nights..mainly worship songs and i sang archapela (just me and my voice) hehe..surprisingly people kept being interested..if u don't knowthis Pittsburg state university is ranked pretty high on the most party college in america. Anywho..then i had the desire to play the guitar.. God totally provided a guitar for me through a friend and i began teaching myself how to play. within 4 months..wow..i was playing. I know God placed his annointing and thats all i have to say..because people don't just teach themselves guitar and wala start playing. Anywho..ever since i began doing music ministry..God began opening doors like crazy for me! On the other side, my interest with school started going down the drain.. i hated being a biology major but thought i would give it a second change. So here i am my sophmore year in college still as a biology major. I finally realized that was not what i wanted to do. I prayed and God reaveled to me that my purpose of music. using the talents that He gave me to reach out to others. K so here it where things get crazy. I decided that i wanted to better myself in music as far as knowing theory and playn piano and taking more guitar lessons, learnig more about the technology part of music etc. well the music program here at pittstate is totally not what i need. So i thought about Labette Community College which has an amazing Commercial Music Program. So i prayed about it and felt this was the way to go.. in two years i could learn so much about music and totally develop this talent that God has given me in order to use it to the fullest. Well i presented this plan to my dad and lets just say all 'HECK" broke loose. My dad, a non-christian was not pleased atal. I can't tell you how many lectures i have gotten from him saying that "what do you think your doing?"" going from a university college to a community college" "have you lost your mind"?? Anywho.. he gave me options..if i go to pitt-state he will pay for everything (tuition, insurance, car payments etc) if i go to Labbete community college i will be pretty much on my own. the only problem is this I CAN'T WORK! ahh..my visa doesn't allow me to work therefore i have to be dependant on my dad. I recently got a phone call from labbette comunity college and they are going to accept me into the program and give me a full scholarship.
Question: should i go to labbette fully knowing that i will be struggling to support myself for the next 2 yrs?
or should i go to pittstate and pretty much be living the high life?
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME I REALLY REALLY NEED IT RIGHT NOW!

Dear Pricillia,
I am 29 and accepted Jesus in my heart four years ago. The Lord quickend my understanding real fast. One thing I know is the path which God leads us is often narrow hard to see, real steep, bumpy and tons of not knowing."lean not on your own understanding , but on God's alone". Your post mark was a few months ago, My point is. God will provide everysingle financial need you have. Go to the college wich you feel led, and if you are already there, you go girl. I will keep you in my prayers, may God bless you in all your ways. Much love in Christ, Amber

Man, I really needed to read this right now. Been struggling alot with my purpose in building God's kingdom. Been rebelling hard ya know. Sometimes I just want my music to be mine, not for God or faith, but I know that it's not God or my inner man speaking when I think like this. I know that his purpose is greater than any little scheme I can come up with. Sometimes it just takes a little encouragement. Thanx man..............Matt

A Bella in search of her Edward

My pastor gave a message on this topic during a Sunday night service about waiting on the Lord.  That last verse from Habbakuk is one that I personally need to stick on my forehead or something because I get so tired sometimes of waiting and being patient.  I want to hurry things a long instead of just waiting on God and his timing; knowing that his timing is always perfect.  My calling is youth ministry and I'm pursuing that with all my heart.  It's not always easy, but it's what God has called me to do and that's enough for me to know that I will persevere.  Thanks for the reminder.  God bless!

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish

Also on goals and desires.  There is a lot of depression that comes from two things.  Not having any goals, and not understanding what a goal is.  A goal is best defined as something that only you and God can prevent from happening.  Everything else that is dependant upon the actions of another human should be considered a desire and lowered in rank.  For example, if I make it my goal to start a business, I will find myself in trouble.  There's so much that is involved and dependant on other people for it to happen.  Everything that blocks that goal will further depression.  But if I make it a goal to learn how to play my guitar, I will not find depression so easy, because I can learn everything I need to on my own.

Thank you, Ryan. You're Holy Spirit inspired word was really touching and awesome. I needed it. There are time we have goals, hopes and dreams, and when we feel that they aren't working now, we feel like a failure, but this reading proved me over and over I just commit all my hopes and dreams to God. (Proverbs 16:3 Commit all things to God for throught Him all shall succeed!)

May God bless you, and inspire your music to hit levels you thought could never be.

No one can tell you your reason for living exept God! No 1 is to read your bible and pray a lot, but if you really don't know where you are going it might help to ask someone who knows more about your situation.
I know how you feel, sometimes its hard to know where you are going in life and about nothing is worse than feeling like you're aimlessly drifting your life away without any vision for where your headed, but in those times we have to really rely on God.
Don't dispair! He's got a great plan for your life, even if you can't see it right away.

Hey, girl!  You posted this nearly a month ago, but I still wanted to respond.  I heard once that your purpose lies where your greatest passion and the world's greatest need meet.  I can identify with what you must be feeling.  I am in school studying to be an ordained minister, and I am not even sure what to do with that! :) All I can offer is this:

Pray. Ask God to make your calling clear.  God says you will seek Him and find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.

Listen. (If it is confusing, it is not God.  Clear your mind and meditate on Jesus, or a scripture verse, or the Cross)

Do a spiritual gifts invntory (you can probably find one online, or your church library)

DON'T PANIC!!! Lots of people think they have it all figured out, and they are totally surprised by the outcome.

Remember that God will hold you, that the work He has begun in you HE WILL see to completion.  Don't be afraid. God bless

I wish it were so easy to find a purpose.  I have had no reason to live for 3 years now and God hasn't showed me anything about any purpose in life I might have, despite me asking.  I've been at church 9 months now and I still don't see any purpose in sight, unless I fulfill it this month and die next year.

I am still a christian, but I don't trust God.  He won't even give me any hints at any purpose I might have, and just seems to use me for random near-meaningless purposes.  He has communicated to me before, so I know he could at least have hinted at it if he had wanted to.

I think my problem is me not God--when you say you don't trust him what do you mean?  Darcie

This is the first Christian group on myspace that I searched for and the first message I read coincides with what we studied last week at my church.  That's awesome!  I especially love the verse from Habakkuk 2:2-3.  I have written down my visions and I read them aloud everyday.

I wanted to send you a few other verses in Scripture to go along with your message.

I Timothy 6:17, Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 6:19, Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 23:18, Ephesians 5:14-15.

Enjoy!  I'm glad to have found your group!

Hi! Wow, I'm really glad I joined this group and ready this.  You are very good at helping people and touching peoples lives. Keep the good work up for the Lord! Well about this message, Amen!!! Its a really good thing that you wrote that because I beleive the same thing. You know people need to be reminded that they do have a purpose in this world or else they wouldn't be here and also that God has a plan for our life. It may not be our plan but he has one for each and everyone of us. An no matter what you've been through, what you will go through or what your going through now Always remember that you have a purpose . God has a will for your life. So don't give up!!!!
Love and Prayers Always In Christ,

God Bless you, the path to Heaven is through Christ, His plan  is so amazing and special.  We have a God that believes in what's right , the Bible is a road map and example of how to live.  But Prayer, is how we plug in to God.  You are what you think about.  We were designed to do great things , we were made in the image of the pertfect God.  Then were born here on earth where the laws of nature and the universe work in perfect harmony to create the weather and the seasons that just work together, sometimes things get cold, sometimes it gets rough.

The Devil is in the ear of us all, telling us we can't do it, take the easier way out, no one will know.  God knows.  And He one who seeks is there for any ,   God gave us free will.  We can do what ever we want to, but cause and effect are also laws.  the choices we make is what determines our outcome.  God wants us to do well and bring glory to his name, we are his children, he's always there,

When we became Christians, we asked God to come in to our heart, wash away our sins.

Without vision people perish.  Life is a test, the glory is coming after this world.  Let's open the hearts of others not just ours.  It;s not about me or you.  It's much bigger.

I really enjoyed reading that. As a matter of fact, my favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. My second favorite verse is Romans 8:28 All things work together for good, to them who love the Lord, to them who are the call according to his purpose. I think these verses go hand in hand with your message. God gave us life and with our life he gave us purposes, just look at those who he spoke through to write the bible. Typical men who probably believed there whole lives were purposeless, and look at the purposes that God gave to them, he used them for his glory. That's our purpose in life, to be used for his glory in all things we do and say.

That is soo true I believe every body has a purpose in life. It surprises me how sometimes i see what my purpose in life  is but truely the devil always tries to get you confused and all that and i do tend to question can I be a vet or not. But really when I always ask for guidance by His spirit He always tends to show me the way even when i don't see it at first but when i sit back and look back on my life He Was There Every Step Of The Way. I pray that all young people keep on Pursuing on what God has Blessed them With. Walk with God Every Step and You'll never be confused really you'll never.

Blessings To You All Hopefully You're Purpose In Life Will Be Clear For You And May You Be Guided By His Spirit.
