Im going to a paper wedding anniversary party and every one is going to wear paper.
Ive made a paper dress to go and this is how Ive done it :)

I got the pattern here

The pattern came on four sheets. First I printed it out on four sheets of A4 and made it just to work out how to fold it.
Heres the bodice . . .

And heres the bodice with the skirt.
The next step would be to sew them together but instead I moved on to a bigger version.

I then printed each sheet of the pattern onto 3x3 sheets of A4, glued them together and cut the pattern out.
Heres the bodice

Anyway, i could only just get into that so I printed out the four sheets on 4x4 A4 . . . here they are

Heres one sheet before I stuck it together . . .

. . . and here it is stuck together.

Heres it ready to cut out.
The edges reinforced with masking tape.

I drew a skull and took a photo of it.

I made a polka dot pattern from it.

Printed it out on A3 and made big sheets of it by gluing the A3 together.

I stuck the reverse side of the cut out patterns to these sheets with spray glue
Heres the front of the bodice made up.

Heres the polka dot pattern for the skirt.

Heres the skirt being built.

Here is the bodice and skirt before I sewed them together.

And here is the finished product.

Im also going to make some beads out of paper cubes and a hand bag out of a cardboard box with the same pattern as the dress pasted on :)

ADDENDA:

I mailed De Geuzen to say thanks for putting the paper dress pattern up and they mailed back, which pleased me :).
Here its is . . .

Hello Simon,

Found your e-mail this morning and it is fantastic! The skull addition is amazing and I imagine the armor-like quality of the pattern will be brought out even more with the two layers of paper glued together I imagine. Thanks a lot for sending the link. Will we ever see a picture of you in it?!
Oh, by the way... if you need a pattern for a paper handbag... we've got that too ;-)

Thanks a lot,

That, my friend, is totally and utterly amazing!!  When will it be worn and will there be pictures of the wearing?  I'm one of Jo's friends, btw.  I just wondered by and started reading about the paper dress cos I'm nosy.

+2 kudos points for your skull polka dot paper dress!

Its for a paper wedding anniversary party this weekend, everybody is coming dressed in paper.
I want to make a paper handbag and a string of paper beads, from paper cubes, as well :).
