here it is. since no one puts out albums this close to the end of the year, i thought it was a good time to talk about my favorite albums of 2007. i went mainly by play count to determine them. again, these are not in any one-to-ten order. but, i will say that feist and the national made the albums i listened to the most. going by straight play count, feist's the reminder beats out everyone easily.

the national- boxer
feist- the reminder
elliot smith- new moon
wilco- sky blue sky
the arcade fire- neon bible
the good, the bad and the queen- s/t
life without buildings- live at the annadale hotel
tegan and sara- the con
source victoria- the fast escape
nick drake- family tree

and, i have to give credit to peter, bjorn and john's album, writer's block, who takes my "most-listened-to-album-from-last-year-which-i-discovered-this-year" award.

Feist and Arcade Fire are amazing. I'm still listening to the last Tegan and Sara. Thanks for the links to everyone else!

Your new album was my favourite' ah-let them shove off.until vexed time...

Jim...you spelled Elliott incorrectly. I'm sure that was just a slipup, but you know how Elliott fans are. :)

The Arcade fire is also on my top ten list.

That's about the only overlap. I liked TGTB&TQ, but it didn't quite hit me as hard as the rest of my list. Which, sadly since Fall Out Boy is on it, is sad.

01. Jimmy Eat World – Chase This Light
02. Manic Street Preachers – Send Away The Tigers
03. Against Me! – New Wave
04. Arcade Fire – Neon Bible
05. HUMANWINE – Fighting Naked
06. Bruce Springsteen – Magic
07. Fall Out Boy – Infinity On High
08. Cobra Starship - ¡Viva La Cobra!
09. Of Montreal – Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destoyer?
10. Say Anything – In Defense of the Genre

And no, I didn't put you on top of the list so I could kiss your ass. I genuinely think that of all the new albums I've bought this year, your was the best, and brought me the most joy.
Thank you.

I second the Peter, Bjorn and John. I have to say the band (person) that I SADLY just got around to truly giving a full chance to this year and that I enjoyed the most was "Iron and Wine". The iTunes Acoustic Album is incredible. His lyrics are simply true and sometimes profound.
