Dear friends,

when things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter.

We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on "Holographic Universe" would be hard if not impossible to sing live. So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?

The answer is YES! Instead of hiring a new singer, we decided - some of you might already have figured it out by now - to recruit TWO singers! The idea of having two vocalists in the band is something that's been in the back of our minds for a long time, and after auditioning and rehearsing with two of Sweden's best vocalists we're thrilled, excited, stoked-beyond-belief!!!

So let us introduce you to...

ROBERTH KARLSSON -
lead growl vocals and backing clean vocals
Roberth was our first choice for the growling position. Jonas once called him "Sweden's finest growler", which is no overstatement. Roberth has been involved in many band throughout the years, among others Edge of Sanity and Facebreaker.

LARS PALMQVIST -
lead clean vocals and backing growl vocals
Roberth introduced us to his long-time friend Lars, who blew us away with his powerful-yet-beautiful voice. You can imagine our excitement when we learned that he's a fantastic growler as well! Despite his amazing talents he's virtually unknown to the metal public, which just might change as of today!

We are very fortunate to have found these guys. They bring to the band not only their incredible skills but also a positive vibe we haven't had for some time.

We've posted a videoclip from when we auditioned Roberth and Lars, as a little teaser... Yes it might come across as we were drunk the entire time, which probably is very close to the truth. Enjoy!

After we disclosed the news about Christian leaving Scar Symmetry, we received a lot of applications for the vocalist-spot, both from unknown and well-known singers, from all around the world. Though we had already decided upon Roberth and Lars, it was really cool to listen to all of you! We didn't have time to reply to everyone, so here's a big THANK YOU to all of you who made the effort to send us your stuff!

Stay tuned for more news and updates!!!

I can't wait to hear the new Scar Symmetry!

We'll all miss Christian, but hey, sometimes you have no choice, and I was worried you guys would call it quits after that.
Thank you for staying strong and sticking to things!

You guys are absolutely amazing!

I wana say im a die hard Symmetry fan and love the latest cd holographic universe... but after watching the video several times and comparing Roberth Karlsson, Lars Palmqvist to Christian. those two are great but they dont have the same style that Christian had. For Ex Lars singing stlyle is similar to ZP Theart from Dragon Force. Im still gona wait around like a fat kid for dessert for your next Cd and your tour line up. And hope to see you guys in the U.S.
but untill then keep it real

Actually I thought he sounded like Stu Block from Into Eternity rather than ZP. But a believable comparison nonetheless.

Agreed.

Robert seems to hit the lows quite well, but Lars seems to be struggling with the melodic highs that christian hit. A little more refinement and you guys have it.

I was intrigued to see how you guys would find a guy that had the singing AND screaming talents of Christian, but I see now that you couldn't. Don't get me wrong, these two guys are GREAT, and i'm happy to hear that they are a part of one of my favorite bands. I am anxiously going to await your next album.
Good luck on tour bro's!

Awesome!! I don't honestly think anyone can replace Christian, as he was an amazing fucking vocalist! But these guys sound like they'll pull it off quite well. (Plus, I don't think the majority of Holographic Universe could be done live by Christian alone).

Anyhow, now that this is all taken care of, get your asses over to the U.S.
!! And make sure you lock in a fucking San Francisco/Bay Area show too!!!

Cheers fuckers!!

Thank you for not turning your back on the dynamic sound you guys have developed over the past 3 albums!!!!!!

I'm liking the two new vocalist, but it just seems different without Christian. But hey, ROBERTH KARLSSON IS EPIC WIN! Insane growls, they barley beat Christian's IMO. But Lars, I think he has a lot to amount to if he's going to perform some of Christian's clean singing live.

But I feel these two will be great when they record their own material with you guys :)

And just for the Christian Alvestam fan boys and girls, he is currently doing work in Miseration. http://www. myspace. com/miseration

Check them out.

Wow, I'm really happy for you guys. Glad you didn't decide to quit and call it a day with Scar Symmetry. And those new singers seem to be really good and I'm really, really impressed. I will miss Christian though and the fact that you needed two people to replace one guy speaks for itself. He was, is and will be one of the best singers in the world. But anyway, good luck to you and I'm looking forward to hearing some new stuff.
Take care and cheers from Poland :)

i am impressed you guys , i am so happy for you all to have some positive vibes goin through the scars camp at the moment, so fuck all you none believers and people who are judging the new vocalists already when you have only heard them on a crappy piece of VT, just you wait till the next album and you will all be eating dog shit sandwiches ! i loved the sound the band achieved with cristian as much as the next fan but have none of you heard of A-tuning and studio tweaking here and there do you really believe chris hit all those notes unaided ? GOOD LUCK SCAR SYMMETRY!!! and prove to all these people that cant accept change that it was needed in order to achieve your goals !

all my best

It kills me to say this but in many ways, Roberth and Lars bring the band to new heights of vocalization, something Christian couldn't do as one man. Christian was great as former singer, but the new two absolutely kick ass. Good luck in the future guys. Hope to see you in the US again soon.

It's nice to know that SS isn't breaking up, I still have faith in you guys and the new vocalists; but one thing is clear: Without Christian, Scar Symmetry will never be the same. P.S.
Are you guys re-releasing Holographic Universe with the Lars and Roberth as the vocalists?

I Live To Unlock You

Am I the only one who has a problem with 2 lead singers?
You're getting 2 guys to replace what Christian could do by himself. I don't like that.

I'm glad the band is still together but I think this could gone better. They didn't sound very good in the video to me. Lars looks like he's having a hard time hitting some of the notes Christian did. It'd be better if you just recorded some new material rather then trying to play the songs Christian sang.

I'm still always gonna love Scar Symmetry. I mean I bought Holographic Universe. So I'll just wait and see how all this will turn out in the end.

Thanks.

like i said before i live to unlock you , the band have already told you that the songs off holographic were almost impossible for chris to have sung live so effectively the band are saying he couldnt do the vocals by himself and the reason they dont sound fantasic on the vid is cause its just a vid not a full scale production jobbie ! and wait till the next album with roberth and lars on vox and you too will be eating a nice dog shit sandwich !
