I'm psyched that the cats out of the bag and we were able to tell you guy all about SHADOW PUPPETS.  Beyond the title and general idea, I can only tell you a little (and, as the series isn't coming out for a few months, I shouldn't spill much yet), so I will go over what can be revealed thus far, from (A) my posts on other sites and (B) Chris Ryall's posts on other sites.

1. It's the same creative team as SPIKE:ASYLUM.  But, you know, less prison, more puppets.

2. It is 4 issues instead of ASYLUM's five.  My apologies.  But there are tons of puppets in this one, people.  That makes up for the lack of fifth issue.

3. As you can tell from the Ad, there appears to be Ninja.  This much is true.  And yes, one could gauge that said Ninja are in fact, puppets.  And one would be right if one assumed that.   Why Ninja?  Well, mostly because...

4...much of SHADOW PUPPETS takes place in Japan.  See, Smile Time was defeated in America, but the Japanese spin-off off-shoot, that's still there.  So that means sushi jokes and more importantly...

5.  Spike with a sword.  A lot.  Hooray. 

6. Spike isn't doing this alone.  Anyone that reads ASYLUM knows I so very much love another character from the ANGEL show almost as much as (and, on some days, more than) Spike himself.  

7.  Most everyone I showed this ad to had the same question: "Why is your hand on my knee?"  Which was followed by "oh oh oh does Spike turn into a Puppet too, like Angel did?"  I will not confirm or deny, but I will say that it would be very dissapointing to a lot of people if he didn't, huh? 

8. And let me just say this: I've carved out a middling-to-successful screenwriting career, all because of a spec script I wrote starring the Muppets, years back.  I wrote it for fun, it got passed around Hollywood, Henson bought it, and here we are today.  The reason I wrote the script was not to be "discovered" or anything, I wrote it because I love the Muppets more than I should.  Every character, every movie, every damn Pizza Hut commercial.  The only other group of characters I like as much as the Muppets?  Yep, everyone in the Buffyverse.  So you can imagine how exciting this is for me.

But hey, ASYLUM ain't done yet, it's got a HUGE ending in just a couple of weeks.  Action, death, days being saved and vampires coming to terms with just who they are.  I hope you guys stick around, between ASYLUM, OLD ANG SYNE and SHADOW PUPPETS we have some really fun stuff planned.
