What you’re about to see is awesome. If you don’t mind, don’t swipe the pictures just yet, just link to the blog, at least for a couple of days. I thank you in advance.

My gift to you this Thursday afternoon (which, in turn was a gift to me this Thursday morning) is Alex Garner’s fantastic cover to ANGEL:AFTER THE FALL 10. First of all, wow, 10. Second of all, yes, this happens in the book, and third, this cover is awesome because Angel really looks human and older and worn out. His companion, however, fred as a daisy. FRESH, dammit, fresh, sorry.

Here you go:

Stunning, isn’t it?

And, as an added bonus, the finished cover to the last issue of EVERYBODY’S DEAD (that’s issue 5 for those counting at home), by Dave Crosland, colors by Len O’Grady. How beautiful is this:

So concludes "Heroes taking on giant hordes of evil" Thursday. Enjoy your day!

PS: anyone with free time on Saturday should come to this:

Wow brilliant cover! I kind of wish I didn't look though because it has ruined the "Is Fred back" cliffhanger from Angel: After The Fall Part 5. Although this is probably the best cover so far...they are really getting alot better, Love AATF

I guess I feel really dumb, because everyone keeps saying that this cover reveals something about Fred. But I don't see anything significant - I just see Angel and Illyria. What am I missing??

The Angel cover looks AMAZING! I was going to use some profanity (the good kind) but I thought I would keep my comment PG =)

Very, very bad-ass. Looks like my faves from "Everybody's Dead" survive at least until issue five, and 10 of Angel looks to be great. Gotta tell you, 100% improvement after the slew of photo covers we saw for 9. Any change Garner did a cover for 9, too? ;)

If Angel is looking old and worn out, does that mean that Wolfram & Hart might use the Shanshu against him in some way, like accelerating his age? I remember how they only brought Darla back long enough for her to come down with Syphilis (sp?) again. I have so many questions in my mind about how long W & H will own the Shanshu prophecy, if Angel will escape his contract and become a vampire again because he has more atonement to do, or if the PTB will step in and say that Angel isn't responsible for that year's events and is free to live as human.

Love the cover. :)

It sounds like W + H were the cause of the Shanshu prophecy from the start, or at least manipulating it to their own hidden agenda/s.

"and third, this cover is awesome because Angel really looks human and older and worn out."

My first reaction was "Angel looks too old", but you're so right, he's human now. It's perfect. Can't wait.

Gorgeous -- how nifty is it that 'old, worn Angel' looks like Boreanaz does at this very moment.

The comment "fred as a daisy" is a little difficult not to notice, so I guess Fred and Illyria won't be separated? Someone theorized that it might not be true that Fred's soul was destroyed, and Fred and Illyria might be, in a way, battling for control of the "shell." What you said makes it sound like Illyria in that cover is really Fred.

I'm trying to understand the picture.

Is it snowing in Hell?

I guess that would sort of explain why we don't see their feet and the blueish mist wafting away from Angels mouth.
