I've been putting this off for so long and I can explain why… You know when you haven't talked to one of your good friends in a while and there's just so much to say, that you have no idea where to start?  That's how I feel.  I have a lot to tell y'all.  As an "artist", there is always something on my mind and a circus of events happening around me.  People I meet, yes celebrities, stories to tell, social injustice issues that I want you all to know about, things I've learned or seen firsthand that have opened my eyes and made me laugh or broken my heart…To stupid personal stuff that I'm not even sure you'll be interested in.  But, maybe you will???  I'm silly too, so I don't wanna be too serious, all the time.  I'll write a better blog later and let you in on some pretty cool stories!

First of all, I wanna thank you for all your support!  I'm a person who really does believe that without you, I'd be singin' to an audience of shampoo and conditioner bottles up in my shower.  Y'all mean the world to me, and there isn't a day that goes by, that I don't remember that and am humbled and grateful to you for it.  So, 4 real…Thank You!

PRESIDENT OBAMA!  I just wanna give big ups to Obama!!!  I'm beyond thrilled and honored that he's going to be our 44th President.  Most importantly, the first African-American President in US history!  It's about time.  Having an African-American daughter myself, that was a proud day for me as well.  I hope we get out of this War, cuz no one wins in a war.  I also hope that Obama will bring some light and awareness to what's going on in Africa.  Of course, Darfur is terrible, with the genocide going on there; but all of Africa needs help.  Those children need our help.  I guess the key word here, is Hope.

Well, today is my birthday…Feel free to send money .  Just playin'!  If ya wanna do anything, feed or help a child in Africa.  World Vision is great.  The Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for Women (girls, really) is in need of help more than you can imagine.  Or, just smile at someone, even if you feel like smackn' the s*** outta them!  Love and Kindness is a chain reaction.  Like 50' says (my translation)…Everyday, it's someone's birthday, right?
