Some might wonder about my handle here -- "Darth Mike." After all, I’ve got blogs for both personal stuff [Myspace,Xanga] and political stuff [Myspace,Xanga] -- why another one?

Simple -- because I felt like it. Long answer -- I need a place where I can let go, separate from pretensions of propriety (that’s saying something, considering what I’ve written in various email forums!). And as I say on the front page, maybe someone will be willing to pay me to be a smart-ass. I can hope, right?

As for the distinct handle, I’ve been something of a fan of Star Wars since I first saw it in the theater in June, 1977. (I was six years old then.) The only one that I did NOT see in theaters was Number "2" (Attack of the Clones). As such, while I understood that the Sith characters were evil assholes of the worst sort, I never understood what that meant until recently.

"What the fuck are you talking about, Mike?" I can hear you asking.

That’s simple -- the three most-murderous assholes amongst humanity -- Mao Zedong, Joseph Stalin, and Adolf Hitler, in that order, -- ordered the deaths of millions during their reigns. Yet I don’t think that any of them got up out of bed each morning with the thought "I’m going to be the most evil, sadistic fuck that I can be today." Each of them thought that he was doing what was best for his subjects and humanity in general.

Yet that’s exactly what the Sith do -- they’re a sick twist on the New Age "human potential" movement here on Earth -- think of Zig Ziglar dropping tactical nukes on population centers and saying "It will bring order" as the excuse. And when they’re not into that excuse, it’s simply power over others for its own sake --just for kicks.

With this profile, I’d like to open some sort of dialogue about this sort of thing while having a few laughs in the process. Sort of like a verbal / written / graphic version of BDSM.
