What a sad loss to you and to Ethiopian music. Our prayers go out to her family, her partners in music and to her people.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never met Tigist Shibabaw face to face but I felt as though I knew at least part of her through her music. If it is any comfort, at least it was in Bahar Dar, a beautiful and important place.

I had the pleasure and joy to meet Tigist and work with her. She was a light indeed, a very beautiful person inside and out. Tigist, we will meet again as death is not the end...

Such shocking news for me, even though I never met Tigist but simply enjoyed her voice and her music.

I cannot imagine what it is like for you to deal with.

Sympathy seems meaningless but it is all I can offer.

Thinking of you, who must go on from here.

I was so shocked to hear this (from Jill Turner - Gondwana Sound) , I really really love Bole 2 Harlem's music (so many thanks to Duke for sending it to me) - it is thrilling every time and people always ask what it is ! We play it often at home too. And I realise I have heard her voice on other music I like too. I feel that it might make it a little better that she was on a spiritual journey .... but that doesn't take away the loss.

I'll give her a special mention on African Essence
