Peace fam.
So, it's been 5 days since the cowardly + hella b*tch made car window smash n' grab to a few cars (including mine) outside of Friday nite's afterparty, which took place on Santa Fe Ave. in Downtown L.A...& as promised I'm here to give you the full git' down on what happened.
*Reward Update:
$1000 cash reward has been offered for return of all items and a separate $500 cash reward for any info leading to the return of all items (no police involved). 5 days has passed and no one has stepped up, so far.
So, in that regard, as many experts on these kinds of incidents & MANY other friends who have experienced something similar have expressed personally to me, it may pretty much be a wrap, at this point.
In the meantime though, for ALL my friends who wondered or heard what happened, here is the full story, w/ lesson.
Basically, it was one helluva party & much luv to ALL the attendee's & selectors, which were me, Garth Trinidad, DJ Jedi, & the brutha that put it all together; J.Logic.
This party started @ 11pm and went until 5am. When I left the pad on the way to the gig, it was around 12:30am. Upon leaving, I realized that I didn't have the directions, so instead of scrolling thru my text meassages or bothering people with an irritating phone call, I decided to just grab my laptop and peep the flyer that was saved on my desktop. Bad move! I should've simply slowed my roll and just looked at the flyer while at home and kept my laptop safely at home as well. Well, as you may have heard, that didn't happen.
Anyway, once there, I parked in the dark part of the parking lot (cause the lot was packed) which there was many cars that did the same, talked to a couple cats that parked near me and then I proceeded to mob to the entrance, w/ record bags in hand. Saw Garth on his way out, gave each other pounds, ('cause by then he was done with his set ) & then, boom I was in the spot.
Good vibes all over man...even though there was some 'unknown faces' around. No sweat. Seen it ALL before. Next, I made my way to the bar, talked to a few more people & checked out Jedi rockin' the crowd with heavy crowd pleasing movers.
Then, at around 2:25ish, I said to myself, as I sometimes do, "Let me go outside & catch a fresh air break away from the crowd before my set begins." I did just that. I strolled back over to my ride and I sat down for a minute inside. Took a deep breath, closed my eyes, made a quick phone call and even opened up my glove compartment and dummy checked my .22. 'cause I know that afterhours spots can sometimes be kinda shady...but overall I felt positive vibes in regards to  the whole nite. Nothing weird going on in the parking lot either that I would've noticed. Nothing.
Next, I jump out & head back into the party. This was around 2:30am, which was when I was scheduled to rock. Jedi set me up with some Prince joints & the party was in full swing. 2:45am hits &  I step up to the 1's & 2's, beginning with Trans X's "Living On Video" (Dub Version) and now I'm in full swing with my set. My set goes until around 3:45am with everything from Fingers Inc., & Gosub to O'Bryan & Kashif, to Parliament & Low Profile, to my joint "Black" from Rhythm Trax  + many more in between. People danced & had a good time!
Next, I set up J.Logic, who had just arrived from a gig in the O.C. It's now around 3:55am and I had decided to stick around on Logic's set for a taste & provide some mic action for the party people.
All was groovin' real well with Logic taking the party people to the House zone for good measure.
At this point, I decide "hey; let me stroll outside for another fresh air break".
I do this. As, I'm walking outside to my car saying hello's & goodbye's to friends, I finally get to my car only to discover...gat' damn!...My muthafuckin' window has been smashed, BOTH windows and start to realize my Laptop, CD's on spindles that had 'personal tracks' on them I was sorting out & working on, my mic stand, portable record player for diggin', and rare CD's by other artist had been taken in this shady smash n' grab.
Next, I look around...north, south, east, and west. No human activity! Then, I go to my glove compartment & grab one of the few things things these fucks didn't take; my .22. I mob up & down the alley, pistol in hand and again, no human activity.
Next, I jump in my ride & finally move it to a more lit up area. Then I go in and let Logic know; "Yo, muthafuckas smashed n' grabed on my ride parked outside". J.Logic makes an announcement, then I roll back outside to do more accessing of the situation. Security was way laxed man and only concerned about the door, but NOT the 'long lot' that everyone was parked in. Sure enough, as I asked around (mainly the security) they said they didn't see or hear anything. By this time, I done fuckin' gave up on the laxed security and decided to mob again myself thru the lot, still strapped only to discover other cats & partygoers standing outside their cars looking at their own windows busted with shattered glass everywhere and shit taken too.
Basically just a crazy azz night in the 'wild west atmosphere' of an afterhours party in downtown L.A. or any place in America for that matter!
The next day, I just had to chalk it up to the game & then hit the streets for some other 'undisclosed things' I had to do the next day around that area just on G.P.
Lesson/s learned in all this that took place, after again...ONE GREAT PARTY, is that:
1: These days, NEVER travel with a lot of  valubles in your ride with you, especially in this economy where negative cats are gettin' real desperate & tryin' to eat at any cost. Hell, the cost potentially being their own lives.
2: Always park in well lit places when going out on the town, especially in a non-regulated, 'you're on your own type' of atmosphere that an aftehours party is.
3: Make sure or inquire about security being aware at all times of suspicious activities & make sure you party at a spot where security or 'someone' is patrolling the fuckin' parking lot/s. Like, someone out there making a presence of some kind. Very important!
4: And, lastly...be vigilant. Look out for one another when partying late on the town. Walk each other to your cars, especially if it's a lady in your circle or the like.
Bottomline is, nobody 'including me' is immune to some of the shit that goes down on the negative tip out here in the big city at nite. The zombies come out at nite and they're definitely tryin' to eat!
One things for sure, it reminded me to stay alert, don't roll around 'whistling dixie' with valubales all up in my ride anymore & most definitley...keep my *.22 in place.
[*never 2 take someones life with though, 'cause I don't git down like that, & .22's usually only mame & NOT kill... yet, it's mainly to HURT a fool REAL BAD who decides to make that bad desicion on me, then we can deal with the rest later. When or if they come back after being HURT REAL BAD & they try to take MY life,...I'LL be the one to go to heaven! But, at that point when I'm gone, 'the fool' would have already been hurt real bad for tryin' some negative shit on me! So, that's basically my philosophy. Simple & plain.]
Done deal, all is cool & like I said earlier this week:
No one or nothing can stop the FUNK!
THE FUNK ONLY GETS STRONGER!!
I wanna send much thanx & luv to everybody who tryed to help, show concern & support  & who came to my aid worldwide in regards to my music being taken ('cause that was the MAIN THING I was disappointed about losing) in the weekend incident & just the overall situation, period.
You know who you are:

I appreciate it y'all.
*Also...please no benefits or fundraisers in my behalf. I'm just like everybody else man. We're ALL equal. I'm still standing strong! It was just a car break in. Hell, I live in the second biggest city in America. Shit happens sometimes! Done deal.

One Love.

Your purpose on earth is to make peace. As you have discovered this purpose, the power to heal relationships comes to rest in your hands. You hold the entire universe within yourself. Take all into your arms, and all persons and things reveal themselves to be the expression of God's Love for you, which is really your Love for Him.

Where there is Love, the purpose of life is understood. Where there is no love, there is nothing. We implore you to raise each precious moment of relationship up to the altar of the Most High. Hold your fellows in holy respect, and speak to all as you would speak to the holiest angel.
