There simply is no respect anymore. No respect for beliefs, no respects for individualism, no respect for humanity. I just read my friend Emily's note about a group called 'Americans For Truth' and I visited their website. It made me want to vomit and cry. This group is dedicated to 'educating' America and the world about what they call "The Solution to the Gay Problem". This made me remember something else along those lines, it was called "The Final Solution to the Jewish Problem". The 'Final Solution' to this imaginary malady was thought up by none other than Adolf Hitler. The solution as he saw it was mass extermonation and genocide. I want to know, where does all this hate come from. The same people who run this orginization also claim to be devout christians adn against the violence in Iraq and many other places in the world. Yet they fail to realise that just because it isn't neccesarily physical, that doesn't mean it is any less disgusting or violent. One thing every parent tries to preach, or at lest should try to, is understanding and compassion. Where is the understanding and compassion anymore? When did it become acceptable to shout hate and ignorance becasue you don't understand teh way someone live's their life. They are not asking you to take part in anything you don't want to, they aren't even asking for your blessing. all tehy are asking is that you let then life their life, and live it in peace. You may not agre with it, in fact i guarantee there are things in this world that make you want to spriral into blind rage at the near mention of, but I ask you, I beg you, do not hate something because you cannot understand it. Do not hate because the masses dictate that you should, groupthink is genocide of the mind. Finally, I ask you, love your neighbor like your brother and love the world like you love your friend. I have always made sure above all else that my friends know one thing about me if nothing else, that is that I would readily take a bullet for them, that no sacrifice is too great, and that nothing comes before them.

I agree with you one hundred percent. Hate and intolerance of any sort is wrong.
Why just the other day, I was looking at a website devoted wholly to the ridicule of Christianity, talking about how wrong-headed we all are and how there is no god and that the belief in god is idiotic, and I thought, "Hey, this is kind of hateful." Later, as I listened to Penn Jillette, David Cross, Bill Hicks, and Patton Oswalt talk about the sheer stupidity and insanity of Christians, I thought, "Hey, these guys are saying a lot of mean things."
Then, of course, there's the constant rallying cry of "All men are pigs," implying that we males are completely and totally driven by our sexual impulse and nothing else.
And, of course, coming around the bend are the early philosophies of Malcolm X, stating that all white people were evil oppressors.
And lest we forget the constant look of judgment that I get when I mention that I'm a registered Republican.
To be sure, there is hate thrown at all races, all genders, all philosophies. However, because some of these groups happen to be a bit more mainstream or in a place of power, the hate thrown at them is completely acceptable.
I truly am against any shouts of hate. I listen to some of my fellow Christians, as they shout out judgment at funerals and act as though they are without sin, and I shudder. I go to the website you were discussing and, indeed, it was very frustrating to see the things they were saying. However, it must be said that referring to a group of people as a "problem" and suggesting MASS GENOCIDE is considerably different.
But, to a lot of people, that's what we Christians are; just a bunch of almost-Nazis pounding our fists, crying out for the death of anybody different than us. The vast majority of us are not that, but, hey, who gives a shit about our feelings, right?

Congrats, Kiddo!

You pissed the AFA off with your heartfelt plea for understanding and compassion. It earned you a front page slam on their web site.

I commented about their reaction on my page and am letting others know about how your simple, honest comment was too much for them to take.

Carry this as a lesson. Any time you think your voice, action, or words are unheard, disregarded or meaningless, remember that people do take note of what you say.

Keep using your voice, forever and always.

Hmm...

I suppose it would look a heck of a lot better if I hadn't hit "post" two two many times!

You don't know me either but I posted a long expose about AFT and their lies on my site and a large chunk was dedicated to you.  You're in good hands.  Thanks!
