Last night something happened... something that was NEVER supposed to happen. They said hell would freeze over before Finland wins the Eurovision Song Contest.

I guess it got a little cold in hell yesterday night!

For my international friends, let me just tell you that our country went absolutely BANANAS after our monster-of-an-artist LORDI did the unthinkable and ranked #1! People went out in the streets, celebrating together, singing the winning song and a bunch of other national party anthems... I can't even imagine the sheer amount of press coverage next week! Whoah.

I was spinning records at a local nightclub here in my home town Seinäjoki when the contest took place. People were (for once) really interested in following it from the club's tv sets, and cheered all the way during the final points count. Everyone was AMAZED. Earlier our icehockey team had lost the semi-final match, and people were a little down. With Lordi's win, I guess the finnish people (as a whole) will feel a little lifted for months.

I for one am gonna attend the show next year, it may never come our way again... anyway, thanks and congrats to Lordi! That was some achievement.
