Yo , so its been a while , I havn't really had much to say , I still don't . I've started to feel it's my duty to write blogs , I didn't feel that before . Life is weird at the moment . Is it really important to break America ? If it is I have to write my life off for the next 9 months , playing the same gig answering the same questions to different journalists and such , or go home sit o my boyfriends sofa for a bit , then write a new album . what d'ya reckon ? As much as I love driving across America and doing the same thing every night , I'm bored slightly , this is no reflection on my audience , cause I have a huge amount of respect for them . It's the songs , I'm bored . Since January I've toured Japan , New Zealand annd Australia , I've done a European tour , gone to Paris fashion week , done a UK tour , spent one night at home , apparently I beat up some paparazzi , and now I'm on a US tour . It goes till May . I dunno what to do.

hey-lily-it may seem repititious-but your music is still fairly to new to americans and they are slow and dumb. I love singing along to your songs-they are friggin hillarious! And every chance i get i try to introduce yo shit to a friend and get them hooked-to be honest-i had never heard of you till i read an article in...blender i think...gave your album great reviews! I figured you couldnt be all that bad if they approved...and here we are today-one of my FAVORITES.

So take care and keep singing the songs your bored with to us loving fans-and we will wait for more patiently!

Hey Lilly, i can imagine that touring America is hard, everyone says it is cos theres so much to cover and it takes months, but to be honest if I was you i would stick at it, if you really crack that market, you will have more longevity in your career in the long run and there's nothing to stop you from jotting down ideas for new tracks whilst your touring, there must be alot of new things and experiences that your going through at the minute, you could even write one about your dog getting nabbed (lol).

 

Stick it at it, it's only another few months and trust me once you stop working and your at home for just 2 weeks you'll be itching to go back out there so hang in there girl.

If you're not happy, and your bored; and the place you really want to be atm is at home with your bf, then maybe you should do that. You might regret not being with him and your friends & family, although your probs thinking you might regret not doin' america too. I think most musicians would tell you to stay at home and write a new album - if your bored with touring your old songs. Yet your managment is probs like USA,USA,USA!
You've got such a huge fan base now tho, in europe and the USA, we all know who you are and we are desperate for a new album.
Although America is where all the big money is, do you really want to be touring 40 shows nearly every night? Would knackerrrrr you out. And like you said get V boring. I think you've got to think about what you're going to be happy with, now and in the future. Whether you can see yourself touring 40 nights just in the US in a row, not being able to escape from the paps over there as well as here, not being able to walk down the street without getting attacked by crazy American fans. Maybe the USA can be your hide away?
Just stay true to yourself, and your family, friends, fans, and the music!
Do what ever makes you the happiest.

Change something... Do a cover song and add it to your set list, or mix and change the songs frequently so it's not so monotenous... Write a new verse or something for a song that may be particularly boring to sing now... Make up your own stupid rumour about yourself and then give different answers to each journalist that wants to question you about it so you can chuckle to yourself... Meh, I don't know. Just try not to lose what makes you you, otherwise there's no no point anymore....

Write a new album. Do the US tour until you can get away - say in May. Forget about spending 9 months there. Ultimately if the product is good then it will sell, but if you don't spend any time on the writing then what have you achieved - a record for number of hotel rooms visited in a year?

Lily babe,

as we say here in Norn Iron ( northern ireland)  " keep her lit". Stick it out for a bit and then at least you can say I gave it my best go. Trust me I know how shite American Radio can be - lived in Bridgewater, Mass for six months ! OMG the radio -thank god for internet and RADIO 1 ! dont get me started on MTV !

But give it a whirl  and you never know what may come of it. And if nothing comes of it well at least you know that you still got us all here.
