So someone complained about no new blog. I guess I'm getting off my game here. Everything is good. Almost finished mixing 18 new Black Light Burns songs. So good, so good. Also, I've been dealing with this guy:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

...which is mainly just entertaining, but some nights he/she completely builds a new web and then other nights, like tonight, it's the one from the day before. I wonder why that is? I've been painting my ass off:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Getting ready for 3 upcoming art shows, and of course I always carry a kitchen knife on my belt at home. Don't you? Anyways. I hope everybody's having a great week. I'm on call for jury duty all week, so I've been calling in and it looks like I don't have to go in tomorrow. I wish I could just get it over with. Please enjoy this scene from one of my favorite movies ever: Phantom Of The Paradise:

I've been listening to Manson records for the past couple weeks now, seems to be the right type of music for this time. We're all wondering back here in Jax if a Manson show here would ever be possible again. Just to see you performing alongside Manson & Twiggy, a dream come true indeed. Well take care, and as always...

I VERY EXCITE!

cool, cool.
is it just 10/5 you'll be filling in guitar parts for, or are you going for the entire tour?
the nyc show date is a while from now (seriously. january 29th?) so i'm evaluating if it's worth going to.

That was January of this year, not next year. MM is just doing one offs right now and yes I'll be doing more than just the 5th.

cool, that makes a lot more sense...haha. yeah. i just thought it seemed a little bizarre that they'd post a tour date so much in advance (and apparently my brain will forever function in 2008 mode).

Come on man, play us a new track. It's not right for you to make serious music for addicts and then hold back our fix. Give us our fix Man.

Oh, and come to Jacksonville. It's like on the same road as your house (one of em). You see it everytime you go to Wendy's. Just pull over sometime and start playing.

I believe a wise man once said, "It's uncool to get tattoos after you turn 30." That same wise man should pull his pants up. Who do you think you are? Ned Beatty?

I got jury duty crap in the mail today, myself. So many criminals, so many suckers called upon to waste their precious lives playing God.

It looks like a "writing spider". Think Charlotte's Web. I can't remember the correct name for these spiders, but we found one this summer up in Michigan. I hadn't seen one before either, but he/she was very interesting to watch day in and day out.

I wish I could ask you a question about MM, but I was asked not to say anything yet. (I hate that)

Oh and I can't wait to get my art prints!! It was an early Christmas Gift to myself. I was excited to see your options for the different BLB packages.

Thanks!

Oh man, I love that painting, reminds me of the Helnwein photos for Manson in the R'NRoll hall of fame. You need to update your online gallery! And of course: come to Barcelona! With Manson and Black Light Burns!

Amazing painting mate! I used to paint and was rather good but that was like 15 years ago... but when I see stuff like that I might give it a shot again! Looking forward to the new CD! Bought the cover CD when I was in the US and some songs are really good - but the production could be improved - hope the new album will sound great!

Thank you for the updates concerning Marilyn Manson, and thank you for posting the artwork here, your painting is incredible. I have been looking over the work on the Borland Gallery and it is all extremely accomplished, I look forward to seeing more.

Similarly (I'm sure you don't begrudge people discovering music by association) I am very happy to have become familiar with Black Light Burns since you began your work with Manson. The music is fantastic, I can absolutely hear your influences and the heart that has gone into creating it. "Mesopotamia" in particular is a fucking fantastic song, the melodies you employ are gorgeous in places. I look forward to getting to know more about the band from now on.

I've made assertions about how I think you're an inspired choice for Marilyn Manson guitarist amongst the band's fan community, and the response seems very positive, so I hope that is mirrored in the audience you end up playing for on the 5th. Good luck for the show, and any further time spent with the band leading up to the release of the new album, which I still hope you have the chance to add to in some way.

S.D.

Spiders are amazing creatures. And they also present another example of how human beings are such spoiled, materialistic, and lazy beings. And I believe the spider doesn't rebuild every night b/c if the web is still stucturally sound, then why rebuild it. Don't fix what isn't broken mentallity maybe. Your artwork is amazing. Good luck with the MM show!

(Please don't bag on my spelling ppl, it's early!)
