Tuesday, November 18, 2008
Hey guys!  The last week has been a pretty crazy one!  I did a bunch of appearances on some shows, and I'll be on the Bonnie Hunt Show Tuesday haha.  I hope everyone's liking the album!  And thanks for sending in your opinions on what songs you like the most!  I love hearing about what you guys think, and really appreciate the great comments you've all been making.
I just wanted to tell you really quick about my weekend.  On Friday night I was supposed to go home, but we missed our flight.  So instead... we went to the Alanis Morissette concert, which was amazing!  I forgot how much I loved Alanis and how big of a fan I am.  There was a point in time where I was addicted to quite a few of her songs, and I still love her.  She is great live, and she gets into it in a really unique way.  If you haven't heard her before you should listen to Uninvited.  It's one of my favorite songs.  Another interesting fact about Uninvited that I learned is that the producer who produced the song, Rob Cavallo, produced David Cook's album.  Cool, huh?  Another good song of hers is Thank You.
On Saturday, we were able to go back home for a day.  I got to spend time with the family again, and what's cool is there just so happened to be an awesome concert that I didn't know about going on that day.  It was Lady Gaga, Natasha Bedingfield, and New Kids on the Block.  I didn't get to see a whole lot of Lady Gaga since I thought the concert started at 8, but that's when Natasha's set started haha.  But I finally got to see Natasha perform live!!  Of course I was loving it lol.  She did amazing, and I was really happy that I got to see her in concert in Utah.  I never thought I'd get the chance to, especially at the beginning when she wasn't really known in the US yet.  I really admire the way she's gone with her music and career, and how sweet of a person she is!  She is just down to earth and stays true to herself -- whether it's in person, in her music, or on stage.  New Kids on the Block were also amazing too!  I couldn't believe how great of a concert they could still put on, and for a comeback tour.  It was full of energy the whole way through!  My family went too, so it was great to be able to all spend time together at a concert.  A couple of my friends were also able to go, and they said it was the best concert they've been to.  I can't believe how many concerts I've been able to go to lately!  I seriously have gone to more in the last little while than in my life.  You learn so much by watching the way people put on a show, and how they perform live.  I've been having such a great time.  I was never really into concerts before, but I guess now that I'm older I appreciate it a lot more.  Just being able to watch experienced people live is one of the greatest things ever.  Especially seeing artists who have inspired me so much.  Jason Mraz, Alanis Morissette, and Natasha Bedingfield have all been major influences for me, and being able to see all of them in concert is just incredible.  So I'm definitely a concert-goer now haha.  Seriously everyone, if you haven't been to a concert yet you should!  Especially if you're a singer, you learn A TON from watching the way someone performs.  And everyone does it their own way too.  Ah, I just love it!   But I've rambled a lot more than I wanted to haha.  I should probably get going.  We're back in LA, and I got to see Brooke and Ramiele!  It's always good to spend time with those guys.  Well I'm gonna run, but before I go I just want to remind everyone that Cook's album is coming out tomorrow!  So don't forget to show your support, and be prepared to listen to some awesome stuff!  haha.  Ciao.

Song for the day:  Put Your Arms Around Me - Natasha Bedingfield

HEY DAVID - I'm working right now and listening to your CD. Just thought you'd like to know that! Don't know much about Alanis, but I will give her a listen because you said so. You have great taste. I saw NKOTB a long, long time ago when they were popular and they were great, but girls were so crazy they stood on their chairs and I could not see. I think I even pushed someone off so I could see! So now you know more than one song of theirs, huh? Well, I am glad that you are having fun and learning at the same time, and I hope you are not anywhere near those fires in LA, and I hope that Brooke's house is not either. You can ramble as much as you want. I love it! Thanks for the blog. Love ya David!!

Wow, great concerts! I love seeing my favorite artists in person. Listening to songs in the car or on my iPod is great, but there is nothing better than getting to hear them live. And what a great assortment of singers you've seen in the last couple weeks!

Still loving your amazing album, David. My favorits songs change from day to day -- they are all so good!

Take care.

Oh, and speaking of concerts, I totally agree with you, David... For all of you who haven't been to a concert before, you should definitely go to one!!

I saw Natasha Bedingfield at the Y100 Jingle Ball last December, and I was never really a fan of hers, but, she was actually pretty good!! Haha And, I'm going to see Lady Gaga at this years Y100 Jingle Ball in South Florida!! Haha It looks like we've seen a lot of the same people in concert, David!! That's so AWESOME!! And, I'm really happy to hear that you had a great time at the shows!!

By the way, speaking of the Y100 JINGLE BALL in SOUTH FLORIDA, there have been a ton of rumours floating around about you showing up at the show in Florida as a SPECIAL GUEST/PERFORMER... And, yeah, I know that you're already going to quite a few of those shows across the country... But, anyway, could you please clear this up -- Are you attending the Florida Jingle Ball on December 13, 2008 or not?!

I'm going to that show, and I'd seriously die if you ended up being there!! So, anyway, if you could PLEASE let us know for sure, that'd be so AWESOME!! =) ♥ ♥ ♥

Hey David, I am glad that you are able to go to several concerts and get so many good ideas from them; that is wonderful. It is so good that you have a chance to spend time with your family and close friends; I am very happy for you. I have enjoyed so many of your inteviews this past week. I have been very busy doing my work and so on, but so good to be able to take the time to hear what all is going on in your life by your blogs and videos and also from Fans of David--hey I also moderate the chats at times there. You are a very sincere person who stands up for what you believe in. You try to take your time and make the best decisions you can--those are qualities that I also try to do. Sometimes I take a long time to do so, but I would rather do that than cause a mess or hurt someone. I identify with you in several ways; I guess that is why you are so special. Have a good Thanksgiving.
Your Kentucky friend,
Dave

I went to a New Kids on the Block concert when I was reaaaally little. lol. That was when they were famous the first time around. haha.

I'm so glad you've been able to go to all these concerts. I don't get to go that often because here in Hawaii we really don't get too many acts coming our way. Something about travel expenses, blah blah blah. You know, the Pacific Ocean and all (darn water).

OH. You were awesome last week on all those TV shows. Can't wait to see you on Bonnie Hunt--I love her; she's hilarious. If you haven't already seen it, go watch Return to Me (which she stars in, wrote and directed). I *love* that movie. The DVD commentary by her is also really funny.

Hey David! First of all, I am really enjoying your CD! I have all your songs on my iPod and I listen to it at work whenever I can.

It is great you are enjoying your spare time, especially getting to attend all those concerts. I think it is good for you to learn from all the different artists on how they perform and how they get in touch with the audience. You will do just fine on your own when you have your solo concert.

Take care for now!

And the I went to 2 of the AI concerts this summer (because of you!!). But I plan on going to more in the future. Once I get more money....ahaha. Wow, it sounds like you're having a lot of fun! I've been to tons of concerts and I love it! The best concert I ever want to was the American Idol Tour with you though :) I've seen Jason Mraz twice too, and he's a lot of fun. Natasha Bedingfield is one lucky girl to have you compliment her ways like that. I haven't listened to her much other than her singles, but if you like her... she has to be amazing! I'll definitely check out the song of the day. I'll for sure show my support for Cook, he's awesome too! Can't wait to see you on the Bonnie Hunt show tomorrow!!
