Current mood:  silly
Howdy good friends,

As per usual, we try to keep our fat mouths shut about stuff until the very last moment. And to quote our favorite Tomas while he was frantically running to the bathroom, "This is the last moment!" That memory still makes me giggle. Let's address the recent signing, shall we...

Lambgoat don't lie. We have indeed signed to Metal Blade Records. Having been intensely fanatic about the majority of their bands (yes, even The Goo Goo Dolls, but more so Cryptic Slaughter) for upwards of 20 years, we are honored to be welcomed to their family. Like I told the label, Metal Blade may very well be more responsible for raising me than my mother. Sorry Mom, but you must admit I spent quite a lot of time with Slayer and Voivod in those formative years...

So, onward and upward - just as Eugene Morris Jerome always says at the end of Brighton Beach Memoirs...

We plan on spending this coming winter writing for our Metal Blade debut. This summer, in case those interested aren't aware, we are touring Europe with our pals in Remembering Never and Parkway Drive. We follow that up with two 3 week jaunts in The States with yet more pals of ours; the first 3 weeks we'll be out with Dead To Fall and Phoenix Mourning. The second 3 weeks 100 Demons picks up where Dead To Fall leaves off, and Iowa's premier bodybuilders Ignite The Will join us for select dates. Twelve Tribes and One Dead Three Wounded will be rocking the tour all 6 weeks. All in all that's not such a bad way to spend some time. We're more than happy to worsen our hearing with such quality noise. We're definitely too old. Turn it down!

No matter how hard I try to keep these brief, I always manage to write more than anyone should care to read. Sorry about that. I should have had such problems in high school, right Mom? I can partially thank Metal Blade for that. Hey, while we're thanking people, we'd like to give tremendous thanks to our friends, some of the current heavyweights of Metal Blade for bombarding the label with our name. Our friends in As I Lay Dying, The Black Dahlia Murder, Into The Moat, The Red Chord, and Unearth really went to bat for us. Thanks a lot for pushing for us the way you did fellas. We'll see you soon. And as always, our couches are your couches.

Almost lastly:

The reissue CD's are pressed, complete, and in our hands, though I actually gave mine away. What the hell do I need them for? The release date for said CD's is August 29th. They are available through Revelation Records, and you should be able to get them at most stores (I think). You'll definitely be able to get them from your favorite punk/hardcore friendly webstore. Here are links to each CD on www.revhq.com for more information.

A Profound Hatred Of Man: Shrapnel Inc.

Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion

Though it's not listed anywhere in the booklet, the original mix of Hearts Once Nourished is included on the CD as files. That's for you purists who are sure to prefer the originals to the redux. To each her own. To access the original mix, just pop the CD in your computer and open the folder "Shai Hulud". It's not specified as being the original mix, but you'll know which is which. Just take a listen. The difference is bloomin' obvious.

The vinyl picture discs of these reissues will surface sometime after the CD's. We have no release date for those just yet. Once we do, you do. Do you? We know you do. How sickening.

And now, lastly but not leastly:

Thanks for taking the time to read about our band. We appreciate it, but it's certainly not the most important thing going on right now. Take a brief moment out of your day to read about what's going on in Israel and Lebanon, or any of the current tragedies and horrors of your choice, domestic or international. We'll be the first to admit how ignorant we often are to world issues. We all get caught up in the hustle of our personal crap, and think our world is ending when something doesn't exactly go our way - some store is out of your favorite coffee, you bought the wrong gauge guitar strings, some guy/girl doesn't call you back, what have you... All this while worlds are ending. Gaining knowledge is fairly easy. What to believe, understanding who's right and who's wrong, and sifting through the bullshit, that's more difficult. Still, the knowledge is obtainable, and when you see the gruesome results you might not care who's right, you just want the problem to end. Immediately. Images of shattered children and people ripped to shreds tend to have that effect.

Far be it from us to preach about being aware or more involved. We're just as, if not more guilty than anyone else. I'm mostly writing this to kick myself in the ass, as much as I bitch about stuff that doesn't really matter.

No silly links for that last section, but here are some real links you should check out. Take a look if you get a moment...

Peace. Really...

This is great news. I'm so happy for Hulud and can't wait for new material and hopefully a show near (Colorado). Nice mention of the Israe/Lebanonl situation. That along with that fucking mess of a war in Iraq should be enough to piss anyone in their right mind off. I'm trying to do my part by reading and learning more about the situation and listen to a lot of Propagandhi.

Now get working on the new album.

Congratulation for signing to Metal Blade. How you won't keep us waiting as long as for "That within blood..."... ;-)
Just about to to buy tix for the Ieper Fest and the Hamburg show in September. Can't wait to see you guys again...

Good call to step aside our tiny personal problems and have a look on the real conflicts! When will mankind learn their lessons? Although George Galloway does some pretty good points in the interview you linked, we should not overlook that he has some - let's say - discussible opinions (Hisbollah is not fighting for "their country", because they are not the Lebanese government; he's slightly ignoring the UN resolution 1559; and so on...)

wait, so a tour with the Goo Goo Dolls is in the works. Awesome. They are quite the guilty pleasure.

Congrats. GWAR is/was also on Metal Blade. If you could steal their corpsegrinder for your New England shows, that would be phenomonal.

this is for madd matt...
this is steve wallace who used to talk to you a bunch
before jerking off took priority to e-mailing that is...
I was the guy who lived in Virginia who moved to Missouri who, at that time, longed to be your new singer...
(by the way... the new song kicks ass!!!)
so yeah...
I still introduce just aboute everyone I know to "given flight by demon's wings"...

I can't wait for a new record!!

you should definitely leak to me... and only to me... the instrumentals
cause I am telling you now
and ONLY YOU
that you can hear the instrumentals for my new band MERICAN SUPLEX online if you want

www.myspace.com/mericansuplex
the link thing for myspace did not work for me
now I want to cry like a little emo kid at a shai hulud show for realizing that real hardcore is not defined by how trendy your hair cut is....

hope all is well in the hulud camp....
when you get near Springfield Missouri you defnitely have a place to stay!!!
unless, that is, of course if you do not have hotel/motels

CDB (2002 - 2008) 3 NEW SONGS

Are you going to keep on under the name of Shai Hulud? I like a lot more than The Warmth Of Red Blood. I can't wait to hear your new and profesionally-produced-metal-sounding stuff. You must tell your labelmates how to play and what haircut not to wear.

the ditch bitch got hitched!

yeah my comment is at the bottom and no one is probably going to read this. does anyone have an idea of what this means...to me or anyone else who loves the fuck out of some hulud? this band small as they are have made a mighty impression on my life. i'm grateful that they have not called it quits. congrats on the signing, men! now my shai hulud tattoo won't be unjust.

p.s. i'd give more kudos, but tom is a stingy bastard.
