Who Gives Kudos:

Friday, October 05, 2007

Hello everybody, this felt like as good a time as any to say hello to you all at last.  ..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The first and main reason is to let you all know I'm playing a 'secret' gig next week, Thursday 11th October at Sankeys new night 'The Aftershow'.

There's no public awareness as to who plays at these nights, it's down to the artist to exclusively let you know, which is what I am doing now (I'm a week late though).  You can click on this link to buy tickets, which only cost £5, and for that you get to see several bands on the night, including BEEP SEALS (ex Alfie) JIM NOIR, more and myself.  Also many DJs including EMBRACE DJs Danny and Richard McNamara.

If you'd like to be there subscribe soon, or if you can't go let someone else know instead.  Hope to see you there.

Secondly, I like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to you all for your support over not only the last year, but the last 10 years too.  September marked my 10th Anniversary as a recording artist, and my birthday this week psychologically marked the end of this current album's life cycle.  Thanks to anyone who came to see myself and the band play this year.  We've had some amazing and memorable shows and they never happen without a responsive audience, so thanks again if you were there.

My intention is to release brand new material before the end of the year in the form of an EP or maybe MINI LP, even if it's a collection of demos, I'm eager to move on creatively.

PS Next weeks show may be one of the last I play this year, so try and make it if you can.

I'll keep you posted about anything else on the horizon.

Lots of love DAMON BDB

PPS I'm donating my fee for next weeks show to charities that were dear to Tony Wilson.

Wish I could be there. I did get to see you a few years back in Columbus Ohio. I hope you'll come back again someday. I really enjoyed it. Have a great day and keep doing that thing you do.
Peace,
Debbie

Sometmes...okay, make that a lot of the times, I wish I lived in the UK, and no I'm not one of those Americans who wears british flags and only listens to the clash because, hey, it's hip. I listen to the Barenaked Ladies for crying out loud. But I do wish I had the opportunity to see more of the overseas bands I truely adore, such as you sir, you really make finding music a treat. Maybe someday I can see you live, I await that greatly, as well as any new material you happen to grace us with. Thanks for it all Damon. Thank you so much.

Joshua.

I can't believe it's been 10 years!! I remember when you first showed up on the scene and it seems like a blink of the eye. Your last/first 10 years have been sheer brilliance on your behalf, some of the best acoustic/commercial songs to have crossed into the mainstream in many an eon (possibly the only ones).

Take care and thank you for music, you've touched a million souls and hearts and funnybone's!

Peace & Love

Hey Damon - Thanks to you!! Hard to believe it's been 10 years since you first graced us with your wonderful "badlyness". Please do keep it coming....

Godspeed and good luck for the rest of the year.

HI Damon,

Gutted I can't make it up to Manchester for this. Thanks for a great album and some great gigs. Looking forward to the new stuff - it's a great idea to get it out there asap. The demos were some of my favourites from the Twisted Nerve days.

damon,

this is gonna be a mint night, lost count of the times i've seen you live - each time is different. loved stockport the most and the fact that you thought no-one would show up made me laugh.

i've got a memory of planet k - walking past there on a summers day when it first opened as a cafe bar - and stood at the open door with a massive smile on my face as the barman skipped round the empty bar to "once round the block" blasting out the speakers.

keep up the goodwork,

dazzla
