okay now everyone has had this shit - i've smoked a great deal of it. i said in a blog ages ago it can't be good for us and guess what. its slowly turning out to be really really really not good for us

i suggest any cannabis smoker or friend / relative of a cannabis smoker click here and read it. then inform everyone you know of who smokes it and make sure they understand the severity of this shit, it is in no way benign.

basically its silica sand, which causes silicosis which is life shortening and irreversable. and thats just if you've worked around it so imagine how bad for you it is to burn and inhale it?? people with the acute variety usualy die within a year. you can read more about it here.

now i'm shitting myself cause for the last few months i've been getting chest infection after chest infection - and the pains i'm currently getting in my lungs when i run are no laughing matter. i'm off to the docs next week.

even 'the people' newspaper ran a tiny bit about this shit here. notice them calling it deadly and contaminated. not good.

thanks to our government for letting us all know!! no doubt they have known for months but to them its actually a positive. instead of something like this bringing it nearer to being legalised where it can be controlled and non profiting to the drug lords they so want to put away - its just seen as success of their prohibition. its bollox.

no jokes this time people its all quite serious.

all the same if anyones got a regular supply of silica sand free weed let me know ;p

only joking! i quit. no wonder my voice is so shit - i've now spoken to people who've lost their voice from smoking this shit - and they don't do anything other than talk with theirs! fingers crossed with me not smoking i'll be back to full health and its nothing permenant.

for real, ive always known bout dat stuff blood, there is a story behind it in these ends still...

blood, i swear down, i live in reading, as soon as the annual reading festival came, there was a drought, literally, for months, (which, like the festival is annual around that time of year..lol) there was no high grade skunk, had to go back to weed...

But when the skunk started returning around late october time, i instantly started noticing it....everyone was saying to me...'LOOK AT THE CRYSTALS ON THIS GREEN, U KNOW DIS IS BOOM GRADE...' but when i smoked it, the 'grit' would shoot its way thru my roach and make my teeth grind...i would even make obscure shaped rooaches to stop it shooting, and it still managed to shoot...so i stuck to the weed or looked for skunk without the crystals...i was tellin my mates for time not to smoke it, i knew from start, it werent thc, but my mates was like, 'nah ure just prang...' trying to talk to me like i aint a weed conisuer like..lol i hate to sound like a know it all, but i knew that a) it werent right, and b) it couldn't be good for you....

i have actually been quite ill at the moment as well, FOR A MONTH..so im suspecting dat fucking silica could be something to do with it...bloodfire, im shook...

so thank you professor green for confirming what i allready suspected....trust the 'professor' of green to have the answer...im scared, cos ive smoke a bit of it...im definetly sticking to weed from now on....i dont care if the buzz aint the same...

i've been bunning for 10yrs. i knew it was wrong straight away - i started bunnin weed instead but did bun a piece of that shit still. its serious man. the effects won't be instant but in ten - twenty years time i'm sure there will be repurcussions with people never knowingly exposed to silica having lung problems. its fucked

just to let you know, i have been aware of this for years and the chemical that have been added in skunk

 and high grade.....i used to get constant bad toothache

Im living In Swansea Wales, all the skunk down there since the drought has been damp as fuck or full of what we thought was sand (some fucking joker trying to make a k into k1/2!)

Ive seen this gritty stuff round 4 a while, and in all honesty have smoked a fair bit of it......................not good! Back home in Reading where im from seen the same shit as well, must be nationwide but only from ppl who get the homegrown uk ish, any import I've smoked been the same as ever.

Ive noticed chest infections becoming more and more frequent n lasting longer n longer.....

 

In short, stick with the weed or hashish!

Thanks for bringing that site to my attention man, a lot of people on the forum at www.everyonedoesit.co.uk have been talking about this for months now, but so far there's been no scientific research, just theories. All makes me wonder if the governenment are behind it, so far sand weed is the only thing that's ever made me consider quitting the herb, not just from a health point of view but I fucking hate being ripped off all the time. My first lot of "sand" weed came about during the summer weed droughts, good weed is still around but so much harder to get hold of than it used to be.

As usual, the governments out of date policies are costing the people of the UK their health and indeed lives :(

i didn't at any point say don't smoke herb, just don't smoke herb with grit on it as its extremely detrimental to your health. i've stopped puffin because i've been really ill and i've got a career to think about. after 10 years bunnin its not really something i wanna give up but i've got my priorities straight.

For real... The funk's been fucked since a coupla week's prior to Carnival ( August ). Hmmm. Let's think? The Govt' raid a load of big warehouses...Green dissapear's for a week or two, then it's been this shit in various form's...If your lucky, you could get small bit's of fresh sticky, then the Govt raid small timer's... Then just loadsa shit for month's..

Then decent stuff turns up in small quantities, from all over London, but you know it's from the same source...Small timer's still growin'...

My lung's are kinda heavy too, but then again, that's been that way for a few year's now.

People accept generally, that when you buy a bit of Eurohash, you know there will be a bit of plastic, vinyl or fuck knows, but it is accepted ( unless your lucky enough to get a bit from a different community ) will this happen with the funk???

I'm tellin ya to be frickin carefull about what your putting into your bodies here! it's pure poison, think about the future, as prof green says you may not feel it now but in 10-20 years this could really start showing on a wide scale, I'm packing in the fags as well they got frickin arsenic, benzene and about another 67 other cancer causing chemicals in.. Symptoms

The symptoms of silicosis include:

  • Tachypnea or shortness of breath after physical exertion
  • Dry or severe cough, often persistent and accompanied by hoarseness of the throat
  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Changes in breathing pattern (rapid breathing or shallow breathing)
  • Loss of appetite
  • Chest pain
  • Fever

you are BURNING THE HERB AND CRISTALS, ie THC NOT SILICA SAND, and if you were, it would't burn. look at it smell it it wouldnt kill, (workers in 3rd word are exposed to, class dangourly high, amounts daily frm the age of 8 and there life expectancy is 40, not bringing into the account that child death is high [which brings down the life exp] ) if it dont smell ie of the HERB, then u can say its from the mind.

it would be great if you were right, but i don't really appreciate you, a 17yr old pete doherty lookalike trying to educate me about weed. i've been around very high amounts of just about every strain you can imagine since i was a nipper. from red string and every other colour string thai, to commercial weed, to high grade (i don't mean good skunk, i mean high grade, yardie cess) to punk grown here, to what used to be the best skunk we got, the vacuum packed skunk that come from 'dam. oh, and just about every type of hash as well.

i know what thc is. i've smoked myself since i was 13 and everyone that knows me knows certain tings bro.

this shit came about just before carnival. it doesn't burn properly, and it smells off when you burn it. it kills your throat as you smoke it. sometimes the skunk its sprayed on seems wet, yet it won't dry even under lights. its where its had so much shit sprayed on it and it hasn't all crystallized.

so no smart arse i'm not telling you your herb is mined, i'm telling you that there is a spray which is used for frosting glass, which is being used on skunk to make up weight and make it appear to people who don't know any better - like there's loads of thc on the bud. when you come into contact with this shit, you'll realise.

look  i wasnt beeing cocky to you, just pointing out a few missing holes. but if you look above my comment here, some1 has got a reasonable explonation why silica sandis used. although its not 100 percent its better than nothing. and i feel sorry for the stupid people out there who are getting this stuff, time after time. but again, using silica sand is by no means the easiest way to dry the herb, MgO, procces ect.
and far more effeciant than silica, the only reason i could see silica being used that is one of the worlds most common mimeral.
and age does not bring wisdom in western soiciety

thanks so much mr green for posting about this, for a couple of months I had managed to find some homegrown. The drought has been going on for ages now and hit hard recently then the other day i got some skunk and found all those gritty bits. i thought i going nuts or that my roaches were shit - my friends blamed it on my paranoia. so thanks for setting the record straight. definitely going back to homegrown (if i can get hold of it) and will tell all my friends.
