There was 11 of us so it was less a critical mass and more a get in the road. Still, we took up two lanes down the Clydeside and caused a critical mass of cars to backup. Of course, with me having the trailer I was at the back getting all the abuse. :-) But I've heard much worse from hostile teenagers so I was cool with that. What I didn't enjoy though was the aggressive and dangerous overtaking into the lanes of oncoming traffic and deliberate manouevres to split the group and cut us up. It's funny how you get all the waves and positive toot-tooting from people coming in the opposite direction, but all the aggressive honking and shouting at the back of you. A car passenger threw a can of beer at me as he was overtaking, which I managed to dodge. I mean, ffs, one Friday of the month in one part of town and they're going berserk cos they have to slow down for 5 minutes. Why don't they get out their cars and shout at some traffic lights? We definitely need to double the numbers to have a safer mass so please join us. That said, it was still safer and more fun than cycling on your own in town and I'd do it every week if i could. :-)

Violence at Seattle's cm - perhaps surrounding a car, whatever the driver's behaviour, isn't worth considering -
