I wasn't there, but I was in Minneapolis and I know you're pretty hard on yourself. It's really hard for real artists like you and Mr. Lamontagne to be "bad bad bad bad." You guys feel every word that you sing and that is so obvious when anyone sees you perform. Chin up! It's a real treat to see you live and I'm sure everyone appreciated it as much as I.

Cheers,

Clayton

Don't we all have gigs like this? Our band played a venue the other night and got asked repeatedly for Bryan Adam's 'Summer of 69'.... We write and play acoustic music which is kind of like yours... so 'Summer of 69' wasn't going to happen. Got booed at the end too because we wouldn't take requests! But a few people who were there loved it so I guess if we only did it for them, we still achieved something. Keep your head high... There's always somebody there hearing you sing from the heart and taking your words and your music home with them. And the next gig will be better. Wish I could see you play, even on a bad day. Please come to Cornwall after your tour!!

Royal Oak Music Theatre?... Dont "Theatres" have seats?
Yes... the room was bad. the acoustics sucked... about like playing in the damn subway.
The only thing missing was fucking chicken wire in front of the stage.
so... forget about the royal oak "whatever it is"
and the people... I can't hardly even find the words. fucking ridiculous.
or how about this... oblivious, selfish, insolent drunks... I am never going back there.

However... YOU my dear... well you were perfect.
I was swimming in your voice and floating in the lyrics shaped around those beautiful lips.
If I could have I would have swallowed you up in my arms!
I loved the simple three peice with the jasons.
You are wonderful acoustically... if only under better circumstances, I know.
I loved the candid happenings... I was with you regardless of the rest of the crowd.

Its pretty much impossible for anything good to ever happen in Detroit... dont take it personally..

(any chance you have an empty guest list for Boulder? =) or..any chance you are just going to play by yourself at some secret little bar.. for people who only care about seeing your band?)

You are definitely too hard on yourself!! You were amazing. I came to see Mr. LaMontagne with my (ex?)-girlfriend after traveling 7000 miles from my current home in the south pacific. Having you begin was a treat. I really enjoyed what I heard and am sad that I was not able to find some more of your music while I was still in the states.

The biggest problems was crowd. I have never seen a more rude crowd in my life. At one point I had to pull some people next to me aside and ask them to quite down... actually I suggested if they wanted to have a conversation they should have gone to dinner instead of yelling at a concert ruining others experience... but whatever. I was quite annoyed having to deal with a very rude crowd after I spent 26 hours of travel to see this concert.

The venue was the secondary problems. The acoustics definitely were not where they should have been; however, had the crowd been more respectful we all would have had a much more enjoyable experience.

You were amazing, and I would definitely attend a show of yours again! Perhaps when I'm back in the states for good! Thank you for your amazing effort through all that "noise" in the crowd!! That is Detroit for you!
