Brussells...been a long time since i rock'nrolled.....
Just as were nearing the end of the tour I am now only just beginning to find my rock'n roll Mojo return to the fore! I always found the live performance/touring aspect difficult and much preferred the studio environment but I have to thank the fans and the band for giving me a real buzz again and the confidence and inspiration for performing live again.
Tintin.......one of jaz's faves ! Moebius...one of my all time heros......graphic artist extrodinair ! also designed sets for Kubricks 2001,
the legendary R&S Records ...Magrite!!!! the master surrealist!.....its his apple that became "the Apple" logo for the Beatles. albums !
Incidentally Zane Lowe played "Nothin too much..." From the new Fireman album , on his radio 1 show last night."The most important record in the world right now ! "was how he descibed it!
I am very excited and proud of this 3rd Fireman collaboration. It is one of the best albums I have ever made or been involved with ,raw, visceral and intimate awesome songs! Everything is played by Paul and myself and have to say I haven't seen his genius burn so bright as he does on this record since "Band on the run" days ...check it out!!! Also check for the new Transmission album "Sublimity" on Malicious Damage feat BIg Paul and myself ,I love the direction of this and would like to pursue it further on the next KJ album.I am listening to Ash Ra temple to "Physical Graffiti" and "dark side of the moon "a lot ! and ambient genius Saul Stokes....the Fall,LCD soundsystem and Metalica!! Although we are not known to listen to other people's opinion much but.........let me know what "You "want to hear from the next KJ album.
Brussels ...Home of "new beat"..."A Split Second " Awesome, there would be no Trance or Rave or KLF without them and "electronic body music" ....revolutionary and seminal in the late 80's..The list goes on...! Amazing comic shops everywhere!
Much better food than Paris....!its true ,my eldest sister lived here for 6 years and one of my other sisters lives nearby ...we know it well!Lets not forget the chocolate....!
People queuing outside the banks.......I sense we are entering a post consumer age where money doesn't have any value any more ......food and water.....the world is changing fast.
So the after burn of Paris was gently assisted by a huge 5 course gastronomic feast in one of Brussels beautiful little squares with restaurants dotted around.Great being around Jaz and Geordie, more long deep belly laughs ...family vibe. The second night in Paris has to be the best show so far ,Really locking in now .Some interesting guests including the French minister of culture, a big fan who had first seen us first at the Bain Douche in 1981.Various Parisian Bohemians and Gatherers from as far as Brazil and Glasgow ...all savoring the moment and the sharp september air and ice cold beer Parisian boulevards...fantastic !
Last night was great as my sister Nicole and all her kids all came to the show ....a great reunion .looking forward to my own reunion with my wife and kids tomorrow .....I miss them so much.....I'm coming home!

Thanks for the blog, everyone really appreciates you taking the time.
I am listening only to Crystal Castles and anything you five make at the moment. I still think you should get a white suite to go with the new Ricky for London though.
For the new KJ album I would also like to hear some older, slower style tracks ie; SO36 and instrumentals too plus the usual wall of sound of course.
Regards Phil.

Your performances in Paris were really good. I never saw you play live before (I'd been waiting for 15 years, uh!) and really, I wasn't disappointed at all. What I appreciated the most is that you all seem to, and show that you have a great time playing together. Too bad the sound was not very good, especially on friday night, but your bass playing was tremendous anyway. I'm really looking forward to the day the new album will come out, the two songs you played were really great.

Anthony - KILLING JOKE GUITAR TABS

Yes thank you so much for taking the time to share with us your thoughts and feelings city after city... Difficult to tell what i'd like to hear in the next KJ album, i just remember i found tere was a lack of synthé/athmospheres in KJ 2003 (also in Rveletions), all the electronics stuffs (especially on Killing Joke, What's THIS For! and of course Pandemonium) represents a great cool aspect of KJ sound, and it was back in Hosannas From The Basements Of Hell... So i'd love to hear you all back using "psychedelic/athmospheric" synthe sounds, all that added to your respective sounds and talents... I forgot to ask you in Paris if it was you who wrote Another Cult Goes Down? This song is awesome, 14 years after it still sounds very fresh to me...

What do i want from the next Killing Joke album?
A renewed primal force and a tribal/disco stomp, I think you said - sums it up perfectly.

Wot would I like to hear from the coming KJ Album? Well...Timewave and Fresh Fever are a fine start so far...I tend to say, from What..s this for...! you take the danger, from KJ 2003 you take the anger, now you drip a good quantum of the special Sauce called Turn to red EP over the whole thing...but just here n there...put it into the oven, choose the Pandemonium Program and let it cook. At last add some Donna Summer or Chic decoration to it! Will be a fabulous meal I think! But I know..you guys have a surprising recipe already! Cheers

I've always loved "Democracy" to me, along with "KJ-2003", makes the perfect mixture between the old and the contemporary KJ sound... so maybe i'd like something like that. But anyway you guys always know how to do it just right. See you next week in NY!!! (I leave in one week!) -Javier in Mexico City-

Not that you'll listen, but Butcher The Mathematics of Chaos (Time Means Nothing mix) would be a bit good. See/hear you in a few hours. The original Killing Joke. In Glasgow. In 2008. I must be dreaming...

Ideas For the new album... Don't use anyone involved in the recoding mixing of Hossanas!!!!!!!!! Big Paul's drums sounding as great as they were on the Transmission album! Geordie's guitar Cranked to 11:) More conspiracy, Worlds going to hell so lets celebrate sermons from Jaz!!! Cool electronics i.e Excorcism.

I think you should approach the New Killing joke album as if you had never heard, let alone made a record before.

Thanks for the blog youth. In terms of what I would like to hear on the next KJ album. Maybe its too late to say as I take it the recording has already taken place, For me Definitely something rhythmic like Empire Song, Pandys are coming, or something energetic like The wait. I would also like to hear a track like the 86 kj song Sanity - something melancholic and atmospheric but upbeat at the same time.
Regards Alex
