To anyone questioning whether or not I was forthright about being signed to Hollywood Records - take a listen. This is my first in-studio radio interview I did at Star 98.7 in Los Angeles. This was recorded on the morning show with Lisa Foxx and Valentine at least a month before the Wall Street Journal article. I have never lied about the fact that I am working with Hollywood Records. This is simply a fact and now anyone who would like to can hear it for themselves.

My myspace and my youtube (to this day) does not say Hollywood Records. Why? Because I started both on my own and I manage every aspect of it. Every email, every blog, every video... that is me. My Myspace was created in 2004, a year before I was even close to being signed. I created the Youtube account so that I could post videos of myself singing both covers and original songs. Hollywood Records does not define who I am a musician. It should not make you like me more, make you like me less, or make you listen to me differently in any way. I want you to listen to my music, that's it. If you wanted to know if I was signed or not you could do one of many things - 1. Put my name in Google or Wikipedia 2. Ask me , email me 3. Come to any of my shows over the last 5 months and receive a free cd sampler with the Hollywood Records Logo. It's no secret, there is no deception here. Oh and lastly, I never once had on any of my pages - 'Unsigned'. Now that, would have been lying.

Below this is an interview I did on August 2, 2007 with Star 98.7. I say I have been signed to Hollywood Records, and am working on my album.

I want to say a most heartfelt thank you to those who have come to my shows, taken the time to talk to me, watched my videos, written me emails, and most of all, stood up for me over the last few days. Every positive letter I get is keeping me up and feeling like I've got this army around me! If I lost any fans through this ordeal, they were never ' true' fans... now I know who is really listening to me. I can't wait to start the residency at the Hotel Cafe next week. I hope to see you guys out there... It's going to be exciting and I'll be debuting some more new songs!! can't wait :)

today is feeling a lot better.... how are you all? xo

Hi Marie' - I am a new fan having first heard you on Star 98.7 when my family and I went to my brother's graduation from Marine Boot Camp in August. We were driving up to see family in the LA-area when Umbrella came on and we were like, "WHO IS THAT?!?!?" We kept hearing your song throughout the weekend and every time it did, everybody got so happy and amazed at your beautiful voice and awesome rendition. So thank you for making a great weekend for me and my family even better!

But back to what's happened recently... please don't let those horrible, jealous people discourage. I think highly of journalism but that person was not a journalist. Someone out to make a name for themselves by misleading and disparaging real talent. Unfortunately, as you achieve greater and greater success - you'll undoubtedly see more of these types of lies directed towards you. Ignore them and know that your fans know the truth. And rest comfort that your real fans will know better. I do feel for you in that stuff like this still hurts.

But from a brand new true fan... keep up the amazing singing and music. I can't wait to buy everything that you put out! On iTunes, at the stores, wherever. Until your CD comes out, I've got YouTube! :-)

Take care and all the best,
Paul

Honestly, I don't know why people are even making it an issue. Although I don't know you personally, I'm sure you worked your @ss off to get to where you are---and you DESERVE it! That's what's messed up with the media...instead of making a big deal about Lindsay Lohan getting caught w/ a DUI, possession of cocain, and getting a day in jail...people tend to focus their attention on the smallest things...some of which may not be true. How much media coverage did Ana Nicole Smith receive when she passed away compared to the soldiers who died in Iraq?

Seriously, people need to give props to people who deserve it...and I hope people don't make an issue that you're half-Japanese...Anyways, kids need more role models like yourself....or else they'll be watching a fat Britney Spears wearing booty shorts lip-syncing at the VMAs ughhhhh (I almost threw up in my mouth...sorry...)

Hang in there Marié! ;-)

Hiho Again. Im using my lunch time to read this in a coffee shop. It seems to me im becoming a "Marié Adctided". My two addictions - Marié and coffee... Sounds funny.

Thank you for make this that clear. Those "pseudo-reporters" (...). Well, i will censure my thoughts about them and just let it go.

So, tomorrow is the day of your EP, right? There will be any way at on-line stores, like amazon.com (please, sell it there... :P)? I cant buy it on I-Tunes... Since its in digital format, I wont be able to buy it... again... :/

Ok. I'm used to wait... no problem. But I wrote to a brazilian on-line music store asking them to sell your music . If they manage to do it, i will celebrate it here.

Good luck tomorrow!

Juliano

it's definitely a battle stickin' up for you on youtube but this blog says it all. Though your video here is not loading up correctly, i went on back on youtube and found your interview on 8/2/07 and 1 min 25 seconds in you said you were with Hollywood Records.

end of story.

I hate that you even have to write any of this... those of us who have been around since the beginning know that you are the real deal, know when you got your record deal and know how hard you've worked to get to where you are now! xox

Dear Marie,

I'm one of the recent fans and I've only seen your singing on Youtube.

Takes a bit of time to get over to your side of the pond.

Not sure what the fuss is all about, but glad to hear that you have been "signed" by a record company.

I prefer singers that do sing rather than using modern technology to enhance their voice.

Regards,
Obi

I dont understand why people get caught up in record labels and all that gossip junk. Its all about musical talent and the awesome music you create with it. I first heard your music and thought it was great. Then I read some of your articles and interviews and found you out you're just an awesome sweet person. Do you think you will ever do a concert in Hawaii?

Wow, what devoted, great fans y'all are!!! :)

But, let's keep it real now. Y'all gotta give the author of the article some modicum of credit. I mean:

- The author correctly spelled her name, not some variation like "Maria Bigby".
- The author used the correct pronoun, ie: "she" not "he".
- The author correctly identified her place of residence is in the LA-area -- "LA" as in Los Angeles, not Louisiana.
- The author knew when to use "the" and when to us "a" or "an".
- The author correctly states that Marie' has made YouTube videos.
- The author was correct in saying that she is already signed to a record label.

See? The article had some merits to it (I know, my friends always accuse me of looking on the bright side way too often)!! :D

As Gary and others have said, the author and article did do some good:

- It gave Marie' extra exposure, especially to us here on the East Coast.
- It showed us all that it doesn't take much to be a journalist -- as long as you can work a tape recorder and know how to use a spell-checker, voila!! You, too, can be a journalist! ;) Which is especially great news for me since I've been looking to do something other than IT work . . . :P

MARIE`!!!!
Now I've been listening to you since I heard that cute little commercial with Miss Invisible playing. Now here we are, and people are saying you are a liar. You're name is getting around so fast!! ...and your song was on my fave tv show :)

i know you're real. you're fans know you didn't lie. we've all been here just waiting for what yo're gonna come out with next because you're amazing and a true artist.

let them talk!!
You're name is getting out there....and don't ever let them get you down. Just like before, ignore it....and instead of a boy saving you from the mean kids at the bleachers...you've now got an entire fan base.

Love ya!!!!
Keep on posting Ms Digby.
you are flawless :) :) :)

Hi Marie' ! :)
I have read this and I want you to know that there are lots of people behind you.
That guy is not a journalist. He's a piece of crapp. that's the "best" thing you can say about him.Now you've experienced the Media, that wasn't such a nice lesson, but now you know the ugly side of it.
I don't think you have to prove something to anyone, and if you lost fans through this situation - i must say - they are really dumb.

anyway, I'm glad you're better! :)
Greetings from Israel, we love you!!!
:)

Hi Marie! Next time you hear someone spouting untruths about you and you feel any need to squelch it, there's only one word you have to utter. "Seriously?"

Take care. :-)
