So, they're trying to stir up some controversy because of a picture I inserted into the Candy video of a girl snorting coke. Who cares, it's only r'n'r but I like it?

The article is in Danish but I think you get the point, Rave On Sune

i threw the article in a danish translator. the translation is a little bumpy, but you still kinda get the idea.

"'I Know That You Want The Candy. Give Me Candy I've Never Had. Tastes So Sweet Makes Good Love Bad'. Exact whatever kinds 'candy' , there sing about to The Ravonettes' know to their other single 'You Want The Candy' , aren't for saying by aplomb. Certainly is it after , that the insinuation to white powder , there sniffes up to nose by means of a coiled up bank note no is to that miss. Know is made of singer and songwriter Sune Wagner themselves , and the udpensler to three minutes and eight seconds all musikbranchens klichéer by sex drugs rock 'n' roll and letpåklædte women at the scene. The Raveonettes is at the moment at turné to Italy , where they next Thursday treats concert to Torino. Look know on the right to that item."

what a whole lotta fuss over a couple seconds of a girl's dirty habit. xo.

people always need something to complain about...if it isnt one thing it is another. Who is it really hurting? I think if they are listening to the song and don't want to run out and do drugs that a pic of someone snorting coke is going to be even more of an influence. I love the video. People need to relax.

So Michele my sweetheart, are you saying that if my friend died in a car accident, all representations of cars on tv and on the internet should be prohibited?

All is relative.

And this is when the three years of studying Danish at uni come in handy. Hehe.

I like the fact that they're making such a fuss about it when most people nowadays find it okay that kids are fans of Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton. At least *you* make hell of a good music. ;)

i take "candy" meaning sex personally...and in the video, candy is spelled out with actual candy. THE RAVEONETTES ARE PROMOTING LOVE HANDLES.

I noticed that too, but oh well!
It's not like snorting coke is anything new to this world. There's better things to fuss over, than a quick shot of a girl snorting coke!

Nice vid, by the way. :)

i love you guys, and i love lust, lust, lust probably more than any of your other releases, but to take drug addiction/abuse lightly, even in a harmless way, is a little silly. i've always been a bit bothered by that song on the new album, even though every other song is fantastic.

who said it's a dirty habit, and what matters about it anyway?

there are irresponsible people who render much more damage to themselves and others that never touch the candy, haha

everyone seems to be so extremely sensitive about drug use and other taboos, but they completely forget to dedicate sensitivity to the music,

and yeah, it is just rnr, if you can't handle that, then you can't handle life at all,

I care
that you don't believe in censorship,
that you don't pretend that sniffing doesn't exist,
that you don't make a clearcut judgment,
that you don't choose to protect our fragile little minds.

There are a million things to get addicted to, & ways to get high, and live and die.
There's a War of Terror going on out there.
But that's fucking OK.
It's life and life only.

I care that you dare to show the truth.
This PC shit is just way the fuck out of hand.
Rave on, it's a crazy feeling...

& I am now adding it to my profile. "Candy" is def my fav Raveonettes video.

I sent the "Candy" video to my friends the other day, advertising it as a solution for those who may not yet have had enough Valentines candy.

[I know I'm probably the last fan to think of this... It's only apropos that you did a song like this. I had never thought of it before when considering the name of your band. I always concentrated on the part of your name, "rave on," as it is one of my favorite songs by Buddy Holly. But now w/the song "Candy" out, why, of course - Raisinets...

Light shines on Marblehead.]
