March 26, 2008 - Wednesday

Though I was raised in a Catholic household, I like to call myself agnostic. Do I claim to know the answers? No, I don’t. Do I deny there is something way greater than us? Nope, I know it’s there. Do I agree on ancient texts that were written by MEN 100’s of years ago? NO. I do not. (Especially since many years later the church decided what they would put in the "Bible".)Maybe there is a God, perhaps Jesus did die for me. I just don’t think humanity was able to write an accurate depiction of what "God" wanted us to. I don’t believe we could even fathom what this is all about then…just like we can’t now.

Let’s look at a verse in the bible that leaves me scratching my head…Click Here to Read The Rest of my Blog!!! Comment here or on my Official site...I read em all.

Here it comes, the angry mob wanting to burn me at the stake  ; )  or perhaps not, we shall see

I don't see anything wrong with what you have written. I think that the people who critisize you for you opinion are just afraid to give theirs. Well done girl. You have the guts to say what most people only think!!

I have to agree with you as well. If you cannot share your thoughts/opinions for an open discussion then somebody must be very insecure about something....

Adri, you & Chris are welcomed to visit whenever you want impressive Mayan ruins in Honduras. Copan Ruins are located in a beautiful typical town and you can learn about all the interesting Mayan culture in various museums located here. This weekCatherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas and their two kids are visiting my country. Check it out www.copanhonduras.org/

Braindead... How does that even make since.. Or is it because a woman has an open mind to believe more then what has been hand fed to all of us since we were born! Adri I doubt you do all of these blogs to fight the super model's are dumb status.. but girl you are for me! Alot of the information in this blog is information alot of people die not ever knowing. I recently had the most interesting conversation with a coworker who studied this stuff and learned it for the first time myself. Though I found alot of things about religion to be off because churches diss each other... they make it seem like past cultures like the egyptions were all in hell because they worshiped multiple gods.. so say all of the bible is true, they go to hell for being ignorant! Come on!

not all churches are like this, and not all church-goers are hypocrites. just like not all christians go to church. the problem with churches, organized religions, business, society, families, the world, etc is that they are all made up of individual people. you can't allow a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of them. that's like judging the youth of today on the likes of lindsay lohan, paris hilton, britney spears, or steve-o.

i don't go to church, but i was raised pentecostal. i guess you could say that it was worse -- i'm in a ministering family. i'm considered the black sheep because i don't follow the dogmas that my family is wrapped up in. i don't play church to fit in. i'm not going to judge others based on what i've seen. i know that human nature, for the most part, leads people to judge others for their own reasons, so i don't hold it against them.

thats the key. people are always going to judge other people. either you let it get to you or you blow it off. i'm going to do a very scandalous thing in a few weeks... i'm going on vacation and am going to spend at least one night at my lesbian cousin's house. i don't care what people think (mostly because they already think i'm a lesbian), and i don't sermonize. i just remind them when they start whispering too loud that one should judge not least they be judged, don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house, do unto others... you get the idea.

the long and the short of it is, dont judge, just try to understand or at least listen to what is being said and if you cant cope with it or it's beyond you, leave it in god's hands. that's really all you can do.

Mistress, this exactly what turned me off about religion. They lived lives no better than the "sinners" they claimed to be better than. The worst part is that they cannot see how phony they are because they are "saved".

I am glad for this blog! You will see the same people that preach the love of God are very quick to condemn and judge.

We need to get rid of all of it and start loving each other genuinely!

I notice that too I call them "Church-Bullies" because they literally are. so busy condeming and judging and saying you are bad that they dont even go to help anyone who is sick or dying in hospitals or old people whos families dont visit them in nursing home. or give money to poor families. ARE YOU KIDDING they've got to stop gay people from getting married!!! Far too busy saving the world from all the "different views" to give a damn about the people in the world who are sincerely in need of help. You can not save the world when the Joneses are having a threeway with some black people at a swingers club or garry there son who is gay and is too scared of his parents to admit it. are YOU KIDDING ME CHRISTIANS MUST SAVE THE WORLD FROM THIS DOOTY So they condemn condemn condemn and never will they call themselves sinful. but omg YOU CERTAINLY ARE! you know what I mean. When there are people dying dayly from aids and all they need is a loaf of bred and Jelly to stop them from deteriorating. or people in other countries who have nothing from Typhoon and flooding. while they sit in there puddle of self righteouesness getting fat on tithes & offerings and not making any descent programs in church to help the society. anyway you catch where i am coming from?

I am sorry to hear that your ex,who claims to be a christian, will not take responsibility for his kids. The bible says that "a man who will not look after his family is worse than a heathen"1Tim5v8."Secondly someone who claims to have the "love of God but hates his brother is a liar for he who does not love his brother who he has seen, cannot love God,Whom he has not seen"1Jn4v20.If what you say is true then he is at least a very misguided man or at worst not a Christian at all. While it is true that there are some Christians who set a bad example there are many who have devoted their lives in the service of others.I think of people like Mother Teresa,Martin Luther King,Dietrich Bonhoeffer(he stood up to the Nazi regime and was executed).I also personally know many Christians who visit the elderly, those in hospital, and feed and house the homeless, work with drug addicts and single mums and generously support underprivileged childrens projects etc.I humbly put it to you that it is never that simple to dismiss the claims of Christianity or to rubbish an entire people group because of a few bad apples.

Exactly they will run you out so not kidding either they will literally run you out of there church some of them. not all of them but some of them you know what im saying. it's like omg would you please help someone and stop spitting in peoples faces yelling your decrees god gave you. it's like omg God got his ass out there in a human being first of all so its not like hes arrogant he didnt come down as a 1200 foot giant(as the story goes) he was probablly like 6foot. and if i were God I am telling you I wouldve been 1900 feet tall. but anyay he fed hungry people literally THOUSANDS. he helped people on Sabbath day which is very very strict day of rest for people in his country and you would be punished if you do not obey. he helped people constantly but you will go to SOME churches and they will barely do anything for society there programs are disorgnanized its like omfg ARE YOU JUST GOING TO CHURCH FOR SOCIO POLITICAL REASON.

God...people are suffering out there you know. and some people like me enjoy church because you "escape from the rain" you know of every day.

I grew up in a church going family. I have seen it first hand for years. Let's not even mention those Muslim fundamentalist that are arguing about who god really blessed. I always say you know a tree by the fruit it bears. The church bears molesters, fundamentalist terrorists, racists, and phonies. If the people IN the church are fucked up, then so is the CHURCH!!! Even the Jesus the Christians follow never established a church. NEither did Mohammad. Nor did Moses. The only people that organized religion were men seeking to make a profit off of people that have lost their way to the Source which some call GOD!

Hey, Mistress....I just thought I'd clarify something.. I used to think, a long time ago, that Church, God is all about religion, but really, it's not ! I used to look at people, who are avid church-goers, & looked up to people, watch everything they do, say, etc ! But it's not what we are supposed to do, b/c people are just that: People !! We're not supposed to keep our eyes focused on anyone else, but GOD !! People, ALL of us, have faults & make mistakes all the time, & are not perfect!! I learned that the hard way, many times. But one day, I had a very personal situation about 6-8 years ago, & I had no one else to lean on. I was all alone in "this" & I was in the midst of heading down a very terrible future. *I choose not to share the exact details, but some who are really close to me, knows what I am saying. It's a drug addiction thing that I had gone through, that's all I'll say* So, I had picked up a pamphlet from Kenneth Copeland, & read about surrendering ourselves to GOD. Giving all our cares, fears, worries, anxiety, & all the rest of the negative stuff to HIM. Everyone else around me were so in doubt of my situation ( that I got myself in to), but I chose to believe HIS promises, & was prepared for whatever was to come, having this "awesome, unusual" peace that I'd never had like that, before. And you know what? HE began to work something so unimaginable in the midst of my "dilemma", & I began to see how it all unfolded, saw HIS work in my situation, & felt HIS presence so strongly, I can't even describe how surreal it was. And yes, I am NOT perfect. But I do know one thing....people ARE supposed to be examples of GOD'S ways, but we cannot rely on people, b/c they are not without fault!

I can totally see where you are coming from. I don't know what i believe in myself. There are things that have happened in my life that i feel were done by something "higher" but what that higher is, i have no clue. in every country people believe different things, so why is our "american" way of thinking, the right way???? And with the house prices and money, it is REALLY scary. It really worries me to think about what we are throwing our kids into as well. How much will they have to struggle? Look at how much we are struggling now!! I don't see it getting better, i feel like everything is failing. I am sick of presidents who just sit there and talk and say what you wanna hear to get the position, then they don't follow anything! Bush is a sneaky fucking bastard and we should have never of voted him in, let alone twice!!!!!

Ok i need to rephrase something really quick, i didn't mean that i feel like its not going to get better, i am just worried. It makes me shake to my core thinking that Hillary could win this thing. I hope to high hell she doesn't. Obama will definetly put us in a step forward, and he knows the shit that is about to be thrown on his plate. Bush left a fucking mess!!!!!! he is a selfish, greedy, no good bastard. And i think hillary is just like him! I hate her tactics of attacking obama to win votes. Most all runners do it, and i hate it. Obama is the stronger one for sure... No matter how much she attacks him, he sits back and proves his point, BUT does NOT attack her!!!! His morals are awesome. His thinking is awesome. He is just what we need!

I think you are a bit full of shit. Yes Bush is a nightmare but Hillary would be a far better choice. She 1. wants insurance coverage for everyone not just those who have the excess money to spend (lets face it some work their ass off and can't afford one dime left out of their pay). Obama wants affordable insurance (still some just can't do it). Hillary wants universal health care (third world countries have it why can't we). Furthermore, a vote for Hillary would be the equivallent of getting 2 for 1 (and despite Clinton sex-capades) He definately had a balanced budget. He has pulled a few attacts of his own he just doesn't have as much ammunition as she does. I personally am sick of the male dominated government we have. There are happier and well constructed countries out there ran by women who ddon't deal with half of this war mongering BS the men have shoved us into (AKA Iraq)

How did a blog discussing religion turn political? But since it did I will add my two cents. We are not a welfare country. IT is not the governments responsibility to provide it's citizens with health care. Each and every one of us has a responsibility to provide for our families. Now, do I agree that something should be done to make health care more affordable for everyone, YES I do. But I don't want Hillary or anyone else telling me where I have to go to get cared for. I damn sure don't want Hillary or Obama in office and the republican choice isn't my favorite either. Maybe I'll just stay home when it comes time to vote because any of the three candidates are going to drive this country to it's knees begging for mercy in the next four years.

As far as the war in Iraq goes, I think it has dragged on for too long, but I'd rather fight the battle over there than fight it here. I think our president has done a good job ensuring that there were no repeats of 9/11. There are a few issues that I don't see eye to eye on with Bush, but for the most part he's done a good job. For those of you who don't think he's done a good job, when your relief money comes in in May, send it back. Tell them you don't need it, tell them it violates the liberal doctrine of socialism. And while you are at it, add a couple extra hundred dollars to it. Hillary and Obama will increase taxes, and that's exactly what we don't need right now.

Rush is right!

Wow - great read on the blog up there.................I totally understand and believe in most of the theories that you noted..............True believer that the Earth, Sun, Stars are very powerful. And that 'bibles' were written for groups of people needing to believe in something, when they had nothing else to believe in; and they were wild and unconfined. Like the words "organized religion". The word organized explains it to a T. I see that in the near future a cycle it to occur. Death only breeds life.....................

I don't consider myself religious so much as spiritual. I don't subscribe to the practices of a lot of what "organized religion" is about. The ones about artificial means to create a child in infertile couples, and shunning medicine, transfusions and such. I believe that God gave us the intelligence to create life saving medicines and procedures and He wants us to use them.

I remember one of the girls that you are referring to from your cycle of Top Model, and she is a great example of turning people off of Christianity. Jesus didnt judge, he embraced everyone equally.

Wow, am I being preachy, LOL. I will stop now, haha. I just want to say that in my opinion, whether you believe in Jesus isnt as important as that you try to love as much as you can and help when you see a need. That to me is what Jesus is about. Whether people think he is the Messiah or not, they cant deny that he was/is a good person, and the essence of him is in all of us. We just have to make the choice to let it out.

Cindy, I wholeheartedly agree with EVERYTHING you just said. I went to Christian school most of my life(southern baptist and pentecostal) and I finally just decided that I wasn't going to be religious, but instead spiritual. I claim no denomination. I too believe in God and that Jesus was sent here for our sins...I just can't prove it; and because I can't prove it, it means I can't jusdge others for what they believe...because who's to say we are wrong or right? So kudos to you for posting this...you rock.

And to Adrianne: if anyone is going to bash you for what you believe in or just wrote on how you feel, then I guess they can just take their happy asses to another blog. There's nothing wrong with what you wrote. And I give kudos to you as well! :)

Hmmm......this is a dilemma...........should I agree with you, which would mean that I disagree with Adrianne and (GASP) how could I disagree with anything she says?!?!?! LMAO!! (wink wink)

or do I agree with Adrianne.......and be thought of as a "Godless" person? hmmmm........

eh, unfortunately...........I don't know exactly what I believe in............meaning, I have my doubts about organized religion but I do believe there is SOMETHING........just not sure what that something is........

I want to believe that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. I so want to believe that when we die we just don't cease to exist..........

But what I do know is that there are many things that I can't explain..........that science can't explain and that religion can't really explain either. I am not so good with the concept of "faith"........and it is a struggle for me to believe in anything I can't see with my own eyes.........

I know you are my friend...........and I thank God or whomever for that.........;-)

love ya Cindy........

I know there are things I just don't know...........and I just live my life the best I can........do what is inherently right (no lying, cheating, stealing, murder, etc) and in the end I will be able to stand before God (or whomever) and say, I did my best...........I wasn't perfect but I tried hard.

I think that is all we can do. I envy people with true faith in their beliefs..........cause I just don't have it.......I wish I did..........but I question way too much......;-)
