MY SUGGESTED RATES
Let me start by stating that if I contact you, I am agreeing to YOUR terms. If none are specified, then assume I mean TF. I am not so arrogant to assume that everyone only wants to pay me. **My suggested rate is $25/hour cash or money order. This is very reasonable. I came to this amount based on what other clients have offered, minus some. **Weekday shoots are a flat rate of $200. It does not matter if the shoot lasts 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours; I am losing a full day of work, and need to be compensated to make up for my lost pay. This is what I make in a day at my full-time job. **I AM willing, though, to compromise in return for photos, products, or tear sheets. Make an offer and we can haggle from there. :)
TFP/TFCD *TFP/TFCD
is accepted if your work benefits me. I consider time, effort,
distance, photographer, designer, look, concept when making this
decision. (Concept is the big one.) *The less I have to travel, the greater the chance that I will accept TFP. ***I
expect to receive edited images, in which at least one or two that I
get to select, or a guaranteed tear sheet. (If you do not want to edit
my choices, then allow me to have the unedited files of ones I like to
find someone to edit for me. I will credit as appropriate.) *All
published, online or otherwise, photos of me should be be credited. I
will do the same for all of the photographers, designers, make up
artists, and hair stylists I work with. **I will consider test shoots for the right photographers or publications. **TF shoots will only be done on the weekends. *TF
with MUA or hairstylists: I always enjoy when others join in the
collaboration, and I am all for wild, funky, and fun creations, but I
do not believe in paying "kit fees" it is either TF or not. If you
desire to pay for these services, go ahead, otherwise expect me to do
my own hair and makeup.
**I will work with you to develop makeup and hairstyles that best compliment the shoot.
Overtime *I ask that you realize and acknowledge with additional compensation, when applicable, if a shoot goes over the agreed upon duration. We all have schedules to adhere to. It is always safer to plan for extra time and not need it, over the opposite. Please take that into consideration when planning the shoot.
Runway *With club shows and the like, I don't do the whole mingling deal afterward unless it has been mentioned, with pay, in the initial agreement. *Runway payments begin from time of arrival to end of show, including 15 minutes for clean-up. **Again, please acknowledge when things go overtime.
Nudity Please see Nude Policy Blog.
Hair Shows *I
enjoy doing hair shows, but request to know what cut/color/etc. is
being done before hand. The rate for hair shows is negotiable since I
am, after all, getting a professional cut/color/etc., and I appreciate
that.
Other fees **I live in Frederick, Maryland, which is about an hour away from DC and Baltimore. Gas prices are insane, so I ask for $5/hour in travel time, determined by Mapquest predicted time. Less than half an hour, I will forgive the charge. Also, because of the distance, I will not agree to many DC/Baltimore club shows, or other late night commitments, but if the pay and/or exposure is right, I will consider.
Copyright/Photo Releases ***Whatever the deal, I would like a usage agreement signed. *If you don't have/forget the proper documents, I will bring a generic one that I have developed with the help of photographer friends. (This includes usage agreement, model release, and contract, if necessary.) **If you pay me, you have rights to all photos (duh), which you can, of course, sell to third parties, with the exception of porn vendors and, should I ever become famous or, god forbid, infamous, tabloids. Most likely I will not be doing any work that would appeal to these markets anyway (see above "Nudity"). ***I do not expect copies, if paid, at all, though it is always appreciated. I just want credit for my work, when applicable. **If you are selling my photographs for a profit (i.e. calendars, magazine submissions, collections) I may request a higher rate. **I would prefer photo releases/contracts/usage agreements/etc to include how the photo will be used (i.e. what publications it will be submitted to, or what products will use it as advertising, etc.). If it is a trade shoot, I would also like it specified, how many and when photos will be received.
I am more than happy to provide references, if requested.
*I have worked with Model & Talent Management in Timonium, Maryland, and you are more than welcome to book me through Jill Roach, if you feel more comfortable. Her number is 410-308-9890. Calling Jill does not mean I will accept the job; the offer still has to be appealing and work with my schedule.
