This blog entry now has a new FOREVER home which can be found here. I have created the new home for this entry out of respect for not only the victim I paid tribute to, but also to Catherines family and friends. Those that read my day to day blogs know that they might not be acceptable to all. Thank you for visiting my tribute to a beautiful woman whos life was cut too short by the events of 9/11.
Five years ago today everyones lives were turned topsy turvy. What should have been a normal day for everyone across our great nation was turned into a day full of angst, frustration, worry, despair, confusion, and ultimately sorrow. While some of us were staggering about starting our days, others were loosing their lives. While some of us sat, our attentions raptly tuned to the tv, others fled franticly on foot, as the towers fell. While some of us sat stunned by the images in front of us, others fought valiantly to save lives. While some of us sat and shed a silent tear, others openly screamed and cried knowing their loved ones had departed this earth. Now, five years later we, as a country, are still healing from the wounds of that fateful day.
One of the lives lost that day was Catherine Ellen Chirls. Catherine was a banker at eSpeed, a subsidary of Cantor Fitzgerald. She was only 47 years old, still in the prime of her life. She was remembered by many friends and relatives as having a lively spirit, a caring heart, and a sweet personality. She was a friend to many, touching many lives through out her time on this earth. She lived by her own motto- "Never limit yourself". She is a woman that I wish I could have known. Although I did not know her, and cant claim to know much about her, I do know that I never will forget her name or her face- ever.

Rest in the arms of the Angels Catherine. You may be gone, but know, that you are not forgotten.
This blog was written as a part of a collaboration of bloggers for 2,996 (click on the link for the complete list of victims of 9/11 and the bloggers honoring them).
NOTE: The 2,996 web site is being swamped and has run into bandwidth issues. Until they can solve this, I'm posting direct links to the tributes by other bloggers below.
