Although
Mim said it first..
I will hunt you down....

B O R E S S E ?

What in hells name is your policy on the gay and liberal and multi racial culture of london? tell me, once again, what is your opinion on section 28? and say it once again for the bullied and bruised youth or minority cultures of london? Tell me please.. tell me STRAIGHT what is your opinion on same sex marriage? I will be watching over all your conservative actions. Tooth and nail...
I was born here 24 years ago. Ken screwed this city up hard enough in the last 8 years..... now its your turn, this time, we are all watching, and we know your leanings toward right wing attitude...

In the name of D Jarman, I will stick by section 28 with a sharp sword outside parliament.. dont fuck with equal rights. Use your new power with any vague wisdom you may possess. The artists and liberators of this city are ready to knock you down. We will and always have overcome.

I am gay.

I often wondered whether or not this would change my life. It hasn't. And it never will.
I am the same person that I would have been were I "straight".

And as hard as it is, I am going to wait as long as it takes for the right man to whisk me away to those windy moors, where fantasy reigns and conservative sinks in the quagmire.

Bring it on life.

I am ready.

sounds like intro to american politics 101: "are you a straight, rich white man? well, lemme teach you the basics on homophobia, greed and a general dislike for the people you will be representing." good luck to you and it's fantastic to know people are on the look-out. i wish more people here would get their shit together and start making the move toward some much-needed change.

I had never heard of this before and had to google around a bit...but what a sad sad thing is this? Are we not far enough in evolution and growing up to finally lose homophobia?
As the word "phobia" says I think it shows peoples insecurity, lack of flexibility and understanding-otherwise you wouldnt need no angst towards any kind of love!
Send those people over here, we ve had mayors in Hamburg and Berlin who were putting out their gayness in public! As you say: Dont fuck with equal rights! We re all human, we all need love even politicians- sometimes I feel hope at least for my city, that things will someday finally change, but hearing things like this make me sad.

Love anke

Rosanna.

If the words "I am in favor of liberty" come out of a certain Mr. Johnson's mouth one more time there is a definite possibility of me being sick. "What I don't don't like is the state butting in". Hmmm.

The idea of Anarchy in the true sense of the word, particularly in the manner of Nestor Mahkno is extremely appealing when there is no longer any difference between Conservative and Labour and Liberal Democrat, and where the notion of representation seems to be a vague memory of the past.

Section 28. Just another beaureacratic attempt to oppress (?) in the name of keeping up appearances from a state that no longer means anything.

I'm a heterosexual with a lot of homosexual and bixeual friends. A lot of people I know have been insulted and attacked for their preferences, and have even had family members attacked because of them. It's not even sexuality and race, I've been outcasted for being different in appearance, personality and mind.

It's definatly time for a lot of the UK to stick their heads out of their backsides and look at the world around them. Everybody should notice that everybody is free to be unique and be the person who they are, rather than a uniform android because of how taboos and popular culture dictate.

Unfortunatly it seems that the majority of people who have a problem with this lack the braincells to think about their actions. Nonetheless I strongly agree that we need stand opposing the BNP-esque viewpoints of the nation.

Oh my Gosh! I never even realised! How can the mayor of the city that I live in be this fascist like character! Who even voted for him? I mean look what he wrote:

Referring to the Andijan massacre in which several hundred people were killed he wrote "Whatever you say about the Russians, they have no qualms when it comes to abusing human rights, if that means cracking down on Islam.

This is honestly scary.

I think what is scarier is that Boris Johnson knows exactly what he's doing. He plays the bumbling old fool because when he comes along with some psycho stuff, he will fool people into thinking, "oh, that Boris, he's quite alright. I'll vote for him, he's a Good English Lad." He'll never get into the shadow cabinet, but he's a very smart man, alright. :/

Alas, those ignorant masses are to blame for electing him. At least Labour tried to please people. Now all the working class of London will not be kicked into the hurt, rather left as we are while the rich people prosper. Something like 9% of the population in England hold 96% of the wealth. It's a sick sick world.
You just have to look at what happens in America under the Republican government. A friend of mine went to Chicago, and he said there were homeless people everywhere. Most of them black.
Which brings me on to Love Music Hate Racism. It was great so see you there supporting the cause, and making a speech that everyone would listen to. Everyone should have their own opinion, but surely no right-in-the-head person could possibly think BNP was the right choice; a party who have based their whole campaign for the past half-decade on one thing - "gettin' those foreigners out".
I witnessed the most perfect image when I was there. A little blonde girl who must've been about 4 was walking around, lost. Whilst looking for her mother, she stopped next to a younger little black boy. They didn't know each other, but it was almost as if the little boy sensed her anguish. He tottled up to her and gave her a cuddle. They stood there cuddling, people around smiling at the aptness and beauty of the whole thing, and he wouldn't let go. Eventually they broke free of each other, and her mum eventualyl found her. But it was just so lovely, how their minds wouldn't even dream of judging someone by their race - what relevance does it have to anything? We can have opinions on culture, race, whatever; but judging people purely on what would make no difference to us if we were blind is moronic. So, as long as we can all pull together, regardless of race, difference of opinon, whatever..we can get through that blonde idiot's reign of this multicultural city; a city of infinite possibilities. We just need to wait it out, people.

Love love love

i'll stand up for boris. although i have no natural affiliation with the conservatives i did vote for him with my second preference.
many of the comments that people judge Boris by were made years ago when he was in his youth and in his journalistic career - and we all say things we later don't mean or take that(dare i mention someone's declamation that he was to quit music?!?). my previous of Boris as a silly, pretensious, arrogant, racist git was blown away by his commitment and serious appliance to his mayoral campaign. his policies especially on youth crime, something that we have all suffered with over the years, are ones that i would willingly support. although not fully developed i believe they have serious potential to right the capital. although he has not made his commitments fully clear, such as the one you highlight on section 28, he has hardly had the space to do so with so many reports concentrating on completely irrelevant issues e.g. his hair
i also notice that many of the negative comments in the media and even here on the response focus on the physical aspect of Boris, i.e. his silly hair and bicycle, and i hardly think that those are characterstics that one would judge a leader on. the guardian's four page spread of 'high profile' public figures denouncing Boris did not raise one single issue that they actually had a problem with apart from his education and hair. i would expect more from Wolf fans especially as much of Patrick's mesage has been to look not just at the aesthetic image but deeper.
and i don't necessarily think that his position as mayor will have any serious racist implication - although many of his votes did come as second preferences from BNP supporters (whose candidate gained nearly 60 000 votes). within his election campaign no mention of race or ethnic minorities was ever made with negative connations - quite the opposite he actually has pledged to support them.
red ken's desperate attempt to win the gay vote through his bizarre and embarassing apperance at circus shows the signs of a desperate politician and hardly the sort of man we need to run this great city.

right rant over
ps. i didn't vote BNP first preference - it was all green for me
