Current mood:shareful
I thought about calling this one, "I am going crazy again," but that seemed hardly informative. Truly, though, I am going just a little crazy right now over my new juicer. It is a Z-Star manual auger-style juicer and not only can it turn apples, carrots, pears, wheatgrass, spinach, etc, etc. into juice, but it also will grind out a mean peanut butter and turn frozen bananas and strawberries into a crazy raw-style ice cream--everything the motorized ones do at 1/3 the price.

For a couple of inspired minutes today, I imagined myself running a Z-Star juicer booth at the Texas State Fair, sharing the joys of a hand-cranked juice.

And if anyone uses the terms "eccentric" or "old man" in their comments....

I'd like a fried coke juice and a corndog juice, please.

I'll be back later for a funnel cake juice.

It will juice all of that !

My mom keeps coming up with bad things every time I tell her about juicing something. I juiced a potato and she said, "mmmmm french fries would be good right now!" and then I told her about freezing bananas to make an "ice cream" and she said, "a DQ Blizzard sure sounds good."

Oh, I remember that Christmas we got the Presto Sandwich Maker... We started off with the obvious Christmas ham and turkey sandwiches, adding stuffing and cranberry sauce as we got more confident in our sandwich making abilities... Then getting home with it, and creating more and more creative and interesting sandwich combinations, Dad making late night trips to the store for some unusual new ingredient, Mom looking through the enclosed recipe booklet for ideas, but always making them her own. Sandwiches, Sandwiches, day in, day out, mostly always something new and delicious, but the occasional flop, too. I guess one day we just got tired of sandwiches, and Mom put it under the cabinet where it was soon forgotten, but it sure was fun while it lasted...

I love that you had to buy the pioneer-..style.. juicer!

Can I tell you how many times I have walked around Target with the Presto Sandwich Maker wedged under my arm before deciding it was too good to be true and putting it back on the shelf?
