Oooookay. So I've been in NYC for about a month. So far, so good. I mean don't get me wrong. It's hard. I pretty much bombed my first chance at representation by performing a very silly scene and not having headshots printed on time. But hey, it was a good lesson. (Any agents or managers out there, check me out!) Auditioning is fun . . . really. I always hated auditioning but something about being in new york makes it exciting and really fun and I love it. I think it's also because I've been so focused on film and auditioning for film is, for me, waaaay better than auditiong for theatre. I feel so lucky to have a classical theatre background because I think that helps a lot too. In order to completely live up to the actress stereotype, I've also taken a job waiting tables - which I love! Even better, it's at Justin Timberlake's new restaurant called Southern Hospitality, which is a Memphis-themed BBQ joint that really rocks my socks. So far it's really great - and it's not that I'm some huge JT fan - although he is very nice - but I just love being in a place where I can order fried green tomatoes and sweet tea. I mean, how freakin perfect. Plus the JT hype means we have quite the buzz and get a lot of business, which means good cash flow for me. Holla. Other things I love about my new life in NYC? The people watching! I love watching people on the subway. (I'm a subway champion btw.) I love how people stand at the edge of the platform and let the breeze from the tunnel blow through their hair as they longinly wait for the train to appear . . . they look like they are standing out on a mountain or something, but this wind is the only strong breeze you can find in nyc . . . and I stand there half excpecting their tongues to hang out of their mouth like a labrador or something. All and all, things are good. A have a few potential projects lined up for the fall but i just need to figure out when those are taking place. In the meantime I'm just having fun and hanging in there, pounding the pavement by day and the bbq by night. Mmmm, good.

A little Southern Hospitality follow-up . . . wanted to share the following review from Chloe-Lynn O:

"6 JT crazed girls-- at this place for dinner? Of course it'll get 5 stars.

It was suggested with all the buzz this place has been receiving that to guarantee a table, you'd have to be there at 5PM sharp. But to be honest, it wasn't even SUPER busy until after we left which was around 7PM (but then again, it was Wednesday).

I'm assuming the menu changes every now and then, cause why would they lay out paper menus that can easily be ripped, spilled on, destroyed, etc. soo-- that's special. Unless they printed off a million-bagillion of them.

Anyway, I ordered the Pulled Pork Platter which comes with 2 sides (choose from tater tots, collard greens, potato salad, string beans, mac and cheese, and cole slaw)-- and a Woodchuck Draft Cider beer (which tasted like "apple juice that makes you a lil crazy" as our waitress put it)

Oh and our waitress! Her name was Christena, and she is sucha lil hottie! Straight out of Memphis, her accent is sorta thick and if you catch her saying "really, really" I guarantee you'll love her.

Food was great, beer was delcious with the bbq sauce. If only Justin was there . . . "
