Janelle I was at the show you did in Philly @ World Live Cafe and it was fantastic! I first heard your voice on the Idlewild soundtrack-- it was the song Call The Law to be exact. I remember being blown away by your vocals. From then on I was hooked. When you sang 'Smile' in Philly I couldn't help but to cry... I needed a reminder at that time to smile. Mr. Cole's version is great but I have to say yours is phenomenal! Thank you for blessing us with your amazing talent and helping bring art and imagination back to music. Maybe this lengthy comment should have been an email.

Wow...your performance was breathtaking!! I smiled, I cried, and cheered for you all at the same time. Your voice is so strong and powerful and I thank you for being a strong, positive, and intelligent role model for young females today. SO many colors and textures in your voice. I'm continually awed. Would love to hear you sing with John Legend someday. You both have a sense of classic jazz vocals (Ella, Sarah/Nat King Cole) as well as the curly R&B/gospel melisma that makes us stomp & clap. Thank you for doing the jazz standards. I also love Peachtree Blues, but your technique from the Afro-Punk performance shows you've surpassed even that great recording. I'm so glad my little sister from Spelman turned me on to you. Can't wait till the world catches on.
