"Everybody who thinks they're going home in the next ten years take one step forward..

Ah! Not so fast guys."

The Bushit admin. Never..I mean never intended for US troops to come home.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush would like to see a lengthy U.S. troop presence in Iraq like the one in South Korea to provide stability but not in a frontline combat role, the White House said on Wednesday.

The United States has had thousands of U.S. troops in South Korea to guard against a North Korean invasion for 50 years.

50 YEARS!

not 3... not next year... not "We'll stand down when they stand up."

nuh..nuh..never.

Don't forget. We have troops in Germany still. So don't go singling Bush out. That's just the US and *what seems like* our attempt to imperialism. Not saying i agree, but that's just how it goes.

Yeah, this supposed "war on terror" is going to end up like the "war on drugs", slow-going and most likely never-ending. You cannot impose democracy on a country that doesn't want it to begin with. Oh, and a clear reason as to why we're over there would be good as well. *raises hand* I second the motion to impeach.

I hear you but it is never going to happen. I hate, repeat, HATE George W. Bush. I didn't vote for him in the last election and like many, many others, I didn't vote for him in the first election. And to everyone that did - you can kiss my ass! I must however say, just because I DO NOT support the war, I DO SUPPORT THE TROOPS. I hope for everyone's safe return but unfortunately, that is just not going to happen.

I just don't get it. Clinton was a decent president but got impeached cause he lied about getting head from an intern. Bush sends our country straight to hell, sends all of our soldiers off to die for no fucking reason, and he's commended for it???

Poor, naive, Hal. *Bette Davis holding a cigarette* Didn't you know that one has to receive a blow job from a White House intern in the Oval Office in order to get impeached? Sending an exorbitant number of troops to a senseless war that results in thousands of fatalities for an indeterminate amount of time hardly qualifies one for impeachment. *shudders*

It's a shame we have such a douchebag for a leader. America is a great country and would be even greater if Americans would just wake the fuck up!

Hal, I was wondering how you feel about so many Democrats voting to keep funding the war without any deadlines for troop withdrawal? Now that they control Congress, why aren't they taking advantage of their position? Where's the accountability on their part? They've been given power this last election because of the war, but they haven't utilitized it. There should be outrage at their ineptitude as well.

I agree with you Hal, 1000000%. The only way he'll be impeached is if he's caught humping an intern or jerking off to porn...that seems to be the only grounds for impeachment to these assholes who voted him in but murdering our people and the people of Iraq keeps his monkey ass in that seat of power. That and his puppet master....old "shot gun" Cheney.

Who has the countdown till this murdering, idiot scumbag is out of office?

Hal...have you ever heard of PNAC, Project for a New American Century? They have a website at newamericancentury.org. They are a group that formed in 1997 with the goal of writing letters / articles, and giving seminars, etc., aimed at influencing the govt. to...well, to do everything that the W admin. is now doing and has been doing just about sine it took office (and I mean TOOK).

This is not some fantasy shadow group. They have published articles and letters in mainstreem publications, as I understand it, have public smeinars, and a listed office in DC.

Guess who was / is in the group? Jeb Bush, Karl Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, and Don Rumsfeld, among other people connected to this admin..

In a document that they published in 2000, they noted that it would be hard to get the govt. to do the things that they hoped to see it do unless there were to occur some "...catostrophic, catylising event, like a new Pearl Harbor..." that they could point to as a reason, as something to avoid a repaet occurance of, for the govt. to do the things they wanted it to.

Before the following year was out, 9 months after these same people took office, the Twin Towers were ash. Before the end of '01, if I recall correctly, the US was in A'ghanstan, and two years after that, Iraq, going about the business that the PNAC had wanted it to go about doing since 1997.

If more people knew this, and understood that where we are now is not the result of pure happenstance, and reaction, but a combination of deliberate planning and, possibly, a willfill looking away which allowed 9/11 to occur, there'd be impeachment hearings within days.

Spread thr word!

what i find interesting is that everyone wanted clinton impeached because monica was saluting his pink helmeted viking and this beady-eyed slime ball is sending our youth out to be killed and they would rather have that as a president than have someone who has his pecker smooched by an overweight intern! maybe it was because she wasn't your typical piece of arm candy that made them so upset! she was just an average gal and that made them upset--and since she had a few extra pounds on her that just made them all o' so mad! atleast clinton doesn't have blood on his hands!

they tried to find anything they could to hurt clinton! so not fair! i liked him alot. i just wanted to hug him...he looks like he gives excellent hugs!

impeach bush now! why does noone say anything?! so confusing this world we live in hal! WHY IS HE STILL IN OFFICE!?

a bunch of freetards voted him in and now they won't kick him out! wah! we are soooo screwed!

when he stole the election the vision that popped into my head was bush looking at papa bush and lil bush says "look pa! i pushed the button!" we are so screwed! hal go to d.c. and tell that weasel we don't want him in office anymore tis time for him to leave.

I personally don't understand why Bush was placed in office a second time. I mean, I can kind of understand his first term - no one knew any better. But why in the name of all that is good was he voted in for a second term? I don't get it. I could write pages and pages of reasons that he should not have been placed in the highest position of power in our country. I think he was bad enough during his first term, but now that he's in his second term and nearing the end of his presidency, he's not holding anything back. We should absolutely impeach a president who has continuously lied to and misled the people he is leading.

I think all this is bullshit myself, honestly, they shouldnt have invated Iraq in the first place...sending young guys to war for money, oil and power. We all know thats the true reason why they the guys are there in the first place and sure as hell not because the bush administration wants to free the people and make iraq a democracy. My fiance is a soldier and just got extended for another three months, like a year isnt enough already.

Hi Hal:

Former President Jimmy Carter had it right the other day when he said that President Bush is the worst President in U.S. history. His entire administration seems to have an arrogant know nothing anti- intellectualism and widespread contempt for the governmental institutions and laws of the United States. You probably have read recently about the White House attempt to expand domestic wiretapping without warrant. Then Attorney General John Ashcroft was gravely ill in a Washington Hospital with pancreatitis and his Deputy refused to agree to the proposed practice, saying it was unconstitutional. The White House, under Mr. Alberto Gonzales, then Counsel to the President, now Attorney General Of the United States, tried to do an end run around the Deputy by approaching Mr. Ashcroft on his sickbed to sign off on the measure but he also refused, agreeing with his Deputy that it was unconstitutional. The White House thereupon backed down.

The United States at the moment seems to be in an Alice in Wonderland state where reality has a hard time penetrating the public conciousness. The fury of the right at those who oppose them knows no boundaries of decency, integrity or concern for the public interest.

In comparison to the great harm George W. Bush has done to the United States the transgressions of Richard Nixon in Watergate are small potatos and the charges leading to the vote to impeach Bill Clinton in the House of Representatives are downright laughable. Yet you may be sure that President Bush will serve out the remainder of his term free from any fear of impeachment. Such is the current political climate and reality in the United States.

But I have great hope for the future. I believe more and more Americans are waking up to the realities of the situation. This current period will pass into history quickly and will not soon be repeated, in large part due to the courage and patriotism of young Americans like yourself.

All the best,
Tom

Personally, I think an impeachment is way past overdue. It's weird, President Clinton cheats on his wife (which is still a bad thing) and everyone wants to impeach him in a New York minute. President Bush ruined the economy, ruined foreign relations, keeps our troops from coming home, lies to the American people and no one in Washington has had a real discussion on impeaching him? What are they waiting for?

To everyone who is wondering why isn't anyone doing anything to impeach bastard Bush:

Stop waiting for someone else to do it. You guys can do something too. My boyfriend lives in Berkeleyand he and his friends organized and got the city council to pass a referendum in support of impeachment. Citizens got to vote on whether or not they supported the idea. The referendum was unanimously passed, and the majority of voters were in favor of impeachment. They also got a referendum going in San Fransisco as well. Sure, it can't directly boot Bush out, but it could send a powerful message if people got things like this passed in their own city councils.

I think the problem right now is that while people like the idea they don't think it will happen, and that same apathy is happening in Congress. Why bother if it won't work? I think if an overwhelming number of voters made their voices heard (and not just in uber libeal places like Berkeley), it might make some people in Congress seriously consider the idea.

Just sayin'. Get involved!

The democrats are screwing it up to, they dropped their deadline for troop return and gave the fucktard( thanks for the word) a blank check to keep feeding fellow Americans to the war cannons.
Not enough people are angry about it. We are not securing our borders from anything. I just rode back through one of Border Patrol checkpoints. The brainless moron asked if we were Americans and waved us through before we had answered. I could have came in with a car full of Al-Queda if thats all the security at the border. ( Plus my mother in law could have rode in the car instead of under hood:) That's a joke:)
We are being hosed all the way around. We are being fed one lie after another.
