On this day, over two hundred years ago, we decided we did not want
a dictator and established a government for, of and by the people.
The best way I can think of to honor that choice and envigorate it's meaning is
to spend time, like the time we spend on memorial day honoring those who gave their
lives to preserve our way of life, reaquainting ourselves with what this country is
all about. So...

This country still matters.
And this country is simply an idea.
An Idea held deeply and boldy in the hearts and minds of individuals.
I have often found it ironic that the day we call "Independence day" is really about us as a collective.
Our country exists only because we wish it so and, more importantly, make it so.
