It's easy to get all caught up with the doom and the gloom, and I'm as much a victim of that as anyone. I try to stay positive about things, but sometimes the world gets a little... you know... too much.

Anyway, at times like that, I think it's important to step back and remember what's good about you, what's good about your life, what's good about this world we live in.

A couple weeks ago, I was really down on everything. And I don't know that things have gotten MIRACULOUSLY better since then, but I've had some time to sort through my feelings and put things in perspective.

And I have a new rooommate, so at least I'm not going to get evicted this month! Yay, non-eviction!

(It's funny. We actually met through this blog. Sort of. I'll tell you the whole story sometime down the road.)

OH! And I totally met a mole person this week! Well, a mole WOMAN to be precise. It was SO COOL!

The mole woman's name was Effny, and she comes from a secret civilization of mole people called the Sormm that live THOUSANDS of miles beneath our city. Apparently, she was stranded here a few years back during an aborted surface world invasion.

We met at Starbucks. She was sneaking free milk.

Effny's been living on the street for the last few years, but she's trying to put her life together now. She's writing a one woman show about her experiences.

And, honestly, if Effny the Mole Woman can get her stuff together, who can't?

Yay, Effny! Yay, my new roommate! Yay, me! Yay's all around.

And for those who are keeping track, ArchEnemies 2 is out this coming Wednesday! The writer, Drew, is throwing in a lot of cool REAL WORLD stuff, like superheroes and supervillains and all that. Supposedly, he's written me a cute little cameo in the series, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet!
