Hey Yall.  So, I was pokin around on my myspace earlier reading comments and stuff...and noticed I have not posted a blog SINCE july!  That is unacceptable.  Sorry. This is going to be a synopsis of kinda whats been happening in my little world...

OK.  July was hot.   August was also hot.  September was even hotter.

just kidding.

So, July and August were actually pretty busy months for us...Just played a lot of shows and tried to beat the damn Texas heat...

We have been playing musical chairs with drummers and that's never fun!   So, keep your ear holes open if you know of a harmony singing drummer that's looking to ROCK it country style and can be on the road a lot and away from home.

September rolled around, and my friends, The Randy Rogers Band, asked us to go out with them for all their CD release dates.  That was a BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I haven't had that much fun since the super walmart opened in my hometown...Any of you that know how much I love WALMART know that this is A HUGE COMPLIMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  In fact I love it so much that I got pissed when that movie with Natalie Portman came out where she slept in Wal Mart.  Why have I never thought of that??  : )

From the 4th of October thru yesterday, I have spent 4 weeks in Nashville. 
I have a little apartment up there and just go up for about 7-10 days at a time to write.  I have been doing a TON of that lately....

I've been writing with some bad asses up there and have made some really good friends along the way....These are some of the folks that I've been blessed to have come in to my life and been kind enough to have taken time outta their busy schedules to write with me...I've learned alot and CANNOT wait for you to hear the songs we've been working on...This is NOT name droppin by the way, I just think that the writers never get the credit that's due!  So, I love each of these people for different reasons: TGMH (The Great Monty Holmes), Wayd Battle : ), John Scott Sherrill, Brennen Leigh (yes my best friend...she's also doing the Nashville thing), Randy Rogers, George Ducas, Heather Little, Luke Laird, Liz Rose, Lori McKenna, Ashley Monroe, Thom Schuyler, Angaleena Presley, Odie Blackmon, Billy Yates, Radney Foster, Jay Clementi, Tony Martin, Brett Beavers, Reed Neilsen, Shannon and Adam Wright, Adam Hood, Terry McBride, Drew Hall, Raul Malo, Byron Hill, DB Harris, Lisa Carver, Verlon Thompson....

I'm gonna try to put some of the new songs up (just the worktapes) so you can tell me what you think of them...I've gotta figure out how to be smart on the computer first...So, I'm trying to get my friend to help me...So stay tuned for that...Or come to a show.. We have been playing all the new songs live to get fan opinions...I'd love to have yours!

We have picked out some songs for the record with my A&R girl at Big machine that I LOVE!  Her name is Allison and she's like my long lost sibling.  Swear.

So, that's kinda what I've been up to lately....Just hangin in there...Tryin to hold on!

Thank you to all you Austin folks that came to our new First Thursday show at Saxon!  We will be doing that in December too...So, hope you can make it out again!
