Last year Bob Dylan compiled a song list for Starbucks' Artist Choice Series. In addition to offering up a keen selection of country, blues, and jazz, he also supplied notes and commentary as to why he held the songs in such regard. BUT, the best part was the forward.

He wrote, "When I was asked to put together this collection of songs, I wasn't sure what to do. So I just grabbed a bunch of things I was into recently. Some people have favorite songs, but I've got songs of the minute -- songs that I'm listening to right now. And if you ask me about one of those songs a year from now, I might not even remember who did it, but at the moment it's everything to me."

I bring this up as today's lesson: Nothing is final. One day you're high. The next day you're low. You might have a funky, expressive, or awful haircut today, but soon it will grow into something else, something new and random. Maybe you grew up liking pop music and boy bands, but now you like a specific mash up of Electronic & Classical. You might decide you don't want to smoke cigarettes anymore; that it's just not who you are. Maybe you were a staunch republican but now have curiosities about the well-spoken and well-organized Democratic Nominee. Perhaps you were madly in love last week, but woke up today feeling comfort in solitude, without a desire to be held.

Everything is fine. Not finAL.

We tend to instantly identify with "things." And we believe in so much, when in fact, a belief isn't known to be true. It's a hope for the truth. We hold grudges because of what someone said when we were young. We store hurtful words and replay them in our minds until we think it to be true. And some of us believe a TV commercial and think we need a faster computer, a smarter phone, a stronger pill, a more relaxed-fit jean, etc. We think that certain things, thoughts, or actions make us who we are and sometimes we become addicted to those thoughts or behaviors and then become too afraid to let them go.

I write and post a lot therefore many people assume I have every self-published word memorized or that I live these shared thoughts constantly. This is not the case. My brain doesn't reference myself very well actually, and I'm sure I contradict myself every other day in one way or another. One day I feel like I have all the wisdom of the world and the next day my soul wears thin and I stutter just ordering ice cream.

And everything is fine.

Because I trust in the ever-changing climate of the heart. (At least, today I feel that way.) I think it is necessary to have many experiences for the sake of feeling something; for the sake of being challenged, and for the sake of being expressive, to offer something to someone else, to learn what we are capable of. These meanderings, rants, and blogs for instance, provide a great deal of comfort just sharing it, even though i put a part of myself on the line to be criticized or considered an ass.
Oh well, Courage is triumph of the soul is guess. and an Ass can still be of great service.

So Remember, You have the right to change your mind.

About anything.

Anytime.

This is not the ending.

P.S. – No doesn't mean forever. It simply means, "Not right now."

And on the topic of Not right now, whatever happened to you in the past is not happening now.

You will be safe behind your honest decisions and mood swings.

I promise.

Very funny.... it cracks me up how people seem to take things soooo seriously! Way to lighten up the situation. Jason speaks his mind! All he does is share his feelings in hopes that people might learn something. I have never felt in anyway that he is pushing his views on anyone. He seems to believe in the freedom of speech which this great country has allowed us to have. Stop taking everything so literally!! Live life to the fullest and VOTE! I don't think it matters who YOU vote for...... just VOTE!!!

Thank you for all that you are JASON!!! You inspire me!! :o)

And Jason - I am actually a therapist (of the mental health variety) and when I am training new up and coming therapists I tell them that their job is not to change their client's thoughts or moods ... it is to help them stick with that particular thought or mood, because if you give it the chance, it will change itself.

If you looked a little harder you would have approached a point where you found out that both Democrats & Republicans are full of shit. McCain and the majority of his team are industry deregulators. C'mon dude do you even remember the Reagan era. That was the almost the entire selling point of his tenure in the White House. Stop link hunting to support your partisanship only. Here's some balance for you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxBCAaulG-k
&
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvKjTeU7O6w

McCain is neck deep in this crap too. In fact for all intents and purposes he is actually a criminal. The Senate decided to merely chastise him on the floor instead of seeking charges even though he was likely the primary benefactor among the Keating 5.

Do all of your homework. Unbridled Global Ultra-Capitalism is a euphemism for market consolidator. It tells you it's there to promote "competition" when it does just the opposite. The de-regulatory tendency is encouraged by the lobby (which beats populism as a matter of $ value) and then once unlocked the major players devour everything and thus eliminate market nuance (competition, innovation). Once they are the only game in town prices rise, wages drop, employment drops (due to streamlined processes and 3rd world outsourcing) and quality turns to shit because they know that they are the only game in town. Mix that type of ethic in with the banking industry and you get a handful of banks with all of our eggs in their basket. Due to their coziness with Washington they feel fine passing capital risks to us (taxpayers) knowing that the socialist guarantee is theirs in the form of bailouts that will always be sold as necessary. By trying to blame this on one side you effectively missed the point and are screaming at your neighbor as the thief walks calmly out of your house with your money.

Are you looking for people to actually defend f*cking Maxine Waters? Dude, only the dumbest Democrats would give that congressional ilk the time of day. People are voting for Obama because like it or not he hasn't been in Washington very long. Sure his proposed policies are very similar to McCain's, but McCain has a long and proven track record of being supportive of the shittiest president ever, be pro-deregulation (even now; either stupid or evil), pro-fucked up costly nation-building war (you know government spending) and if that isn't enough Sarah Palin literally sets women back 30 f*cking years with her ridiculous ignorance. Compare her to Condi on the Right and Hilary on the Left and you know where she stands intellectually. She is a moron. She is a sales pitch. They gambled soccer-momishness against a Black dude in the aftermath of his not nominating Hilary. It was a nice shot in the arm, but short lived once people realized that not knowing shit about foreign policy or having shitty judgment is actually a bad idea for someone who's a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Just some FYI for you. I could care less. I'm a Ron Paul guy under normal situations.

Ron a whole 5 years ago: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul128.html

Handing Bernanke's ass to him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv6rQ0U01Yc

[Bernanke comes back with a bs argument which asks us to see the borrowing as something that won't be monetized when he's fully aware that it automatically is by nature of the transaction]

Ron Paul is indeed awesome - he won my heart shortly after reading about him. He would've had my vote if he didn't drop out - too bad all candidates don't get the same amount of attention. Right now it's just a popularity contest, which is heartbreaking because nobody's really digging past Fox News and learning what's really going on.

"So i've been hearing that lately. Previously, i've been advocating to not vote for McCain, but I have not really given any reasons to vote for Obama.

What exactly is wrong with an Obama presidency?

There really are not any negative aspects of his candidacy besides what he has revealed about the American people as a society.

In his experience, and yes, he does have a good amount of experience when you combine the state and federal senatorial tenures, he has consistently voted yes on issues that are tantamount to what we SHOULD have.

On other issues, besides possibly the act to grant immunity to the telecom companies that illegally spied on us, he has consistently voted no, or "present" to establish his lack of support.

Furthermore, with his choice of Biden as his VP, he has foundationally defeated any claims that his executive time in the white house would be perceived as unexperienced.

Now, to my first point. He has revealed very telltale things about the American people.

1.) It is true he does not wear a flag lapel pin, but it is in protest of the Iraqi War. By protesting the Iraqi War so openly and constantly, he is showing more patriotism then most people in this country.

2.) He is not a muslim. He has been baptized as a christian, he does not pray to Mecca, he attends a christian church, he does not adhere to any muslim standards. Under the law of the koran, none of these things could happen. He would not go to paradise were he to baptized as a christian, nor if he did not partake in his prayers, or attend a mosque.

3.) Obama has infinitely more experience then Palin, whom has been involved in numerous scandals.

4.) Obama can identify with the majority of Americans. He was raised in an impoverished household, and also in an impoverished country. After being born into a rough situation, he raised himself out of his position, to go to Harvard, and now potentially be months away from giving his inaugural speech. Because of his background financially, he identifies with us.

5.) He is on more foreign relations committees then ANY other Senator, including McCain, and Obama is even the chairman. He has dealt with many nations, under the veil of peace, and as president, he will do the same. Perhaps he could make America begin its steps in the right direction to unify the world, instead of tearing it apart with a potential WWIII like McCain could very possibly do.

6.) He has shown a great reluctance to accepting money from lobbyists, and has turned away many donors that have connections to lobbying firms. This shows that his political standpoints will not waver because of money.

7.) His policies are great. Even the "inflate your tire correctly" policy is ingenious. Experts everywhere will attest to the fact that if all people in the US would inflate their tires to the proper pressure, it would bring down America's gas consumption by 4%.

In contrast, McCain's policy (created shortly after being paid a large lump sum from various oil companies) is to "drill drill drill". The problem with that is. 1.) we will not get any usable oil for 10 years 2.) It will equal to around 1% of our current consumption and 3.) 75% of the oil fields currently open for drilling are sitting there undrilled.
Why not drill there before ruining another habitat?

So those, are the reasons to vote for Obama come November, or at least support him and spread the word.

However, I still maintain that McCain IS the 1 reason to vote for Obama."

Dude you catch that one interview where Obama made a little Freudian slip by saying "My muslim faith"? The interviewer asked "Don't you mean your Christian faith?". Snakes (socialists, liberals) can not be trusted.

RODNEY CUTTING CONFESSIONS WRITER DJ BILLBOARD FAN

A dangerous stalker has text messaged me a death and stabbing threat against Bristol palin and her unborn child-he has been reported to the Secret Service-complete story at my blog

Cutting Confessions-one of the most bizarre love stories ever. A midwestern man and an abused and artistic Jewish Beverly Hills girl are brought together by repeated weird acts of fate and unexplainable attraction-set in Beverly Hills, Pasadena and the Las Vegas Strip with heavy emphasis on the music-both original songs and remakes of all time classics. See blog.

A 14 year old girl is raped when a Pasadena hospital admits a criminal and his parole officer-why did it happen and what would happen to her in Sarah Palin's America?-see blog

Hmmmm...why does everyone jump at the opportunity to respond FIRST? I think I was the first one to comment on a blog once...is there some secret prize that you win...I feel jipped!

IF there is a secret prize...ummmm...I'd like it to be an ice-cream social with Jason Mraz as my date. At least, that's what I want right now. ;)

And while I'm at it, I may as well type out the rest of my fantasy prize...sooo, the ice-cream social date will fun...maybe we'll have some great music and conversation...but then we'll get bored and want to go somewhere else...maybe for a walk...then we'll discover how much we enjoy each other's company...and soon we'll be making out, mixing the flavors of our ice cream in our mouths................................eventually, we'll get married and have beautiful children and live on an avocado farm in California. With a couple of cats and maybe a dog. And we'll drive environmentally responsible cars. And spend quiet evenings staring up at the stars and just being awestruck and grateful for how amazingly wonderful this world is.

Too bad I wasn't first!

Love,
Noell
