A lot of my comrades have been hitting me up for clarification on the discussion between myself and Lupe yesterday (Sunday, January 6, 2008).  So, the following details exactly what happened so that no one gets it twisted.
WARNING: This is for intellectuals only!  Please read thoroughly so that you won't miss any of our points.  Let's start with the interview on
SOHH.com that Lupe conducted that started this:

SOHH Exclusive: Lupe Fiasco Bypasses Barack Obama, "I Want Hillary To Win"
written by Danica Dow

Over the next month voters across the country will get to pick candidates for the two major political parties. In light of the official beginning of voting season in Iowa, SOHH caught up with Lupe Fiasco to see who he is throwing his support behind.

"I'm not voting for anybody," Lupe told SOHH. "I don't believe in voting on that level. But I want Hillary [Clinton] to win," he says. Surprisingly, the Chicago emcee does not support the junior United States Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama.

"Obama doesn't really impress me like that," Lupe told SOHH. "It's not a shot at him but some of his agendas, the bombing of Iran and all that stuff.* He ain't gonna do nothing but perpetuate the nonsense that all the Presidents before have done, and what Bush is doing now. It's to the point now where the world is so twisted and so messed up that we need somebody to come in."

Tonight's Iowa caucus marks the first major electoral event of the nominating process for the 2008 Presidential election by essentially voting on which candidates should represent their respective parties. Because of its "first" status, the Iowa caucus is especially influential in the process of electing the Democratic and Republican candidates.

If Clinton takes Iowa, she is in a better position to win in the immediate state caucasses that follow.

"I think Hillary will set an example for women all around the world and hopefully effect some change, as opposed to another man pushing for agendas and pushing policies," Lupe said. "I think even if she don't do anything, just the statement that it makes--that the United States is run by a women--would be so phenomenal for the world."

At press time Senators Clinton, Obama, and John Edwards are in a statistical three-way tie according to most polls.

[*Editors note: While all the major Democratic candidates--including Clinton, Obama and Edwards--say they would not remove military option off the table, when it comes to Iran, none have said they support the bombing of Iran.]

===============

Then, here is the blog that I wrote to address it:

Don't Let Your Arrogance Fuel Your Ignorance (SUPPORT BARACK!)

Recently, a prominent Hip-Hop website asked an artist who they supported in the 2008 presidential primaries.  Shockingly, their response was Hillary Clinton.  Now, I'm not one to judge a person's political, religious or [even] artistic views; however, the reasons that this artist gave were so fucking erroneous and outrageous that it compels me to speak out, even if only to give fans the right information so that we are not following uninformed-ass rappers down the hole of 'abstract nothingness.'

First of all, the facts:
Barack Obama has stated he is not opposed to military action against Iran if they were persistent in their ambitions to obtain nuclear weapons; weapons being the operative word.  However, he also states that as president, he plans to talk to Iran without preconditions about certain assurances in the context of them showing some good faith, as well.  Barack Obama stated "I think it is important for us to send a signal that we are not hell-bent on regime change, just for the sake of regime change, but expect changes in behavior. And there are both carrots and there are sticks available to them for those changes in behavior." This clearly does not describe the agenda of a candidate who supports 'the bombing of Iran and all that stuff.'

I would be very interested to know if this particular artist even knows what Hillary Clinton's position is pertaining to military action against Iran; and, no, I'm not giving him the answer.

Barack Obama being the only Black senator from Illinois automatically gives me a sense of pride and appreciation for his journey.  Of course, for America to be flipped on its axis with a qualified woman president would be a significant milestone in this chapter of our country's history.  But, I fail to see how a qualified Black man as president wouldn't be just as significant a milestone.  Please, to all artists who dare to speak on political issues in this election: understand that Barack Obama won the Iowa caucus by inspiring more young people and women to vote than any previous presidential candidate.  How could it not be impressive to see the new Bobby Kennedy of our day in the White House?

In the words of Gabriel when he revealed the Holy Qur'an to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the cave: "READ." Please do not let your arrogance be the fuel for your ignorance.

Peace,
Fest a/k/a

Now, the following discussion is what took place on the Okayplayer message boards between myself and Lupe on his thread entitled "And furthermore nigga!!!!..." after someone on Okaplayer said "Damn Lupe, you going to respond to Rhymefest's post?" Lupe responded with the following:
not in public...thats wack...I'll call him tomorrow...

...unless we devise a sinister under the table plot to faux battle each other furiously over the topic via youtube only to bring more attention to our projects then take the ill gotten booty and buy Phantoms with it that we will then proceed to drive in the homemade videos made of the diss records also to be debuted on youtube...

Then, I decided to respond to him.  Here it goes:

Rhymefest:
I'm responding to your post because you don't have my number.

Please fam...don't let some of these people on the boards get the situation twisted for you. I'm not dissing or coming at you on any level. In fact, I love the song "Go Go Gadget Flow" off of your new album, and I encourage everyone to purchase The Cool. Chitown is on the rise! However, Barack Obama also lives in Chicago, and at the very least we have to not put out information that is wrong or can be misconstrued by people on the outside OR the fans that love, listen, and follow what we say.

As a brother, all I'm asking you to do is tell the people that you really don't know what Barack Obama's position is on Iran, or at least not when you did the SOHH interview.

In my original post, I did not mention your name or the actual source of the interview. Just to let you know, my mission is not to down you, but to big up Barack Obama.

If you or anyone else supports any other candidates such as Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul, or whomever---I think that those are all fine candidates; I just find it irresponsible to tell untruths about any of them.

Lupe, please tell the people Barack Obama does NOT support bombing Iran.

Lupe:
In Response To Fest...

Have no fear...the misconstruding bias that exists in the OKP doesn't affect me to the point of turning on my people in a negative way...even when my people are the ones misconstruding it...

let me first reinforce my stance on national politics and the American System based on a mispractice and abomination of true democracy...

i have no faith in it...never have, never will...a mindset instilled at a very young age by a pro-active, Black Panther party promoting, revolutionary father and a very intellectual damn near anarchist mother with more than enough facts to back it up...

I've been around politics and politicians my whole life...got the baby pictures with The Honorable Harold Washington to prove it...Recently i was just honored alongside Hillary Clinton as one of shining stars of Cook County (if u didnt know she from around the way as well)...I know and have seen what this system is capable of both good and bad...some of my peeps are state reps and the such...if that even means anything to the point

I say this to let you know first off I'm educated in the process...so much so that I dont agree with it..more importantly I wasnt out to slander Obama...If it was misinformation that I received then I apologize on behalf of the source but like I said I am still going back to recheck the validity of the source...if that is not his stance now then so be it...my opinion of Hillary being in Office over Obama is merely because she is a woman and I believe the act of a woman leading the strongest nation in the world will have unforeseen side effects and may act as a catalyst for change the world over more so than that of a black man...is that a fact? NO...does it even really matter? NO...they both still tow the line and champion the ideals of their respective party...which is flawed in its nature (The Party Line that is)...For Example...Continuing the fruitless and very illegal and very oppressive and very repressive also very very expensive "War On Terror" was one of the first things off his lips @ the Iowa victory speech FACT!!!...Just like all the candidates would've said if they would have won...I say this because they are all the same...Race has nothing to do with it...see Condelezza Rice & Colin Powell (or any of the other black leaders in Africa that continue to rape and pillage the motherland and its people just like the white british & dutch did)...its about Justice and Equality and I dont hear Justice and Equality from any of these canidates that are on the forefront...not even Hillary...I'm not impressed...Im not impressed like i was impressed by Malcolm or Martin or continue to be impressed by Chomsky or Cornel West...I dont hear true Social Equality...I hear traditional American Democracy & retorhic (i dont think I spelled that right) which is my brother nothing but bullshit...

in closing I think that if I said all that in response to SOHH it might have been clearer that Lupe Fiasco doesnt even support the system as a whole so what he thinks of the candidates who are running to head it up isnt even relevant...maybe I'm wrong..maybe it will be the start of a renaissance that will change the face of the world and we will be blessed with Social Utopia or maybe my nigga got the blessing of the Iluminatti and is just meant to bring us one step closer to having a chip in our fucking heads...either way I'm good..as long as there is the word of Allah (SWT) and the leadership of his prophets that will always reign supreme...

Men build castles of sand even when rain is sure to come...

Blessings and Godspeed in your struggles for truth...

Salaam...

I'm still callin too!!! hahaha

Rhymefest:
First of all...

All praise IS due to God, and I thank God that we're able to have this type of dialogue ESPECIALLY in hip hop. However, I was not born into a political revolutionary family like you. My father was a crackhead alcoholic. My mother was 15 years old when I was born. I was raised around gang members. So personally, when I hear Barack Obama speak about hope and its audacity, that is a message that I can relate to.

Being raised on the Southside of Chicago under the conditions that many of us are subject to, I haven't had the opportunity to become desensitized to the political and social ramifications of a Black president. My brother, it does mean something. I don't believe that Barack Obama is the 'same ol' same'. Did you know that in a recent poll 69% of whites think it's possible for a Black president, while only 47% of Blacks thought it was? This suggests to me that our cynicism and disbelief will surely be the death of us.

I believe in Allah and all of his prophets. However, I believe God also sends messengers in the form of parents, community leaders, and yes---politicians. Barack Obama speaks against lobbyists and their influence on the political system and candidates. Did you know that his campaign was funded not by lobbyists with corporate agendas, but by individuals like you and I? Considering the millions that he has raised, a lot of individuals believe in the audacity of his hope.

Lupe, this can be a great moment for us; even though I know you don't have my number, I will still expect your call, LOL.

It seems to me as if you're not sure if change can or cannot happen. Our recent successes, and Barack's recent success in Iowa, is proof that with faith all things are possible.

Lupe:
I admire your audacity in the face of your plights. My faith is where its supposed to be...with the Lord...

trust my opinoins are molded not alone by political thought and high discourse around the house...but also by niggaz getting shot in my hallway, hookers turning tricks in the stairways we played in and finding heroin needles while playing football in the front yard...crooked cops and crooked aldermans with a different gang on every block...that would be the westside my friend...it happened to all of us...so i look for beacons of hope as well and where I see it is not in the face of a politician in this day and age...Sadly and Happily I see it where it's always been...in the face of the people!!!...as far as US who keep US back and are among the cynics and undesireables i wonder what the cleasing process is for US?...Ovens, Internment, re-education on the glorious mechanics of the system or how about Gauntanimo or what about censorship or just a good level of ignoring??? or quarantine them to the worst parts of town give them a shitty education and an econmomy based on narcotics, welfare and minimum wage and let them kill themselves in wars over obtaining luxury goods?...how do u handle your own kind who dont believe in what u beleve?...I guess we dont count cuz we dont vote becuz we dont believe in the hollow promises of liars and a system that has shitted on us for over 400 years using principles that our precious politicians and canidates still hold dear to this very day...a contract of social equality written by slaveowners...that deserves so many "fuck outta here's" it aint even funny...

I pray for change...and change will come...i dont know in what form...is it Obama? maybe...

God gave us the ability to have faith...He also gave us a brain...i like to use mine together sometimes...

Salaam...

STAY PLUGGED!

word is bond.

i dont think any social equality can come for niether tha original black and brown people of tha earth through this unworkable capitalism installed on my peoples land of Anahuac that we call tha "United Snakes of Amerikkka."

how can we achieve social equality as we as people of color want in a system that is in nature anti-equality?

think about it...it's based on "everybody get yours and f*ck tha rest." this is divide and conquer yall.

you cant win tryin to work through a system created by tha enemy for tha enemy to succeed in maintaining power.

my comrade Fest, i'm feelin you wantin to see our peoples succeed and attain true freedom. but take it from an ancestor of tha original people of this hemisphere...

THERE IS NO TREATY OF DEAL THAT CAN BE MADE WITH OR THROUGH THE CURRENT CAPITALIST SYSTEM OF AMERIKKKA OR ITS OLDER BROTHER EUROPE THAT WILL HELP OUR PEOPLE. MY PEOPLE HAVE OUTSTANDING TREATIES THAT WERE NEVER HONORED THAT ARE OVER 400 YEARS OLD.

...AND MY PEOPLE WERE GENOCIDED.

trust, you dont want tha same outcome for tha original people of tha eastern hemisphere that tha original people of tha western hemisphere recieved.

take a page from tha mighty Lakota. if you want to help our people the first thing we gotta do is understand the American system is not OUR system. we need to break away and create our OWN system for our people.

how many more hundreds of years do you want us black and brown to ask for equality through a system not built for us? If you want equality we have to get it for ourselves.

dats how you Killuminatti.

word is bond.

oh Rhymefest, get your facts straight and dont believe the lies: "Barack Obama has stated he is not opposed to military action against Iran if they were persistent in their ambitions to obtain nuclear weapons" - Iran has never and under no circumstances expressed the wish to 'obtain nuclear waeapons'. all they want to do is plutonium for power plants. no more no less.

and even if they wanted nucealer weapons... whats the problem? us is allowed to have them, north korea, pakistan, russia, even fuckign israel but not iran? im no friend of iran, its ruled by fanatics (if you look at it like this, wheres the difference between the us and iran? that you voluntarily CHOOSE the fanatic who rules you?) but if theres any justice in the world, why are they not supposed to have them?

if the us fucks with iran, WW3 is on - the people might not necessarily support their leaders, but their pride. theyre persians, not arabs, make no mistake. anyway its 3:21 am and i have to go to bed now. PEACE! (and i mean it)

Get your fucking facts straight! Obama supports nonproliferation!

And this is what he had to say specifically about Iran:
“In light of the fact that we’re now in Iraq, with all the problems in terms of perceptions about America that have been created, us launching some missile strikes into Iran is not the optimal position for us to be in”

The reason no one wants anyone in the Middle East to have nukes is because it's unstable. Look what's happening everyday! Look what happened to Bhutto!

You said Iran is ruled by fanatics well why the hell would anyone want nukes in the hands of fanatics!?!
You also say we choose the fanatics well last time I check Iran was a democracy as well.

The beginning of the post clearly states: Warning for intellectuals only...you should have taken heed and at least read up before you make outrageous claims.

Yo, for real, this is why I'm happy to be a fan of Fest and Fiasco. Two dudes came with it and chopped it up politically using their status to make us think deep. Why can't everyone speak to each other on such a level? Why is everyone else concerned about what happened on a reality show that exploits ignorant beings who are carefully selected as pawns for the NEW Blacksploitations.
I'm telling soo many peoples to read this blog because this is something RARE today. So many people are focusing on lesser problems, lesser values and multiplying nothing into nothing which of course will lead to nothing.

(Rhymefest, I'm sick of waiting, you need to drop your CD. I'm anxious.)

Idea: Man in the Mirror Mix Tape was hot, How about getting with Lupe for a THINK DEEPER Mix tape. Keep the hotness coming because it is going to take a lot of positive energy to outweigh the negative.

Salams ans peace to our fellow man
It is indeed nice to see some intellectual discussion on any level of HipHop let alone politics. Yall are part of the few that even attempt to deleiver "outside of the box" type content for all us fans. The truth is politics affects even the air you breathe so we ALL better be damn concerned about it. Does that mean we have to come up with thoughtless slogans like "Vote or Die?" Obviously not because as the world has reported WE voted and WE continue to die.

I have to agree with Lupe though about voting on that level. Its futile to think that we really have a choice in who will lead the Worlds ruling nation. I do however belive you can affect much change on a local and state level, and maybe even lobby to make certain federal changes. As history has truly proven time and time again, more vividly in the last 8 years, the real powers that be will do whatever they can to remain exactly that. Even if it means assassinating our own President.

As far as WE are concerned we def need to define who we are before saying these certain candidates will bring change to OUR people. Correct me if I'm wrong but even before the recent Bhutto assassination Obama was asserting the idea of moving into Pakistan before the current adminstration had to make their intentions clear that they dont support his comments.

Clinton on the other hand as documented in Michael Moore's Sicko also switched up her so called unwavering stance on Health Care and receives nice checks from the healthcare lobbyists. Not to mention which way she supported in invading Iraq.

At the end of the day we're only gonna end up supporting the lesser of two or more evils. You might catch me voting or supporting when our govt stops killing innocent people here and abroad, oppressing people in general, and maybe changing this enslaving economy. BUT LETS KEEP THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX!

May Allah guide us and hear the call of the oppressed
PEACE!

Interesting concepts. I think you guys should give up on trying to "outsmart" eachother. If Mr. Lupe Fiasco wants to think the way he does, then he has the right to. If you want to think the way you do, then you have the right to. That, my friend, is the power of voting.

I am, though, voting for Barack Obama. Not because he is Black, but because he represents my ideas, views and believes best.

I have to agree with Lupe all day on this issue..the american political system is so flawed that they even have conscious minded people falling victim to our own conditioning.Presidential canidates are not decided by the people. It's not even decided by the so called electorial colleagues. The powers that be are bigger than republican and Democrat there are unseen forces at hand that control america and every other major country with over protected political interest. In the dream world it looks good on paper for Barack Obama to win but truth be told its all propaganda and vice versus with Hilary Clinton. The Clinton administration was just as crooked as the Bush administration only difference is Bush has the balls to put it out in open while Clinton took the traditional route most american presidents have taken and hidden their true agenda's.Its not my job to discourage anyone from voting but if you look at the facts it's hard to dispute the truth surrounding the issue.People said the african community didn't vote prior to Bush's first term.Thats a lie..how the hell you think he actually lost the original election.People said we didn't vote the second term..thats a lie..I saw lifetime drug dealers and gang bangers voting.

Lupe is right on the money with his response...read "Behold A Pale Horse"..the general public does not decide the president even if you do vote and lets say they actually do an honest tally on the votes for once even still its not an honest election because each person was given the blessing to run only after the powers that be decided what position in the grand scheme of globalization that person would play.IT'S BIGGER THAN DEMOCRAT AND REPULICAN..and those two party's are are actually ONE PARTY with combined interest.
Me and my homie were just talking about how blatant it's gonna be if Obama is the next president and what if the Illuminati white crackers had a meeting with dude..it sounds crazy but its reality.Maybe he's being pawned into the position and doesn't know it yet either way its not about progression and change and all this bullshit their throwing out there for people to latch onto and feel some type of aspiration for hope. You lead the sheep to the slaughter with one of their own.

wow...after reading this dialougue...i am impressed with the backgrounds that support eachothers statements....you can truly envision the lifestyles that created such diverse outlooks on our political infrastructure.....

at the end of the day though, i tink that it is important to all that we kep our faith and support for God and His Divine Plan for our futures....it is important to stay humbled by lifes' walk...and to only support our King.....the physical manifestation of His intentions, we pray, will be evidenced in our upcoming president......or....His catastrophic disgust with our inability to take the physical "eyes" away from this political equation and truly "see" these candidates for who and what they are....and we fall as a great nation.......ask Jericho about its history....lol....the bottom line for me today is.....HIP HOP IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL!!!! we are not just talking guns and drugs parents!!! we are role-modelling the new fashion trend.....(taken from the ideals of the streets)...GROWTH OF OUR STAND....DEVELOPEMENT OF THE MINDS AND SOULS....LOVE IN OUR HEARTS...PEACE IN OUR COMMUNITIES....FREEDOM IN OUR SPEECHES....JUSTICE IN OUR MOVEMENTS OF ACTION....TRUTH IN OUR WORDS....AND A COMMON GOAL FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR FUTURE....

3 things i have to let out:

no. 1=
myspace peeps, y'all better read ALL of this. talk about it, discuss it with your friends and family, THINK about it. that's how politics should affect us. we should share our opinions and listen to others. with respect.

no. 2=
fest and lupe, both of you have an opinion and i can understand and relate to both of you.
there is no right or wrong when it comes to the beliefs of an individual.
that's why i think it's great how you both just dealt with that situation.
i don't want to post my political opinion here and now because that would take a whole lot of space and my english isn't good enough to express all of my thoughts ;)

and no. 3=
you are both very smart and well educated men.
besides all the crap and the bad influences that hip hop shows the world every day,
these are the moments that remind me why i love you both as hip hop artists and why i married
this culture for what it is and i wish more people would be interested in hearing the opinion
of artists like you in public.

thanks to the internet, we all can inform ourselfs about anything there is.
in the polarized language of the world wide web i would like to say:
thanks for sharing!

WOW, NOT ONLY IS THAT A BIG STEP FOR 'US' AS PEOPLE, BUT A HUGE STEP FOR HIP HOP. THIS CONVERSATION HERE IS PROVING THAT HIP HOP HAS A BRAIN, SO MUCH FOCUS HAS BEEN ON THE BAD THAT'S INVOLVED IN HIP HOP, ABOUT TIME YOU AND LUPE SHOWED A DIFFERENT SIDE. THOUGH YALL BOTH HAD DIFFERENT OPINIONS, TOGETHER YALL MADE A LOT OF SENSE...... I BELIEVE EITHER WAY IT GOES, IT'S A BIG STEP FORWARD FOR OUR COUNTRY, BUT IF NIETHER GETS IT, THEN THAS A PROBLEM, LOL

Damn, Lupe's out of the loop, your really generous with the number, even i have it. Its good you guys are talking. I'm with you, Fest on this one. A major theme of the the Quran is to challenge the thinking of your parents and constantly refelct. Lupe is kinda closing his mind and clinging to whats comfortable. Theres alot of truth in what both of you said. I think your stances are alot closer than you think. Lupe is thinking about global change and your focus is more personal and local. Both candidates can inspire people but the chances of them actually doing something that makes a difference in peoples lives (besides war) is slim.

Honestly, me personally I don't know about voting this term. It sucks when it feels like your one vote doesn't count (I didn't vote for Bush but wa lah). Aside from that I agree with you and Lupe on different points. Not from a very political stand point because I really haven't been keeping up with it, but just both view points. If Obama did become president it could be a good look for us as a people first and as nation as well. It's one of those things that everyone said would never happen. I think Tupac mentioned the lack of a black president a few times in songs lol (R.I.P.). In seeing where Lupe's coming from though I can also say just because there is a leader doesn't determine his destination for his followers. This last Bush administration was my first time voting and it pretty much left me hopeless as far as trust in a president. All I can say is I hope things don't get too much worse because things are looking kinda bleek right now. I'm glad there is this kind of discussion going on though, because it means something. Although you all might not be in agreement, you all have your points, you're fairly civil about it, and it's not over some petty ish. Peace. (P.S The man in the mirror mixtape is nice!)

FEST PLEASE READ THIS

I applaud you and lupe for your conversation. Sounds crazy, but believe it or not through this discussion you are education many of us whom otherwise, for lack of better english, aint know shit bout politics. Its great that artist such as yourself take time apart from ya schedules to debate and engange in important and intellectual conversations, as oppesed to when the next Jaguar or Hummer truck is dropping.

Now all we need is a Fest/Fiasco track to top it all off, lol (thats the fan in me speaking). But real shit, i think somewhere intertwined in this disscussion, hip-hop is making another power move and shaking off some of the misconceptions of rappers.

I have to say I'm with Lupe as far as not trusting the system, as far as I'm concerned a white woman is no different then a white man. I see no significance in having a women in office to the outside world, while it may be a great achievement for women. I really don't see other countries looking at us any different because we have a woman "in charge". With that said I'm not fully on Obama's wagon either... But we've had 43 white presidents since 1789 over 200 years of the same thing, it's time we put a different face in office. A black president I think would have an effect on our national and world image. A superpower that was built on the back of black slaves, who were oppressed, physically and mentally abused, raped, killed, hunted, who were LEGALLY the property of slave owners, bred like animals, who are still affected by all this... and to have a Black President who was elected by the people of that same country (mostly by whites!) That has to have a huge affect to all minorities around the world! Whether he fucks it all up or does some good... that spark has been lit in eyes of the kids who are growing up... we might be able to see it but our children, children’s will benefit from it....

Whad up Fest! I must admit..i'm surprised that two hip hop artists are speaking on politics but if two hip hop artist were to speak on politics it wouldn't surprise me that it would be you and Lupe. Now having spoken to you personally I know you are intelligent and listening to Lupe rhymes and reading his responses i can assume the same. Now if more artists can take issues like this (politics) and rap about it and feed it to the youth, we might see start to see some change in the way they think and act. Hip hop is like food to the youth and as we all we know America is the junk food nation.

We need more hip hop dialogue like this year..Especially as we close in on November// Isnt it also about time we do away with this Electoral Voting Bullshit as well!???!!! WTF!! Its one thing to uphold and abide by the common sense shit in the Constitution, but to ignore and dismiss a need for progress and change by not conforming with society as it evolves into the present day is fkin ridiculous!!!! Anyway if you dont understand that we dont actually pick who becomes President rather we choose who will be doing the choosing FOR US!! Heres a quick rundown for those who arent educated on the matter : http://pirate.shu.edu/~keelerjo/election/votingprocess.htm

I like to thank both you and Lupe for doing what most hip-hop artist don't have the balls to do and that speak about politic publicly. Hip-hop will benefit when more midwestern artist hit the public lights in the future.
I will like to educate both you and Lupe and most African ancient American about what our roll in the future is (ACT 7:6)in The Bible and as pointed out by KRS-One. Me myself have met both of you at different time in your lives . Lupe wit Big Charles and Rob. and Fest recording wit Strawberry Hard and both of you have that special something that we all need to praise. Me, myself grew up on Chicago's west-side near Lope but my earliest memory was the King riots on Madison St and see all the Black business burned down but also my Aunt great aunt was part of the Breakfast Before School Program that the Black Panther Party sponsored and use to sit and eat as a small child wit Fred Hampton and later after his death Jeff Fort.

But this is what both of you should know and research. While living in Europe for 3 years I found out the lies and propaganda our country promos and distribute. The African American people of slave ancient are the lost Hebrews Jews of Israel better know as God Chosen People and America has been blessed by our presents and trial to survive while were here. And what is happening now is the time of judgement. But we will choose our fate. The world we live in today is an religious one and god has given us all faith but Satan has organized it. If Mrs Hillary Clinton get in office there will be World Wars terrorist and battlefield in the far east. The powers that be would not go for an women being ruler of a world power and self destruction and great genocide would up root as prophesied by Revelations. But if Obama becomes President the world would come at peace but the Great race war in terrorism would conduct state side.

So it the choice of different fronts this election but the most important in World History and I like to thank you both for raising this issue. (Midwest 4 Life)

5 KUDOS for Fest and Lupe

After seeing Barrack take Iowa, and hearing how he hates the lobbyists being ushered into the White House, I am definitely voting for him for my first presidential vote.

I mean, the only reason why there are so many lobbyists in the White House is because the companies and groups they represent pretty much funded and bribed the previous presidents. But besides Barrack, I want Richardson to switch over and be vice president because I like what he stands for.

Thank God for rappers who give a damn, and not retarded ass niggas like Plies...

Lupe, love the music but, "Continuing the fruitless and very illegal and very oppressive and very repressive also very very expensive "War On Terror" was one of the first things off his lips @ the Iowa victory speech FACT!!!" is incorrect on its face.

"And I'll be a president who ends this war in Iraq and finally brings our troops home...who restores our moral standing, who understands that 9/11 is not a way to scare up votes but a challenge that should unite America and the world against the common threats of the 21st century. Common threats of terrorism and nuclear weapons, climate change and poverty, genocide and disease" That the only quote about the "War on Terror" from the Iowa speech. While I agree that current methods used in this fight are fruitless and illegal, Obama isn't going to fight the "War on Terror" with the same methods as current administration. Obama greatest weapon against Al' Qaida and other extermist is himself. As Andrew Sullivan puts it

"Consider this hypothetical. It’s November 2008. A young Pakistani Muslim is watching television and sees that this man—Barack Hussein Obama—is the new face of America. In one simple image, America’s soft power has been ratcheted up not a notch, but a logarithm. A brown-skinned man whose father was an African, who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, who attended a majority-Muslim school as a boy, is now the alleged enemy. If you wanted the crudest but most effective weapon against the demonization of America that fuels Islamist ideology, Obama’s face gets close. It proves them wrong about what America is in ways no words can."

http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200712/obama/3

Now that is changing the world.

thanks for letting us in on this! keep making strong movessss 'fest.
i agree with both of you; we do need change. & i know our "system" isn't perfect, but i still have faith and i'm still going to vote. those politicians must have done something right 400 plus years ago, we are the most powerful nation today. Even though everyone might not technically be equal when some are born into "the worst parts of town" and others get silver spoons, to me the blessing is in the struggle, and this is still the land of oppurtunity.

I THINK ITS A DAMN SHAME THAT PEOPLE ARE GIVING U AND LUPE PROPS FOR BEING ABLE TO ARGUE OVER POLITICS. I ALSO THINKS A DAMN SHAME THAT THE TWO OF YOU ARE FURTHERING AND SUPPORTING THE IDEA THAT PEOPLE SHOULD NOT VOTE BECAUSE ITS NOT LIKE IT MATTERS. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT. THE 2000 ELECTION WAS A JOKE BUT IT WAS IMPORTANT..FROM THAT MOMENT ON IT SHOULD HAVE BECOME CLEAR TO THE US BUT ESPECIALLY THE MINORITY THAT WE MUST VOTE.I THINK ITS ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT MINORITY IS RACIAL, YES, BUT ALSO ECONOMIC. LETS NOT ACT LIKE THERE AREN'T WHITE PEOPLE WHO ARE FLAT BROKE LIVING IN GHETTOS LACKING THE MOST BASIC NECESSITIES.IF EVERYONE WHO CAN VOTE DOES IT WILL GET HARDER AND HARDER TO DENY THE OPINION OF THE MAJORITY. THANK GOD U GUYS CAN FORM INDIVIDUAL THOUGHTS ON SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS POLITICS..AND I MEAN THANK GOD LITERALLY..AMEN.FEST I THINK U ARE FUELING IGNORANCE WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF UR MAIN REASONS FOR SUPPORTING OBAMA IS THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN.I THINK LUPE FEELS THAT CLINTON WOULD BE VIEWED AS A HUGE STEP FORWARD BECAUSE IN MOST PLACES IN THE WORLD A WOMAN IS STILL INFERIOR TO A MAN...EVEN IF THAT MAN IS BLACK..SO IT WILL SPEAK VOLUMES IF THIS NATION IS RAN BY A WOMAN. LETS KEEP IN MIND THAT POLITICS IS ALWAYS A TOPIC THAT EVOKES STRONG EMOTION.

SO IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO U VOTE FOR AS LONG AS U VOTE........GET OUT THE VOTE REMEMBER TO REGISTER......

i think u clearly misunderstood what lupe is sayin. i think what he was sayin that's his attitude towards it. and that is how people in da "hood" feel. but i believe in nowhere at all did he EVER say dont vote cuz it doesn't matter. that goes back into what he was saying about people miscontruing his shit. and i truly believe rhymefest supports obama more than just the color of his skin. i do not believe rhymefest is ignorant and anyway shape or form. and im kind of shocked that u don't approve of this conversation. i mean seriously, if they didnt have this conversation, you wouldn't even know they're stances and you wouldn't be able to make the comments you're making, and in a sense you're being ignorant as well. and im sorry and dont take this the wrong way but this is healthy conversations and makes good for growth as humans, so FUCK ur previous statement saying it's not deserving of props. esp. in this climate of hip-hop where things like this are rarely discussed. MUCH PROPS IS DUE ON THIS GUYS.
This also shows how people fighting for the same thing, revolution, can disagree on something. once again, i do not believe that either one of the guys are promoting or advocate not voting. they are explain the view of down trotted people such as the poor areas, and as graphically dipicted by these intellectuals that the reason they don't and the people from they're area don't. if anything the 2000 election prove that voting doesn't matter cuz if ur daddy was president u can be too...but i will vote just so i can say see it doesn't matter cuz conditions are still shitty. and that's how i'll feel until this country has a revamped system or is run by some competent people... but LUPE FIASCO and RHYMEFEST coming together? it's about damn time. ONCE AGAIN MUCH PROPS AND GREAT CONVERSATION. i hope this is a prelude to a collab, cuz it's about time u guys did a song together.
