Who Gives Kudos:

Friday, December 26, 2008
After a long string of dates that took us all across this continent and some parts of another we are pleased to be back with loved ones for the holidays.
As some of you may know I happily joined the ranks of the Broken Social Scene. A soft light has broken inside me since entering the their realm. thank you Brendan, Kevin, Heidi, Sammy, Andrew, Charlie, Justin, Leon, Marty, Brody, Angus, Scheid, Robyn, and Brandy for taking such good care of me in all my insecure, excited, tired, bold, passionate, and burnt-out states.
Being a member of great band is a great thing for me in itself, but finding friends in that same band is a beautiful bonus. thanks is all i have.

After the BSS dates we took our van across Canada joined by Josh Reichman Oracle Band where we got into all types of seemingly wholesome mischief. I would love for a reunion with these boys as we shared many deeply lit times with each other and we're big fans of the live show and the E.P.

We reunited with BSS down in the southern states and then played a final show in Toronto to mark the end of the BSS/Land of Talk tour in support of Brendan Canning's "Something for all of us". We jumped on a plane the next day for amsterdam where we hopped in a van with Montreal's stellar "Think About Life" for a 12 day tour. The weather, the long drives, the homesickness left much to be desired, but we managed to get in some good games of "Asshole" (my least favorite card game as i always seem to be the Asshole) and a most memorable night dancing our hearts out to Handsome Furs live show in Ghent, Belgium.

Now we are back in montreal and laying low. I am getting surgery in late January and subsequently have had had to cancel all shows leading up to and for months after that. Except the guelph, toronto, kingston shows where we will be joined by 2 of my favorite montreal bands "Little Scream" and "Zeroes".
After that i desperately need vocal rest, speech therapy, singing lessons and i've taken it upon myself to follow the Alexander Technique to help me with all things mind/spirit/body/performance.

We will use our non-touring time to the best of our abilities. there is a cartoon theme song in the works, new songs, and ways to play old songs better.

Please bear with us as we mend. too much road is never a good thing.
time to marinate in one's own creative juices is in order.
thank you all for following and supporting us.
Please check in with us now and then for new vids/pics/updates.
happy winter and
see you in the spring!

peace and goodwill,

lizzie

As if your voice wasn't fantastic enough, I guess it's going to get even better with all of that treatment so it will be worth it.

A cartoon theme song's a big surprise (any further hints?); hope we can hear some new songs in 2009, and does "new songs" include The Death Committee?

Rest well.

I understand the marinating part, but I can't imagine you not using your voice for months. Take your time with new songs. I am still enjoying SomeAreLakes.
