Wow.

We never expected that.

Lots of people showed up on Friday, a whole bunch and load. It was, quite literally, a packed house. Thanks to everyone who came, especially those of you who sat on the floor. That was damn sweet. We hope you had fun, or at least as good a time as this person who was overheard later in the evening.

I'd like to thank the writers again: David Barringer, Matt Bell, Matt Kirkpatrick, and Justin Taylor. They did a kick ass job, each and every one of them. To find out more about these talented folks, check out this blog entry from a few weeks ago.

Another big thank you goes to the filmmakers who let us show their movies at every performance of Take that Hill ever: Andy Bely, Lena Jayaswal, Rachel Max, and Bert Mains. You can read more about them here.

Thanks also go to Dennis, Eros, and everyone at the KGB Bar. They kindly opened their doors so we could show oddball movies about bread and read stories about death metal; this despite the fact it could have driven their clientele clear to Jersey. We very much appreciate it. If you live in the city, please hang out at this bar more often.

Finally, a huge thank you is due to Colonel Dan Brady. Dan is the Barrelhouse business guru, a man charged with the unenviable task of taking the magazine from the brokeass to the black. He scheduled the venue and made sure things ran smoothly. Thanks a bunch, Dan.

If you didn't get a chance to pick it up on Friday, Barrelhouse #2 is available for sale here. Also, feel free to poke around the site for more stories, the blog, and, if you are so inclined, submission guidelines. Barrelhouse is ALWAYS looking for pop culture-tinged nonfiction. Please send it along.

As for Take that Hill, we're going to take a short break, but we'll be back in the fall. Before that, though, we'll be soliciting short films to show in the next round of performances. Keep an eye here. I'll post info as things come up.

Thanks again!
