Current mood: complacent
so after much deliberation, I have come to the decision that the Peace Corps is not for me, plus a few other contributing factors jump in that I will not go into details about. I think coming to Mali as my first experiece overseas was a little too overwhelming and feel my efforts in contributing to this world will best be placed elsewhere. I don't have any harsh feeling for the Peace Corps or anything. I'm actually in a very peaceful place right now, knowing that I made the right decision to come home. My only regrets is leaving the people that I have come to cherish and love with all my heart (Americans and Malians alike). I will truly miss all of you, but hopefully we will be able to keep in touch. So I will not have the coveted title of Peace Corps Volunteer much longer, but I admire those who have had the courage to stick it out and wish you all the best. My two and a half months here have been a true blessing and I can return to the states with new found confidence in my abilities to make it on my own. How fucking sappy is this damn blog?!?!?! Okay, i'm going to quite being cheesy now. Sorry to all my Peace Corps friends, I really want to keep in touch. Let me know if you need anything. And to all my friends in the States, thank you thank you thank you! I couldn't have lasted this long without your undying support.
